When you've got Ronnie O'Sullivan asking 'how'd you do that?' about any shot on a snooker table then i think it's safe to say you're a genius. Jimmy the Legend !.
It's amazing to watch Ronnie, a grandmaster of the game, keen to figure out something new in snooker. You can see the gears spinning as he learns from each attempt.
The more of these shots I see them trying to recreate and needing multiple attempts the more I'm sure that it has to do with feel for the table. When they play a full match they have the perfect feel for the table and can pull of these incredible shots. You still need luck but it can't only be up to luck that you see so many incredible shots live but in the studio they struggle to recreate them.
If Jimmy White didnt play to please the crowd he could have been the greatest snooker player ever. Very special player. No one has ever matched his style.
@@GenosGlory If I could be granted just one 'Sporting Wish ' it would be that Jimmy White had been World Champion ! Such a truly brilliant talent !! & always so good natured in defeat. After his last World Title defeat to Stephen Hendry he said " I'm beginning to get a bit fed with you ..! " which of course brought the House down! He did win everything else though, of course & will always be one of the very best ever .
Peter Mills Yes I agree he should have won the world championship at least once. He had the skills to win it more than once. Some shots he has potted over his career are just WOW. Jimmy White and Alex Higgins are my fav snooker players ever. Stephen Hendry and Ronnie are after them.
Jimmys great, but no he’d never have been the greatest. They’re pros, so when they’re performing it is for the self. Jimmy should have had a couple but a Ronnie of 80s/90s would see him on 10+. That kind of stuff just never appealed to him.
Near impossible shot. Takes a touch on pure rare genius. I really don't think many people in the world can do that shot first time like that. Jimmy White is a legend. He did that shot when it counted
Nowhere near an impossible shot. Anyone that has played pool at a high level has probably pulled off a Masse in a match, either friendly or competitive. Don't get me wrong, it's not easy to get the ball exactly where you need it, but calling it a "near impossible" shot is perhaps over stating things a little.
I know what you mean in general but he wasn't really under pressure as such because the frame was essentially already won, with Ronnie needing a few snookers.
amazing to see Ronnie still playing at world class level - Hendry and Davis were both done by 30....the people's friend snooker fans have never got over it lol.
I've played this shot 1s on a pool table in a match I had the biggest smile on my face a thought of Jimmy white I even said it have you guys seen jimmy play that shot
I played it once in our pub...each week we have another go at getting the cue out of the table. We asked King Arthur to have a go but he was double booked.
I think key to this is crossing the leg which anchors the body so you can relax and focus more on addressing the cueball, Ronnie seemed to have his leg open and looked like he was trying to balance as well as play the shot, can any players out there confirm or debunk that theory? I'd like to know, if so then kinda snidey of Jim not to let on
I think there's more pressure to recreate these shots because when they first happened they would have been forgotten about if they had missed the shot. Trying to recreate any difficult shot automatically puts you under pressure
Can't believe Ronnie doesn't know how to play this shot? Obviously has so much talent he never needed to? I remember trying (and failing) to do do this as a kid when my school had a 3/4 size table.
Just a show with a snooker table and Ron and Jimmy just off-the-cuff shooting the shit about whatever, maybe get a guest in for a frame, I'd watch that
Dude. That would be a great chat show. I mean, I've seen chat shows where they interview guest whilst driving in cars. A chat show where the guest, and the hosts play a game of snooker together would be excellent. Whilst keeping score of the game, of course. Ronnie & Jimmy's Show with tonight's guest countryfile star Ben Fogle. Or someone else. What sort of calibre guest would you be after for this project?
I think this shows ronnies lack of love for the game , when Jimmy played that in the match . If I was Ronnie later on I would have to have a go at the shot myself , just to see how it’s done. The imagination alone puts Jimmy on another level , it shows he’s experimented and loves snooker
I don't get it, that's basically called "artistic billard" in France, take a look at people like Jean Reverchon, you would never believe what they do with balls, it is like it is remote controlled.

Everytime he has to make a trickshot. He has said he doesn't know much about them.
Ronnie is not the best when it comes to trick shots but he is the best snooker player

They should have shown the original shot from the match.
Yeah thats what i thought, no idea what the original shot was

ARSEABOUTFACE cheers for the link. Looked it up myself but still couldn't find it.
James Belvedere they usually do show original, but you can gather what the original shot was
Jimmy probably didn't want them to, as he still had his bald spot then.
"And he's also a lot older now"
Jimmy just gave him a death stare. :D
Then he laughed...pulled out a gun and shot him!
How on earth did jimmy do it successfully in a live match? That’s bloody incredible!
The more of these shots I see them trying to recreate and needing multiple attempts the more I'm sure that it has to do with feel for the table.

People never show Jimmy's next shot, where he attempted another masse and missed by a mile.
@@alternativeglasto You would have made it though eh :)
Wow even The Rocket is baffled.

Love that Ronnie can still be taught a lesson. Love it more that Jimmy is the one to teach it!
Huge respect to both.
Rest hand on the thigh might be what Ronnie missed here
Near impossible shot. Takes a touch on pure rare genius. I really don't think many people in the world can do that shot first time like that. Jimmy White is a legend. He did that shot when it counted
A shot like that is mainly luck and depends a lot on the cloth on the table at the time
It didn't really count though due to the score at the time and he later tried it again and missed.
@@amazed66 - It did count because he pulled it off in the match.

In the real game, when Jimmy pulls the shot off, the humble smile which he raises is priceless.
He's thinking, "Fackin' 'ell that were a fluke, I'll never be able to do that again." And he proves it in this video.

Only one Jimmy White
Nah there's a Jimmy White lives near me, always gets drunk and bokes all over himself down the train station
There`s one near me as well, Jimmy White Fencing in Thornton Cleveleys.
Nice free advert for him.
I'm Stephen White, no relation though!!
okay, so looks like we have definitely proved that there is in fact more than one Jimmy White. Good work internet!
Shows how good a shot it was in a match under pressure.....

Jimmy White and Alex Higgins were king in these shots in their prime days. Ronnie and Hendry are King of the game.
These are brilliant clips....more please!
I love these kind of videos.
Great videos from Eurosport and nice to see two of the three of my favorite players having fun at the table. Hendry missing.

Ronnie takes a crack at it.

Jimmy calling Andy "Debbie" is brilliant! It was just Banter!
Former world No.3 Neal Foulds never has go
Jimmy White, the most naturally snooker gifted player I have ever seen...
The greatest shot you will ever see anywhere, anyplace, anytime! The greatest shot ever seen on a snooker table!!!!!!!
Fantastic 😃 From Lisboa 🇵🇹 Portugal
Nobody asks Neal to take a shot. He was a top professional in his day. Let him have a go.
Yes but in the midst of The Whirlwind and The Rocket, he doesn't compare.

The true GOAT of snooker.
Truly the shot of the Century. Who is ever going to succeed making this play again if someone like Ronnie is asking how it's done?...
Venom plays shots like this for fun.
That genuinely surprises me that Ronnie hasn't done this sort of trick shot before.
ronnies forte is control not exhibition

Greatest punditry team in Snooker.

you must watch the semih sayginer videos for this kind shots
I remember see that shot, what year was it?
1066 at Ye Olde Crucible.
And to think this was done first time in a tournament match...
It was a Matchroom Live exhibition match.
It's a shame that Jimmy had relatively brief career of being in his prime while Ronnie is going strong.
