This was super helpful in terms of how to get something to get it done and be happy with it, and these tools sound great and I'm so excited to use them! I think it's also a great way to tell people that you do what you need to do, but when you're ready to level up, support graphic artists like yourself by having them help you with those next steps of growing and evolving your business! This video came at the perfect time! Thank You. I’ve been selling on a small scale for about 8 months and have never got around to doing a logo. I just fell into selling my stuff so never set myself up a logo. I’ve been trying to come up with a design over the past few weeks and really struggling and this clearly lays out everything I’m doing wrong! Becca and Jaana to the rescue!
Hi Becca & Jaana! Great tips. I’ll have to look into the Capture app myself but knowingly a bit about capturing images in general, a couple of additional tips that I take for granted but am surprised how often they’re missed when capturing an image: 1) Make your image as large as possible prior to capturing it. Zooming in in it after the fact is NOT the same thing: software will just have too little information to do its thing, so you want to give it tye best shot at getting the best results for you; 2) No matter if you use a “real” camera or your phone, CLEAN THE LENS first. You don’t want blurry or foggy images and a clean lens just helps the software work better. Those of us that need reading glasses or contact lenses already know how much these tips helps our own vision, our computers & apps need the same advantages - “Garbage In, Garbage Out”.
One thing I really notice with logos if someone took the time to come up with the image that would be saved/displayed on a shortcut. So like, on my iPad, I have folders of things for different purposes like lettering, social, crafts, etc. and when I save a webpage and “add it to homescreen” many of the crafty webpages I have added to my Home Screen surprised me by not having cute icons. Yours with the H in the nib, Jaana’s paaperclip and craft stores do. But Happy planner doesn’t a couple hand lettering classes I purchased, they don’t. It surprises me. I find I go to the cute icons first if I am just looking to kill some time and do a random set of letterings.
Wonderful, thank you! Is there any way to incorporate Procreate in this process? Like creating the logo there, exporting as a PNG or JPG to photos, and then tweaking in Adobe Capture/draw?
Not really because Procreate is a raster-based app. But you can sketch/draw the logo in Procreate and vectorize it using the pen tool in Vectornator, a free vector app for the ipad pro.

Yes. Import the design into Adobe Draw and trace it on a new draw layer.
