Indeed, the photo tour is awful We will reach out to airbnb Minute 09:00 -ish step 1: Reach out to airbnb to disable photo tour Step 2: once disabled, delete all rooms in the photo section, except Bedrooms and Bathrooms Step 3: Add all the other photos in the additional photo section. Step 4: click in all photos and arrange the photos in the optimal order Step 5: DECLINE Airbnb´s option to arrange the photos automatically THANKS FOR SHARING 🙂
Don't forget to also add ONE photo only of each bedroom back into each bedroom room (so that you can avoid the next mistake and keep the "Where you'll sleep" section in your listing!)
Unscathed- The location setting setting once I realised a few weeks back was challenging at best to change my " airbnb Ambassador " had to be asked three different ways after saying it could not be changed to only be finally told that i had to message a completely different department I had never heard of and ask for it to be change also the reasons - I have always found airbnb a pleasure to deal with but on this occasion as I said was challenging at best - but we got there in the end. Terrific video 💯
Congrats!! If you send me an email to james@bnbmasteryprogram.com I can hook you up with a free month in BNB Tribe! :) Glad you got the location settings sorted out! Those can cause big issues!
I was REALLY looking forward to a free course. I just KNEW I had everything correct except that damn organization of photos by room! I hated the fact that Airbnb opted me into that option. Also, when you chose your own COVER PHOTO, Airbnb would randomly switch it to another. The only way to move it was to delete then upload it again. I didn't realize you have to contact them to turn it off. HOWEVER, you DON'T have to contact them. Instead of contacting them...simply keep the bedroom and bathroom photos in tack by room...put all the other photos in ADDITIONAL PHOTOS and then DELETE the other rooms. As long as you don't mistakenly hit ARRANGE PHOTOS you are good...HIT NO THANKS.
Yup, >put all the other photos in ADDITIONAL PHOTOS and then DELETE the other rooms< is what Airbnb told me when I asked them to deactivate the photo tour.
Soo close! Haha way to go on nailing all the others though! And a word of warning, I did the same thing initially (ie. didn't contact Airbnb specifically) only to have them turn the photo tour BACK ON even with only the bedrooms and bathrooms selected (everything else deleted). So just keep an eye out for that! The only sure-fire way I've found to disable it permanently is to contact them.
@@james.svetec I contacted Airbnb and I was told that they could not deactivate the photo tour. I will call back and see if I can get another rep to assist me.
This is the verbal and written reply from AirBnB, they told me they couldn't turn it off.....Thanks for contacting us. This is Andrea a support ambassador Congratulations on being a SuperHost with Airbnb. Thank you for your dedication to providing exceptional hospitality. I can understand that you would like to turn off your arranged photos as how the photos is reflecting in the search is different from how you have set it, and I am sorry to hear. This I know is concerning to you however if you turn it off the algorithm and category will still cause the changes in the photo set up.
I contacted them and they had no clue what I was talking about in regards to disabling photo tour. I kept the room photo attached but moved all the others to additional and that worked.
Okay nice, glad it worked! I would still recommend reac hing back out to their support. Some reps are a bit clueless, but if you reach out again they should know what you're talking about. I'vve done it in the past the same way you did (without support) only to then have them re-enable photo tour without my knowledge! So the only sure-fire way I've found to remove it for good is through support!
@@james.svetec I contacted them via support and they said there is "no way to disable photo tour". I can send you the screen shots. I manually reordered all my photos but it actually shows the first 5 in the order you want them, the rest go into photo tour. With that in mind, it looks like you can do as you suggested in terms of deleting other rooms, only putting one picture in bedrooms and bathrooms, and then moving the rest into additional but maybe at this point its not worth doing if you already have the first five pics that you want?
Looks like my last comment was deleted since I included my email -- congrats on avoiding all the mistakes! If you go to my channel and click on "More..." at the top, you'll be able to find my email :) Shoot me an email and I'll hook you up with a free month in Tribe!
The photo mistake is a bit confusing to me. I ha the option right from the start to select the option to NOT let airbnb arrange the photos and do it myself. I am new to Airbnb (listing it myself) and when I clicked on the photo tour option during set-up and then all photos a box popped up that said Lead with your best photos and then two options: Arrange photos or No thanks. If you select no thanks then you can move the photos around however you want. This option is differnt then the manage photos where all the rooms are listed seperately where you put the correct photos for each room in. So now I am a bit confused on what it is you are saying to change. I did have one other mistake which was the location selection, I completely missed that section when setting up my listing, so thank you!!!
Nice, good catch on the location settings! My recommendation is to disable the photo tour entirely. Everything to do with photo organization should be done completely manually for best results. So when a guest clicks into your photos, they won't see any rooms, just a bunch of photos arranged exactly as you manually arranged them.
Well congrats on having fixed all of them! That’s awesome! Feel free to shoot me an email and I can hook you up with a free month in Tribe! :) james@bnbmasteryprogram.com
The photo order is a big issue. Mine looks horrible: they put the ones showing the accessible floor transitions first 🙄 But what a convoluted fix! Not sure I’m up for that.
I'd say I have maybe 1/2 of an error. I was a little unfamiliar with the room settings because I was afraid of re-activating that stupid photo tour! Then again, the rooms were already set correctly. BTW, I had to speak to five different customer service people to get the photo tour turned off!!!! (It is super easy to activate the tour via the phone app, so don't even touch your photos on your phone.) I will say that I (and even other gurus) have a difference of opinion on opening the calendar far in advance. I think in the US we're going to hit some more inflation. I'm okay with 6 months advance bookings, but I just can't do two years ahead at yesterday's prices. My monthly costs have increased accordingly and I had no problem getting booked even during the recent "AirBnBust".
Nice! Super well done! What’re your thoughts on just opening up those farther out dates in the calendar at “tomorrow’s prices”? You could even open them up at 50-100% more than your normal rate. Unlikely to get booked, but if it does you’re in a great spot!
Pro tip: you can also cancel the booking on that same guest WITHOUT any penalty! Just reach out to Airbnb and let them know that you're uncomfortable with the reservation because of the poor reviews and that you'd like to cancel penalty free!
Had done all of them except for those I disagree: 1 : cancellation policy, we have very few cancellations and when your competition is all flexible, i do not think its worth the extra friction. 2: Photo tour you can reorder it at room level and get the right photos. Going for a custom photo tour may affect the algo in the long term, if you have bad ass amenities you can put them in the first 5 photos and let guests know to get them to click. So how about you give me a free month and learn something to know if your tribe is worth joining
Nice! What market are you in? Would love to check out your listing if you can drop a link! Cancellation is almost always best set to strict, but there are some markets that are exceptions. For the photo tour, super curious to check out your listing and see what you mean!
I personally like them overall, but you gotta stand your ground and make sure they don't try any funny business. But we still get lots of bookings from them!
To get rid of the photo tour, all you have to do is add a room and don't put anything in it. In order for the photo tour to work, you have to have something in every room.
