The problem with cable snares is they're 1 and done for active animals. A fox will twist, turn, and jump trying to get lose. That cable will be all jacked up, irreparable. There are better methods and materials. Of course my intent is to kill. I see no point in catch and releasing foxes. It's not good to relocate them and if you can't relocate them, what's the point in trapping them other than to kill?

dunno where u are at or what types of fox you are catching but I would think the foxes are city foxes released into the country because here in the north east england foxes (country foxes) would NOT go near a snare with human scent on it
Earlier today my dog was caught in a snare - carefully placed on a "rabbit run". There is a whole attitude problem here - essentially self-righteous people who are really protecting game rather than real agriculture or the ecosystem.
As a person who is dirt poor, keeping poultry to lay eggs for my family...I really object to your self righteous attitude anywhere..without recourse to actually asking the local people, where is safe. You have a pet... Foxes, badgers and mink are a real problem...

The Red Fox can smell metal it'll take all year to snare it with that. Plus its not a crocodile snare so without a trigger you need the fox to be clumsy. Your viewers would be better off with old Bertie and night vision. Also nothing gets the fox running into a snare like the smell of roast chicken. Perhaps you should retire for Sunday lunch or move in with Mr Fox. Gnangngangannnanan.

Is the weak link a legal requirement of snares in the UK?
How to overcomplicate simplicity British style. Now let’s have a cup of tea.

The bird at 3:08 is on to him....
Did anyone else see the animal run across the road at 3:07? Lol, maybe a fox!
They now make foothold traps which do no harm to an animal's paw-and if the wrong animal is caught, it can be harmlessly released.
You forgot the kitchen sink.
damn not legal in Michigan 😟
just keep your mouth shut
Saw a snared fox yesterday and again this morning in the same place, two days in a snare that's got to be wrong.
yes illegal
It is wrong...go to your local pub and complain.
Don't do official stuff,. just let the locals know

I don't care about killing the fox....but you keep saying all you're trying to do is capture the fox. We all know what happens after that, lol

I did it with the Stodoys plans.
not much need to check them snares ,,he wont catch many tramping all over the run and leaving his scent everywhere,,,
