    In my opinion I think the lard is so much better than the crisco. Looks great,thanks.

    I remember you used to whip the lard instead of melting it. Do you prefer the second method over the first?

      Both work - if your using onion then I prefer melting the lard.

    Can I use regular Maseca as oppose to the Tamal Maseca?

      Regular Maseca will give you a tougher tamale 🫔 so I don’t suggest

      Like Gloria said, no. It makes them tough and weird. I’ve definitely spotted it at a few restaurants lol

    What do you do if the masa doesn't float after mixing?

      James if you mixed by hand 🖐️ you need a little more mixing. If you are mixing with a mixer - the masa will not always float but make them anyway the results will still be Good 👍

    If I make pork tamales do I still use chicken broth in the masa?
