The following is a quote from Usaama Al Azami, in his article in TRT quoting the great classical scholar Abu Hamid al Ghazali;
"Do not associate with princes and sultans and do not even see them and sitting in their company and associating with them is great evil. But if you are inflicted with this without choosing it, avoid praising them and complimenting them; for God the Exalted, is angered when impious and tyrannical are praised and whoever has prayed for lengthening their lives has indeed loved that God be disobeyed on His earth".

I listen to the sheikh, but he has made some questionable statements, some actions that demand reassessment of his intentions, i don't have enough knowledge to come to any conclusions. May Allah guide us.

It is such a shame that such a brilliant scholar has to sit with, support misguided scholars and leaders. I believe he has lost his way. Scholars should be independent of rulers and be able to speak the truth to them. Muslims are not free to think, to speak, to implement a system of their choosing. Our lands are being exploited by corrupt rulers who have no regard for human life as mentioned in the Quran. The cruel blood bath is a sick voyeuristic play for the evil rulers. And our man, Hamza Yusuf is taking a selfie with them!

Interesting you said some of Shek's statement was questionable but you did not point them out. And if there are differences, It is OK . we should learn to live w differences. Your jusgment. I beleive that the preserved Saints are not called incorrigible the bodies are referred to as incorruptible.
I have been there twice (swat) first year on day of prophet Muhammad s.a.w. maulid 1st snow drop on the valley where I stayed. That was amazing.. One got to do the sujud on this heaven on earth. How beautiful their hospitality... The rivers and mountains....
Abu Huraira reported: The Prophet ﷺ said, *“Nothing afflicts a Muslim of hardship, nor illness, nor anxiety, nor sorrow, nor harm, nor distress, nor even the pricking of a thorn, but that Allah will expiate his sins by it.”*

I am reading messages about Hamza Yusuf Hanson’s health on the net and that he has been afflicted with testicular cancer. Some are saying he is going through cancer treatment at present although I am not sure if it is the chemo or the surgery, whatever it may be, this must be one of hardest trails as cancer is a terminal disease that killed many people.

I knew a people (I experienced a people) who had no faults. And they preoccupied their selves with faults of others and Allah gave them faults. I know another people who had faults and they preoccupied themselves with purifying their faults and ignoring the faults of others. And Allah removed their faults....

27:50 meraj was body a d soul, nothing is difficult for Allah to take his servant to the 7 heaven and back while his bed was still hot, because salah was given directly from Allah, salah is so special it has to received is in a special place, scholars often defer among themselves, if it was a dream our prophet will say he had a dream , but he said he went.
Qur'an says it was a 'roya' which means dream, Wallahu Aalam. The word 'roya' has been translated as dream in other verses in Qur'an.
all scholars except one believe it was in spirit. not a dream but his spirit. similar to a dream if u want to see it that way, but real. so Shaykh Hamza is speaking the truth

I like the talk. But I always have a problem with scholars it's just me maybe I'm wrong if scholars defer among themselves if there is two options which one is right?. I choose to follow this principle we hear and obey Allah words.without going into interpretation.
Without going into interpretation? What is that supposed to mean? We interpret constantly. Everything is interpretation. What if your interpretation is wrong? How are you going to say to a mufasir or a mujtahid "well, you know what, I know that you learned Quranic sciences the same age I learned the alphabet, but my interpretation is still the only acceptable though". It's scary how self-absorbed Muslims have become.

You obviously didn’t understand. Muslims don’t send themselves to self destruction. If they have the ability to defeat an enemy they resist, if not they make hegira or use non- violent means like in Mekkah.
Scholars always advise to stay away from these pickets and demonstrations which brings destruction and no benefit which we have witnessed over the decades.
The scholars see the tribulations with foresight the zealous youth see it once its come and passed them

What I don't understand who is narrating the story.. if Muhammad is somewhere alone then a Christian man comes etc..who is writing this story in the hadith..it's not the Christian man, or Muhammad, so who else is there witnessing it.. it's not god because this is hadith scriptures.. I don't get it
I think you should ask a Sheikh or someone with knowledge. Be careful of wrong answers, because you need someone knowledgeable in the matter. Good luck :-)
