No customizable roger-beeps? I'm still waiting for a model that lets me upload my own .wav files for the roger-beep. That way my roger-beep can be the Wilhelm Scream.
On a more serious note about the GPS location beacon feature, I wonder how many different incompatible standards exist. It seems like it wouldn't be especially useful if feature is manufacturer-specific even given the proliferation of radios based on common designs. I'd want the Garmin unit and the Radioddity unit and any others with GPS to all interoperate. I can't control what radios other four wheelers have equipped themselves with even if I can control what my own family uses.
My only reason for not buying these are that they actually don't use GPS satellites from America and Garmin standards they are using the JUNK glassnoss Russian sats and I wouldn't trust it PERIOD!!!!!!!!! Don't be fooled.
@@temporarilyofflineyou set it to always on, I think there is a glitch with always on when you are programming channels. Setting it to 20 seconds seems to work best for me
Nice set GMRS radios. Just a few things that a firmware update can fix. Poger LOL . I got a HT that the on button is NO . Starting to see GPS more often in HT radios now . Well the plus had a sex change as well. That why I buy both antennas' . SMA- F and M . The ch 7 to 14 are the FRS only CH on GMRS . 73
@@temporarilyoffline I got several radios from them. QT 60 for 1 . All great ! and clean ! I have a friend in UK and have their PMR446 radios and they great . Like out FRS hear. slight different band plain.
Just Got to leave this knowledge here for all to KNOW that the gps unit is not a Garmin standard and uses Russian gps, so if useful gps and location is actuality important to you skip theses radio's. 😮
Worked Garmin's Outdoor segment for 10 years. GPS is the U.S. constellation of satellites and BDS is the Chinese satellites and supposedly more accurate.

@@temporarilyofflinemy wife said I’m 2 for 3 , I’m quick and fast 😂
You are absolutely right. No radio should rely on a computer to set it up or use it.
This.
Great video looks like a set of nice GMRS radios!! Thanks for the review!!
Thanks Blue!

Not many people know what the Wilhelm scream is. Extra points to you! (We both know they've all heard it though)
Man, the Sulu is strong on this one.😂
Great video T.O. Keep up the great work!
Thanks!
Everything. Everything is different.
This is like when Ford created an electric SUV and named it "Mustang".
I am not a fan of that MEV - I might have been curious/better able to say "ok" had they named it anything else.
@@temporarilyoffline That was my thought too. I was annoyed by the choice of name.
Twice the Van gmrs damage, tnx Man!
Exactly!

That's how they get ya!

GPS antenna where the flashlight is on other models?
Unforgivable!
lol @ "Thank you Captain"
Thanks for watching!
In the settings go to backlight and set it to 20 it will give you more time while programming channels
Backlight? Thought I played with that... Thanks!

@MrHugo61 yeah. They need to fix that!

I sent them a nicely worded memo with my findings. Radioddity is really good about fixing things like this.

FRS is all 22 channels since 2017. Part 95 was officially updated in early 2018.

Have you always had a Steam Deck? This is the first time I noticed the box for it in the background.
About a year now.
Do they make a Ham flavor of this radio?
The GC-5 or the Baofeng UV-17. I've done videos on both of those as well
