For a start you never stand the drum flat on the ground it kills the base flow. You tilt it forward grab it with your knees. This in turn angles the drum to the correct position of your hands. Do not ever play a djembe like this guy
Exactly, this sounds horrible with the port completely blocked and it's a great drum if used properly. Not sure how you could spend a few hundred dollars on a djembe and not take 10 seconds to research proper seated playing position/technique lol.
I would like to have heard that drum on Remo's Drum stand for that drum. Both my Remo dejembe Drums sound Great on a stand and they sound really crappy directly on the floor like in the video. Way to muffled, None of the great sound can get out, it is trapped in the drum.
Got an 18 remo. Just like your. And sounds like crap. I can’t get the deep bass sound. I try. All kinds of ways. Any ideas. What I can do to make sound better. Other told my need a new head. But the one I have looks brand new. I don’t see any flaws. But just don’t know. Can’t I help. Tks
armando correa release the tension rods and remove head. Wipe off bearing edge. Put the head and rim back on with tension rods finger tight.(ensure rods are clean and lightly lubbed). As you tighten the rods with your key, continue to the rod directly across. As you tighten around the head, try to match the pitch, from tension rod to tension rod. Very important. You are probably getting multiple pitches throughout the head and receiving an unpleasant tone. Take your time, have fun.
Okay its freestyle, but thats not how to play a Djembe and you have no pulsation. For me the Remo sounds always with to much overtones, i prefer real african Djembe, but this is a matter of Taste
It's ok, it' free style percussions, but it's nothing to with Djembe. And everybody that makes use of this word, should have a minimum of respect for this African culture and TRADITION.
I agree-ish. I think what you say would be more true if it was more of a ceremonial rooted instrument like the talking drum,Baga,or Sabar drum…. Though I do understand your frustration as I too am a purist at heart.

They should not even use the word "Djembe", it's an offense to the West-African culture
Gotta love the Djembe Police ❤️👮
Молодец мужик! Не останавливайся! Развивайся в технике! А самое главное - играй для себя, лови кайф!!!!

Cindy Ward Ok will try and gave u an updated. Ty soo much. Oh. Very quick. When u say oil? What kind. Lol
get a good wood djembe no this type they sound like a tin can, i had one years ago it sounded like a polished up turd .. jeff
You don't need oil on these Remo synthetic heads. Bass? Tilt it, not flat like he has shown.
16 or 14?

To much ringing overtones in my opinion
Sounds like a bucket

Imagine getting offended by a guy playing a drum.
@@tiberiu_nicolae Do you understand English? Or you randomly comment other's comments?
