I needed this 5 years ago! where were you?
We had to check a list in excel vs a folder to check if either was complete and change the names of the old files to the new format.
about 6000 files. i feel so... so... i dont wanna talk about it.
(like and add to playlist "excel to never forget")
Just got a bit late in making this one 😉
@@trumpexcel okay, understandable, have a nice day
This was really useful. No need for VBA or Python scripts. Thank you!
Yeah, pretty good trick and needs no programming or automation.
Sir, thanks a lot for the video and xl file.
Glad you found the video helpful 🙂
Great tip, love it, really useful. Previously, I've done that sort of renaming using Excel to create the command, but I've always then created a .BAT file. This is much quicker and easier! (And I didn't know you could type "CMD" in the Explorer address bar!). Nice one, thank you.
Thanks Brian... Glad you found the video helpful 🙂
This was so useful and has streamlined my photography workflow. No need to run my VBA code to create csv files and then Powershell scripts using those csv files as imput!!!! Thank You!!!~
Thanks Tim... Glad you found the video helpful 🙂
Hi Sumit, can you make a video about pasting filtered value in different cell, I mean value in the filter not entire column.
Great!!!, what if i need only pdf in the subfolders to rename it.
Great video. What would the command be if you would like to search for two types of files types at once? For example: *.pdf and *.txt
Can you Tell the Command to Rename All the File Name along with the Files of the Sub Folders?
Sir, your methods are simple SUPERB. Thank you.
Thank you 🙂
Would also show us how to use the Command Prompt to rename folders and also subfolders as well?
You can rename the subfolders the same way you would rename a file. But for files within sub folders, you'll have to get into with each subfolder and then run the command
thank you!@@trumpexcel
what if we use power automate instead?
That would work too.. this is more of a quick and dirty trick if you want to do it one time. With Power Automate, you can make it a repeatable process.
You used to have a link where we can donate funds for your coffee budget. What happen to that link?
It's there in the video description 🙂 Putting it here as well - www.buymeacoffee.com/SumitB
Please keep this available on your videos. ;-)@@trumpexcel
