Chances are you've heard of Bob Smiley, especially if you've been around him. He talks a lot. He's been doing clean comedy for 20 years. He's opened for bands like Third Day, Newsboys, Mercy Me, Jeremy Camp, even though his best friend, Toby Mac has told him not to name drop. Oh man this man is way to funny. Saw him first on Dry Bar and had to look for more of his comedy. Love how he spoke of his kids and his real life. Very awesome. I want to see more of his comedy.

Awesome, show you won me over you have another fan! Yes, his style a zest for being so open and have the ability to make other. laugh. He just seems to be someone who you or he walk up and just start any type of conversation. Very likeable! Oh, and when he mentioned brain freeze, I figured this out or it works for me. If you get the freeze right after if you drink something right after goes away really fast. lol Sorry all I was just letting others know. lol

I love this guy . His personality and style. Also i get why he has a mic so he can fully move. Adhd and even mania. Lol i fet that i like how he chose a ear mic. He knows himself and rocks his weird quirks as a strength. I envy that i think alot of us who are kinda like him do the opposite. Anyway i love hiw he writes his jokes especially when he pulls you along then switches the joke with the last sentence.well thought out builds and punches. He is so genuine
@@skoomasteve7787 if you listen to him on the early episodes of Tim Hawkins podcast and he talks about how cheap he’s always been he always had a hand held mic because they were cheaper even tho this works way better for him 😂. Also sounds like he quit buying ones on sale with static issues, according to him.

Saw a shorter set by him before and I think he has some very good comedy --- some relatable to childhood etc.
I’m from South Carolina and after I left there and would go back to visit? It was like going back in time. In some ways it was nice but, the difference in the words they use and the way they talk is hilarious 28:03

The crowd is weak this dude is funny.
The crowd was fine, actually. Many comedy concerts are shot in a church that has some video gear set up to televise sermons. But very few of them are set up for stand-up comedy shows.
So it costs a lotta money to rent extra cameras and hire extra camera operators-not to mention setting up and designing "audience lighting"-to capture reaction shots of the crowd. Oh, and you also have to run additional microphones, which requires additional audio channels-possibly on an additional audio-only recording device (which has to be monitored by a professional audio engineer). Our pal Bob wasn't up for "Breaking Budgets" on this project. :-)

OK I genuinely think a lot of this guys jokes are funny but the thing I can absolutely not get over is how much filler he uses, it's a tactic that comedians use right after the punchline of a joke, they clear their throat and say "so" or some sort of filler in case the joke doesn't go well or something, to me it seems incredibly amateur to use after every single joke, and I feel like it takes away from his content that is actually pretty funny.

does anybody if its possible to block Crown TV? i get that some ppl like this kind of sanitized humour but i prefer real situations involving real people.
This is the least funny comedy ive seen.
Can't relate at all..
If you could just deliver the line and go immediately to setting up the next without stopping to shrug or make hand motions or pretend-interact with the audience, this set would be 40 minutes and much more satisfying.
And speaking of shorter, maybe instead of parting your hair straight down the middle, you could cut it short, like a buzz, and use product to make it stand up. After all, you do standup, why shouldn't your hair?
It was refreshing at the end to hear quick-fire one-liners without having to sit through all the tedium of a set-up and then a can-you-believe-it? or "what-can-I-say" or "go-figure" hand gestures.
You seem to rely on formats. It's fun to be tricked the first time, like in the last line you reveal an element of the story that changes everything. When we're fooled a second time, it might still be funny but a little embarrassing that we were fooled by the same format again. We're prepared for the third time, and we protect ourselves by not getting fooled, and not laughing. One of those formats was you saying something outrageous and then saying "Just kidding, it was really (something even more outrageous)." Maybe just use each format per show-year, then new ones for each format in the new show. You could build hunger in your audience, who will be eager to see you again because they know you'll have all new material in the formats they love.
My favorite is you imagining a scenario based on a grammar mistake, like a misplaced modifier or an imprecise pronoun. Like in the towel bit, when God joins in. "Make it shiny!" is a great line because you don't explain it. We have to reach for it, and then we double-enjoy it, not only because it's inherently funny but also because we stepped out in blind faith and not only did we not fall into the abyss, we got the joke! Masterful comedy!
