i've finally found this. it's incredible! Grace sounds great! but in this video i guess Leslie is more than 50 tears old, and when she sings "i'm young and i love to be young" - that broke my heart! what a life-power! god bless!!
Up until the break, she was fabulous, at the break and through the rest of the song, she flat out OWNED her song. Never seen a performance like this. Goosebumps.
Remember when it first came out. It was the first song by a girl that showed strength and self-determination! It really was the theme of the feminist movement to come: "You don't own me." God bless her, she was way ahead of her time!
This song is my favorite. My daughter and I sing and strut around while dramatically playing it up for fun. I have loved this song forever. Thank you. Brings back good memories 😊☮️💋💜
I was 6 years old when this came out and grew up with it. It changed the views of a lot of people, men and women both. I remember my Mom, when referred to as a housewife, saying that she didn't marry a house. My sibs and I grew up with this view.
it`s mind blowing that someone can perform a song that Lesley has been singing for at least 30 years!!! more than likely, maybe thousands of times!!! and STILL sing and perform with all that passion!!!! this is an outstanding performance!!!
Absolutely magic, this is a lesson on how to sing and perform a song. I loved her when younger and her attitude in the song was fantastic then, but she has managed keep that attitude still! Again fantastic!!!
LOVED THIS GAL... she was so popular when I was in College... that song TAUGHT ME THAT NO ONE HAD ANY RIGHT TO CONTROL ME... Women were never paid the same as men in those days... and could not advance even though we deserved it more than the guys... I have had a wonderful life... free and prospered greatly ! So sad that she smoked and died form lung cancer... really sad ! I retired from owning my own business when I was only 52!
Absolutely FABULOUS performance by Lesley Gore, may she rest in peace. She was such a twinkling star in that era. The icing on the cake for me was to see Jeff Porcaro (R.I.P.), one of the very best drummers to walk this earth, in her backup band.

Absolutely incredible 🙂 I've shared this song with many, many female friends, as I think many women sell themselves short. Women are powerful and beautiful and deserve to be held up... Oh! I'm male... To me, this song says it all and Lesley Gore is Awesome!🙂
Mesmerizing. I don't get mesmerized too much by today's performers. It is not enough to sing well. You have to feel what you are singing and she did that marvelously. Brilliant and beautiful, Leslie Gore.
Lesley Gore was an incredible talent, beautiful soul and it's so sad we all lost her so young. I had the privilege of meeting her twice and she surely touched my heart.

I love her voice/singing!! You can feel her emotion in this song. I grew up listening to her. She's awesome! RIP Leslie!!
Up until the break, she was fabulous, at the break and through the rest of the song, she flat out OWNED her song. Never seen a performance like this. Goosebumps.
Her middle aged voice actually fits this song better than her younger one.
you can really tell she was making.a statement she was gay Bless her didn't know she had passed away.
Remember when it first came out. It was the first song by a girl that showed strength and self-determination! It really was the theme of the feminist movement to come: "You don't own me." God bless her, she was way ahead of her time!
Mother of mind
I love at the ending the look on her face. She killed it and you could just see she knew she killed it.
Tre B Absolutely I agree with you.
Her middle aged voice fits the song better like them high notes were on point 😍😩
Two years later and I’m back haha
🦋 I noticed this 😉 I loved your statement BOTH times 😁😁😁👍✌️🌹
I was lucky enough to see her in concert way back in 1982 - along with Little Anthony and Ricky Nelson. AMAZING SHOW!!
She's impressive
This song is amazing!!!
This is what call LEGEND
Such a powerful
I don't think anyone can sing this song the way she did. Amazing!!!!
And I totally agree! 😃 I don't think there is ANYONE who can sing this song like Ms. Gore!
Pure 100%. There is NO ONE!
😃 1,000%
Has anyone ever tried? They shouldn't!
@@laurenparker1091 Diane Keaton, Goldie Hawn & Bette Midler sang it pretty nicely, lol.
Say grace is pretty dang good tho
What a performance! It got me teary-eyed. Pure passion.
could you imagine if we did not have recordings of these amazing never to be heard again voices? RIP Miss!
it`s mind blowing that someone can perform a song that Lesley has been singing for at least 30 years!!! more than likely, maybe thousands of times!!! and STILL sing and perform with all that passion!!!! this is an outstanding performance!!!
She sounded amazing, it was originally a pop record. This shows the maturity and soulfulness. So much SOULFULNESS. I’m genuinely impressed.
Wow absolutely 👌🏽🌟🌟🌟 you can hear the life experiences in her voice hear I’m obsessed with this version ❤❤ when music was music and pure talent.
I am blown away!!! I wish I could meet her, I am a singer and I have watched this video a 100 times, just awesome!
Amazing performance! Lesley Gore - God rest her soul - was so underrated as a live performer and this rendition is a revelation!
Absolutely magic, this is a lesson on how to sing and perform a song. I loved her when younger and her attitude in the song was fantastic then, but she has managed keep that attitude still! Again fantastic!!!
So much emotion put into this performance, truly beautiful. A woman beyond her time.
Best performance of that song ever.
She knocked it out of the park!!
What a powerful song I love it. How are you Deborah ?
RIP Lesley Gore..😢
She had a beautiful voice,she was beautiful,and I think she's happy,free and young where she is now😢❤❤
Absolutely FABULOUS performance by Lesley Gore, may she rest in peace. She was such a twinkling star in that era.
The icing on the cake for me was to see Jeff Porcaro (R.I.P.), one of the very best drummers to walk this earth, in her backup band.
Her voice is like fine wine so beautiful I'm glad I found this video
I didnt know leslie Gore passed away few years back 🕯️❤️. This has got to go down as one of her greatest live performances OMG she was exceptional. She sung that even better than when she first sung when young. Got shivers when she got half way into. ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏 she certainly deserved the standing ovation she received for that👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Nádherný, stále aktuální. ❤❤
I feel as if she got even more amazing as she grows older...
I agree >>>>She killed it! Actually her voice sounds better than it did when she was younger. And her eyes are still killer.
Holy Crap! What a great voice!
Hi Lisa
Perfect voice for this song beautiful memories. How are are Lisa ?
This is absolutely her BEST performance of this song...ever! What a wonderful, talented, and beautiful person she was. I miss her being in this world. It's just not been the same without her. Rest in peace, dear one.
Fantastic Leslie....You are one great soul.... It's great to have experienced your voice and your strength in this life.... thank you..
Lesley Gore was an incredible talent, beautiful soul and it's so sad we all lost her so young. I had the privilege of meeting her twice and she surely touched my heart.
RIP Lesley Gore
I must admit, I've only heard this song once in my lifetime, never heard of this woman before as a singer, she's absolutely phenomenal, from what I can gather she's passed on, may she RIP 🙏, but I will say something, she was amazing, what a voice, I could listen to her all night long, heart and soul, she's got it, I can't stop listening to her now ❤️❤️❤️
Those beautiful blue eyes were mesmerizing! RIP Lesley🕊️🥰
This is so powerful. I feel even more powerful while listening to it. Love you Leslie ❤️ a role model
R.I.P. Mom, We miss you..😢
Wow, what a beautiful voice, a beautiful message, and beautiful eyes!
Wow! I really enjoy the studio version of the song, but this is stunning! I have goosebumps. Legend!
