sir, if u are reading this, i need urgent help... im doing a project of providing novels and books to highschool kids... but the online novels are in chapters divided into multiple folders (~1000+ folders), each containing a few images (also in numerical order :- 001, 002, 003 etc.) i need to combine all the chapter folders into 1 single folder, and still keep the images in order, so that i can just press "print" and be done with a book... at present im having to manually extract each chapter and print it seperately... if u can help me out, it would be a tremendous support for my project...

WOW! This is absolutely awesome. I sure wish this was available about a year ago. I manually renamed hundreds of files to make everything uniform. I will be making use of this hack. Thank you so much for your videos!
This was very useful, thank you. Windows default method (1), (2) when selecting multiple files with F2 is a let down and this is much more useful, i have a photo folder with hundred of images and this solves the issue right away. much appreciated.

Great tip, love it, really useful. Previously, I've done that sort of renaming using Excel to create the command, but I've always then created a .BAT file. This is much quicker and easier! (And I didn't know you could type "CMD" in the Explorer address bar!). Nice one, thank you.
I needed this 5 years ago! where were you? We had to check a list in excel vs a folder to check if either was complete and change the names of the old files to the new format. about 6000 files. i feel so... so... i dont wanna talk about it. (like and add to playlist "excel to never forget")

Dear Sumit Ji Pl help me for a situation. I have got thousands of excel and word files spread across many folders and subfolders. My object is to open each Word file in old Microsoft Word (very much old version 97 or so), replace a particular font with another, save and close the file. Now I have already prepared a Macro for font replacement in old Wordbasic language. I need your suggestion how to copy all Old Microsoft Word files and paste them in a separate folder. Can method in this video somehow help. I have tried to identify them with the help of File Properties in VBA but many files get left out. I also tried .doc extension but failed because many Word files are created in later versions like 2007 having .doc extension and I can't open those files in later versions because that font is only compatible in old Microsoft Word (97 or so). Pl help.

That would work too.. this is more of a quick and dirty trick if you want to do it one time. With Power Automate, you can make it a repeatable process.

Thanks man!!

Is it necessary to add extensions like .pdf, .xlsx
If I chose the same new name will it automatically add number at the end of the name?
It would skip renaming that file
