  • www.saddleback.com/wordsoflove - When Jesus said, “I am thirsty” as he hung on the cross, he showed his humanity as he prepared to die for our sins. As Christians, when we thirst, we are actually longing for something that only God can provide-the nourishment of his Word. We have all heard people we know say things like, “I am unfulfilled” or “my life lacks meaning.” When we hear declarations like that, it means those people are spiritually thirsty. In Part Five of the series “The Seven Greatest Words of Love,” Pastor Rick Warren teaches on “The Word of Humanity.” In this message, he explains the meaning of Jesus’ thirst, why others thirst, and how we can go about satisfying our own spiritual thirst.

I’ve been in so much pain in my life plus taking on the pain of others .... it’s so great to finally realize Jesus suffered, therefore God suffered similar pains as mine and he KNOWS how it feels!

during the passover, when the angel was passing over egypt to kill all the firstborn children, the jews that used a hyssop branch to paint their doors with lamb blood were spared. the symbolism is seen again at the crucifixtion because a hyssop branch is used to give Jesus a drink. it represents how Jesus' sacrifice on a cross spared us from the punishment we deserve for our sins. the hyssop branch is present in both examples and (i think) is a symbol of how we are spared from the repercussions of our sins. i know im 5 years too late but hope this helped hahha

Jesus Christ never claimed he is God. He certainly said he is “Son of God”. Correct definition for who is Jesus Christ is “ Son of God”. sprit need a body so son of God was in a human body.
