This is why I love the British Style of hunting. Respect for the birds and the countryside, good dog work, beautiful shotguns, everyone behaving like true gentlemen sportsmen and most importantly the realization that its not about the number of birds you harvest. Here in North America the ground sluicers, road hunters and tree shooters could learn a thing or too after spending time in Great Britain.
Owning guns and hunting in Europe seems to be generally expensive and difficult to get into.Heck, they're using shotguns that cost as much as a nice used car. Here in the US, it is hillbilly culture.
i have been watching these videos and i am really getting intrested in this sport/hobby and cant wait till im old enought to get a gun and go hunting but unfortunatly im only 12 years old so it looks like ive got a long way to go! I look forward to watching more videos :)
kaiweir If your in the US you can get your hunting license now. You will need an adult (parent) to buy your shotgun but there are lots of special hunts for your age group. There are programs for you to get into.
Would love to have a days Grouse shooting out on the Moors. Nice job but I hope there aren't too many scratches on that precision engineered Longthorn stock from Nolans cartridge belt buckle!
One thing I always find interesting with European hunting shows vs US hunting show. European shows typically use equipment thats worth more than a used car. US hunting shows will use gear that you can find in a box store.
The scenery is as breathtaking as I recall it. The guns leave a bit to be desired as there were enough opportunities for four braces. I would have preferred English setters for this game over GSPs any day of the week. GSPs are methodical enough but don't have either the nose nor the pace to hit grouse hard enough to keep them holding. Wish I could have been there with my Emma (setter) and Bernardelli 20 gauge SxS.
So you guys took 15000 dollar custom, handcrafted shotguns out on a hunt trudging up and down hills all day? I wish i had that kinda dough to throw around for a "truck gun" lol
I know Anne, and I can't believe that she let the guns shoot so close to her dogs. The guns were horizontal when they shot at the birds. They would do it once if it was my dogs, and I would walk of the Moor. You never shoot horizontal.
Isuzu D-Max Huntsman!?? 13,000 pounds for a shotgun!?? I've seen clean misses on easy shots and an American stuffed into tweeds. Not my kind of shooting show. I do well with a Subaru Outback and a Browning Citori Gran Lightning in 16 bore. 2:48 in,.....and you lost me. I'll watch some more Dave Carrie instead.
How much for a over n under did he say? like $15,000.00 for that, r u crazy. i don't care if it's got gold leaf on it. how does the reg.guy buy a shot gun in the UK? how can a father take his kid out shooting with costs like that? is it all about the haves n haves nots in the UK? cause thats not right or fair. nice country side.
i was at Cabelas over the weekend and looked at several English shotguns and held them some old n new. yes, they are a work of art however i don't or would not like to hunt with them. i would not want to scratch it.lol. they would be a safe queen. used ones $2,500.00 to $8,000.00 cheers.
He only looks like that in the UK. Otherwise, he looks like any other hillbilly hunting in Alabama (except the gear he brings out is worth more than their house)
this is just beautiful:
the landscape
dogs
the grousses
and of course I like real hunters.

kaiweir Hey buddy..I started out at 6 with my first airgun...It's been a roller coaster ride ever since!! Let us know how you get on :)
On the bright side, you have time to save up for the gun you want and not a gun you have to settle for.

How’s the hunting going now?
Great video, looks like a brilliant place to shoot
it may look like a casual ''walk'' but heather is tough walking ,it can trip you up and the ''high'' stepping over it all day can wear you down.
I like the tweeds you are wearing. The coat looks fantastic. What brand are they?
Ian how do you rate the nomad tweed you were using? I have the plus 4's and think they're epic great show yet again!
I hope to go there one day to hunt grousse Scotland. Verily this is beautiful

Scotland looks like a beautiful place, always wanted to go back to the homeland. haha
My style of grouse hunting is take my .22 out, go for a little walk in the trees, spot the bird and shoot. No dogs, No Flushing them out.

La hermosa y noble caceria con perros de muestra.

13 grand for a shotgun? That's quite funny.
FROM £13,000 . Bespoke, hand made or not, I think someone is having their leg pulled really.
Them socks tho
Those look like roughed grouse. I shoot those in the middle of the road while hunting for deer. lol
great day out but would be better and more exciting with spaniels
kaiweir man u can hunt i mean im 12 and i hunt coyote rabbit partrig crow and the acaganol sqarle
