    Burger mounting was the best mod I found for this keyboard. Burger mount, Geon RAW HE switches, extra foam and 2 layers of tape mod. WS Dash are just recolored Gateron Jades which I found to be extremely clacky compared to the Geon RAW. I'm interested in the kilmat over foam maybe i'll give that a go in the future but i'm happy with my board now outside of maybe hand lubing the switches.

    Try adding a PE sheet or PE switch pads to the PCB. It made mine sound deeper and less harsh.

    I've looked at multiple mods for this and just lubing the switches actually make them 10 times better so idk why you didn't might just be preference but spend $54 dollars on switches or spend about 2 hours lubing idk i would choose the lubing option just my opinion but your money and time.

    Cool video! I just bought my parts for my custom wooting and I was wondering if I should tape mod the pcb and also for your tofu redux case did you have to shift like the port or anything like that?

    • @MightyAims
      @MightyAims  5 місяців тому +1

      I didn't have to shift my port at all, and ended up having to push the pcb all the way to the left to have it fit right. Tap modding the keyboard would really be worth it, it doesn't take long and improves the sound as well

    Cool video, but the mic noise suppression in unnecessary in the sound test, also cutting off alot of your words.

    do the new switches have the same effect as the stock ones? like rapid trigger and that

    • @MightyAims
      @MightyAims  2 місяці тому

      yes. all switches that are magnetic, just like stock wooting lecher, have all work with hallefect keyboards

    Good video :) I have a few recommendations for future videos tho:
    For the sound test you have your noise gate on for your mic, that makes it so the noise cuts in and out very often and makes the sound test sound like ass (sorry) You should make sure to disable said noise gate next time :)
    The dashes are nice switches but just a heads up they're the exact same things as Jades other than the stem color. Same spring same material etc. If you prefer the Dashes from sound tests you've heard you probably just heard people with better keyboard builds using the Dashes but they're the exact same thing as Jades.

      The mic noise gate issue is a combination of me not being close enough to my mic, and the fact that I turn it up so that stream can’t hear my keyboard. I’ll make sure to lower it in obs when making reviews from here on out thank you. I didn’t know the dash’s were an exact replica of the jades, thank you for clearing that up.

      @@MightyAims What audio interface do you use for your mic? (Assuming you have a SM7B). I have the SM7B with a GoXLR mini and I customized my mic settings in the drivers/app directly it sounds a lot crispier than what OBS offers.
      Also you should look into mounting mods. I haven't seen you cover any of that in this video (Although I did skim a little sorry if I missed it) you can do something called a Gummy mount mod which in my opinion enhances the sound more than something like the Burger mod and makes it easier to take the board in and out when you want to change things around.
      The downside from that mod is it doesn't work with screw in stabs but since you're like me and using a board from a stock 60HE/60HE+ it's plate mounted which can be gummy mounted.
      We pretty much have the same keyboard build other than that, very nice ;)

      @maple5702 yes I have the SM7b and goxlr mini. I’ll look into tweaking the mic settings in windows its self. For the second half of the video as well, I recorded the voice overs directly into premiere, and didn’t realize how ass it sounded compared to the beginning which was recorded in obs.
      I thought about burger mounting the keyboard, but decided not to for this one.

      While the WS Dash’s ARE recolors of the Jade’s, the stem is also slightly different and more sturdy on the WS Dash, ive seen quite few vids comparing the two

    Hey Mighty, Shark here. Great video overall. You definitely need a better quality switch puller though! That one looks horrendous to use

    Ok, but switching the switches losses a lot of the functionality of the keyboard

      There are other switch with hall effect (HE) that works the same way as « why » the wooting has a great technology

    • @MightyAims
      @MightyAims  5 місяців тому +7

      Not at all. These switches work the exact same as the original switches that go into the board, full 4 mm of travel distance, so all my wooting settings and rapid trigger settings still work perfectly

      @@MightyAims WS Dash switches (recolor of Jades) have 3.5 mm of travel distance but I don't think it affects keyboard preformance in any major way.

      It really doesn't though if you're using the right switches.

      There are currently a couple of different types of HE switch, only one of which is compatible with the Wooting PCB.
      Provided you are using a supported switch all the usual features work completely fine. The Wooting board recalibrates whenever you plug it in, so using a switch with a shorter travel than the stock Lekkers (like the Dashes used here) is no problem.
