      But to be fair, trying to play a loss streak econ comp in your first game is actually impossible.
      That's like trying to play a combo deck in HS in your first game. "Oh, this Sorcerer's Apprentice looks pretty good, let my play that on turn 2".
      Not exactly a wrong assertion, you just don't know what the point of the deck is yet and you can't play the good 2 drop on 2.

      Bro, I just started playing when set 9.5 rolled around and for the first like 10-12 games, I just had 10 items on the bench with no idea what to do with them. Like 70 gold with 10 health, because I was so busy stressing out that I didn’t even know I was almost dead and just frantically doing nothing. I came from Frost Prime’s video so I had barebones info, but no League experience (console pleb here) and I had literally ZERO idea what I was doing with region synergies. I knew that BIS was a thing, but I didn’t know what items they were or how to make them, so I just made nothing because of the perfectionist inside me lol. Craziest 3 days of learning any game in my life, but man is this fun now. Especially with Set 10 around the corner, the only thing league/Riot I keep up with is the music and Arcane so best set theme/idea for me to enjoy.

      @@xArt_16 Yeah honestly playing the game and trying to win is a terrible way to learn the game from scratch.
      You need to focus on one feature at a time. I'd honestly skip items entirely on the first few games. Just ignore everything but buying units and trying to combine traits.
      I'd also skip thinking about augments. Just pick a pengu and pick pengu choice every time.
      You need to know how every unit works to even make decisions about items... let alone decisions about slamming now vs collecting best in slot items for a carry that comes later...
      I'd say first 10 games should be just normals and it's 2 games just reading units and combining traits. next 2 is learning augments and economy. next 2 in learning what items there are. next 2 positinioning and 2 more for combining it all.
      You'll still be overwhelmed but you'll likely be able to follow some build guide after that.

    Technically, it is considered a victory if you're within the top 4. It's just more of a victory depending on your placement (get more ranked points the higher you place). Same thing goes in the opposite direction with losses.

    Great video:) Lots of the high level TFT nuances come from understanding comps and pivoting to whatever you are offered. Also augments, items and portals also differ a lot in power for certain comps. These things have not been quite as important in this set due to legends, as people can always guarantee perfect items/one good emblem.

  • @dylans9390

    TFT has taken many hours and days from me... and this video is pretty spot on. Its definitly a turn of to new players because you have no clue on how to grow and how to play. I think its harder to learn/have fun in TFT if you join mid set, because if you join in the middle you are probably facing the meta, and learning new stuff is actually really fun. if you put in a good solid 10 games to learn, i think it can grab any person interested in strategy games. This game heavily rewards knowledge, like a card game. I hope you put a video covering you playing Set 10 because then everyone is (kinda) starting from square one.
    There is so much to learn but its definitely a pro in the long run
    Here some thigns off the top of my head. (this was really cool because look at a new players perspective definitly put more repsect for the game (and me casue im "hella smart") than i thought)
    - Unit abilities
    - Positioning
    - Items + item synergies
    - traits + synegies
    - Augments + portals + synergies
    - Econ + Intrest
    - Comps
    - Early game vs Late game boards
    - Carousel priorities
    - etc.
    A big con though if your playing ranked and reach plat + is just becoming a meta slave, when there are 3 obvious comps that are better then anything else.

    honestly easier learning than lol for me. although it can be chaotic, it’s all information, no mechanics, no aim, just pure information that’s easy to learn. there are online tutorials as well that would probably be higher quality than league can put out. you are also playing with people your skill level usually every game, who smurfs in tft.

  • @deejayf69

  • @IamPhate
    @IamPhate 10 місяців тому

    I started playing TFT in Set 7 after being absent in League for over 10 years. I must say that even though I remember all of the champs, it took me dozens of hours to get into the game and hundreds of more hours to at least attain a decent rank. This game is genuinely not easy, and if you don't know League at all, I dare to say it is insanely difficult to get into, because most of the time (with exceptions), TFT units attain their roles (in a way) from League. Battlegrounds in comparison seems like a piece of cake compared to that. However, the game is on a way different level compared to BG, sadly, and I hardly doubt BG will ever come close to TFT in this way.

  • @elbowjuiceVODs
    @elbowjuiceVODs 9 місяців тому

    The main thing about TFT that I think is make or break for you is if you can accept getting top 4 as a win. Treating anything besides first as a loss has made a few of my friends quit, but changing your mindset to getting top 4 makes it easier to stick with the game.

    I've said it before and I'll keep saying it, TFT is really awesome. Even in the points when I have had the least fun with TFT, all I need to do is wait a week for a patch or wait a couple months for a new set. The game is constantly changing for the sole benefit of the hardcore players. Getting into the game can be hard but it has been worth all of the time and money (gotta get those good cosmetics) I have put into it.
    Anyone who is afraid or anxious, watch any decent starter guide on how to play, and then look up any one comp that you think looks fun. Play nothing except that comp for some games and you will start to get a sense for how to play, and accept that sometimes you just won't find your units and will do poorly. It's at least how I learned and now I've been masters in two sets :D

    Okay so I started watching this video and after the last video I watched you were wondering what your TFT video didn't do as well however it seems to be doing okay now but based off of the previous ones that were uploaded a few weeks before this one I would surmise that part of the reason that it's doing fairly poorly would be the fact that for some reason I'm kind of bored I want to see the pics and the way that the editing is makes me feel like I'm somehow missing out as well as the battle simulation seems to be more drawn out than any other type of battle simulator. Which becomes a dragon at some point seeing how I'm only a few minutes into the video.

    Will be more interesting to see this again in ~2 weeks with the new set where balance is all over the place and the game isn't SUPER solved.
