I played the new wrestling not too long ago and was confused about why they completely reworked the controls and made the ring so small. The old system worked fine 😩
That's all they have to do, I've said it sooooooo many times about alot of game companies..........Forward to the Past (If you know ChronoTrigger)...basically what I mean is companies need to go back to the past and see what worked then and what fans are looking for and just make a game similar to that, not exactly like that but with the same features with modern features like today's graphics and sound etc.
@@willi8 oh yes, i´m comparing a ps2 game with a n64 games, as well as i compare a ps2 2003 with todays modern wrestling games on the ps4 and i still prefer HCTP and think it is better than the games coming 17 years later (not just 3 years later). I understand No mercy has developed a cult following and i also love severall old games like smackdown 2 know your role. WWF no mercy may be impressive for the time and sure deserves to be on every top 5 wrestling games list. But there are obvious flaws on that game, including ugly character models, the entrances are pretty bad and even the controls i find it to be weird... I mean, how the heck do you conter on that game? Some say you press L, some say you have to press L and A at the same time and some even say you have to move the analog stick fast... So i guess there isnt even a 100%accurate awnser on the controls. Where´s hell in a cell? Where´s casket matches? TLC? We all had these options on smackdown 2. Sure, the season mode was better than smackdown 2 season, but no it wasnt better as HCTP. To honest with you, im not even sure this game is better than smackdown 2, let alone HCTP. So, saying this is the BEST of best is way to far optimistic in my opinion. It is a great game none the less

Oh man, this is my favorite game to date. I could only rent it from Blockbuster, at the time so everytime I got it I had to arrange the stables and fix everyone lol.

Just thinking about all the hours I spent playing this game brings me joy makes me feel floods of happiness. All the cheer shots I hit people with in the game and all the finishers from The Rock beating up Mick Foley like the I quit matching 99 just a great game
i wish i could go back in time to be a kid have no worries and play this game for hours did you know you could modify the intro for example lets say you choose KURT ANGLE edit the wrestle and make him BALD in the intro he will come out bald also you can choose any of the WRESTLERS that come out in that intro customize them to your own wrestler and it will come out in the intro take chyna customize her to a male of your creation and it will come out firing the bazooka this worked i dont know if it was because of that bug

Words like best don’t mean much to me. It’s the experience you get from a game that matters. This was the first time a wrestling game had it all: A wide variety of match types, stacked roster, multiple championship storylines, in game unlockables, and the most detailed “create a wrestler” mode of the time. Ya you have to earn money to buy things. But it wasn’t real money. More like in game currency EARNED through hours of fun yet challenging gameplay. Because in those days they sold you a Full Game.

Theres something about these THQ games that made you feel that you were actually playing a game from the attitude era, it was the music, general game presentation that felt like you were experiencing WWF in the 98-2000s. I dont feel the smackdown games did that...

That was the first batch of games produced. They recalled them all and you could swap it for a game with the delete issue fixed.
