"Times of Covid" that hit me real hard. My mother got the virus due to her being a doctor and my father got it as well around the same time, probably due to my mother . Had to live separated for months
Hey Mr. Bulmer, I'm loving your videos - they have been a great help. I just had one question: what's the difference between a robot and an automated system? Or is a robot a type of automated system?
In the context of Computer Science IGCSE definitions: A robot is a specific type of machine that is programmable and capable of performing physical tasks. It often has sensors to perceive its environment and actuators to interact with it. Robots can operate autonomously or semi-autonomously and are designed to perform various tasks, such as manufacturing, exploration, or assistance. An automated system, on the other hand, is a broader concept. It refers to any system or process that is designed to perform tasks or functions with minimal human intervention. This can include computer software, machinery, or even industrial processes. While robots are a subset of automated systems, not all automated systems are robots. Automated systems can involve purely digital processes, whereas robots are typically physical machines.
hello! I have a presentation due this week and i have to explain robotics. Even though i have reached till independent and Dependant physical robots, i have a problem with examples since they're too long. how can u divide this so i don't end up accidentally removing important information?
The short version: According to the Computer Science IGCSE definitions, a robot is a programmable machine that can carry out tasks autonomously or semi-autonomously, often with the ability to interact with its environment through sensors and actuators.
Thank you so much! These videos are really helpful. I hope these videos get the recognition they deserve!
