- Today we react to a very well know Kazakh singer called Dimash Kudaibergen. He's performing in some kind of singing contest in China.
You just reacted to THE greatest vocalist of ALL time! This is a Chinese State run competition for already famous professional Chinese singers, Dimash was the first foreigner to ever to compete. This performance was downloaded 600 million times in China when the show was first aired and Dimash woke up the next day to find security guards at his hotel door! He became an overnight sensation in China and became very famous there. He spent the next 3 years touring China and his first album (ID) went platinum in 37 seconds in China and double platinum in an hour and three times platinum by the end of the day! He’s now famous all over the world with fan clubs in 140 countries. He had a sell out solo concert in London in 2018 (I think at the O2) and a sell out solo concert in New York in December 2019. He won’t sign a contract with the West as he wants control to do musically, whatever he wants to do, when he wants to do it (thank goodness for that)! I can’t imagine the West letting him sing Opera or a Kazakh folk song for example, and we would miss out on THE most amazing performances that we have had the pleasure to witness from Dimash! I hope he NEVER signs a contract with the West, we ‘dears’ (Dimash calls his fans dears, because we are very dear to him), don’t want it! Greetings from Leicestershire, England!
DR. QUDAIBERGEN At 5 years old, the youngest student in its history accepted into the most distinguished music academy in his country. Now a PhD in Composing/Musicology, he received all his degrees with honors while simultaneously maintaining a successful performing career ! A first in the industry !
Congratulations, you just witnessed the greatest vocalist alive. He’s from Kazakhstan, sings in 15 different languages (speaks Kazakh and Russian fluently, some English, and a little Mandarin), plays 8 musical instruments and is currently working on his PhD in music. His debut album released in China went platinum in 37 seconds. He has fan clubs in 180 countries. He’s been training since the age of 5, has a 6-8 octave range (depending on who you ask) has absolute pitch, and is an amazingly humble man. His mother is an opera singer and his father is a singer and producer. He sings every genre (even raps) He has many recent performances, but I would highly recommend "Sinful Passion" 2018 and then "Stranger" 2021, "Ikanaide" 2021, "Adagio" 2017, "Ave Maria". Each performance will leave you stunned.
It was rumoured that only a Chinese person could win, but Dimash got an international following after this comp so it didn’t matter. He spent a long time in China after this competition more doing pop songs, I believe. Then started the concerts with a huge concert In Kazakhstan first, followed by European venues until the pandemic halted everything. He did a digital concert for us and posted lots on you tube to keep us going and recently completed the original tour by performing in Dubai, Düsseldorf and Munich.
You've just met the best singer in the world that sings in so many different languages, has a range no other singer can touch - from bass (check out "Stranger") to higher than Maria Carey - one song he hits a D8). He came in second in the competition even though he outperformed everyone else, only because he is not Chinese.
600,000 calls crashed Hunan tvs system when he left the stage. He and his Dad left immediately, unknowing and crashed in exhaustion at their hotel. By 3 am a mob requiring police and security was growing larger and early the next morning their elevator opened to a wall of screaming fans as far as the eye could see ! He grabbed his Dad yelling Something terrible has happened, are we safe ?!! as hands pulled them to a waiting car, speeding off while the situation was explained. Again, he yelled Stop the car !! You've got the wrong guy- I'm a kid from Aktobe ! I sang one song on tv, STOP this car ! His Dad grinning, he was assured it was him. 5 years later, he laughingly told this in a tv interview, looked down for a second, up into the camera, I meant it. Brought the house down he was so serious, including me ! Always, the nascent humility of this man suddenly appears. Looked around a sec dazedly, people screaming, clapping, and grinned ear to ear. Ya gotta love him.
You've just begun to discover the world of Dimash. He is like no one else. Inredible singer....but also, quite an incredible human being. You can only benefit from knowing him and the masterful music he brings.
This was in 2017 and he has only gotten better and better. By far the best in the world. I had the fortune to see him live in New York and it was the most incredible experience ever. Found Dimash in 2017 and have listened to him every day since. Can not go a day without Dimash.

Dimash is a tenor, then soprano, then baritone, then alto. You have a full orchestra with just one person. Btw, when he takes off his earpiece you know crazy magic is gonna happen.
This song is a pearl of the French songbook is a Canadian-French cyberpunk-rock opera, called Starmania, written in 1976 by Michel Berger (French) and with lyrics by Luc Plamondon (Canada) and was immortalized in the voices of Daniel Balavoine, Diane Dufresne and Grégory Lemarchal. The theme of the song is depression and, in the 2021 version (DImash Digital Show), Dimash faithfully and brilliantly presents a sentimental and melancholic interpretation! As the singing decisions follow the original structure of the song to show the psychological instability of the distressed character: From the chest voice to the head voice and then the falsetto, the author aimed to show a broad need to overcome a long of despair and need to reach a very high perspective! Dimash, currently in his concerts, dedicates this song to his friends and acquaintances who departed this world!

The guy at the very beginning and at the dnd speaks fluent Chinese & Kazakh-he was Dimash’s interpreter. Dimash was only 22 years old in 2017; was the youngest contestant; the only foreigner; and was competing (as a wild card) against experienced Chinese singers who already had substantiufan bases. Dimash was totally unknown in China, and had no idea how the Chinese audience would react. THIS WAS THE SONG which launched his career!
Thanks for the reaction! Dimash sings in 13 langauges, his most recent addition is Japanese. In this competition he finished second. He selected a song that was not received as well, and in another epesode was recovering from a severe throat infection - so his performance was spoiled by reduced practice time (spent in medical treatments) he had actually lost his voice, being barely able to talk. Dimash was invited as a trial competitor, the judges were the 500 members of the television audience; all invited specifically because they worked with music in some fassion on a day to day basis. He is considered to be the best vocalist in the world and a master performer. He sings in 12 languages and plays many instruments. He is an exceptional singer and excels in martial arts. His mother is a world-class opera singer, and his father is also a well-known singer. He was raised by his grandparents, which is customary in his home country of Kazakhstan. He appears in front of crowds of hundreds of thousands of people and is known to give the proceeds to charity. He is a very humble and shy man. He stands at 6 ft. 3 1/2" tall and weighs 200 pounds. He was 22yrs old at the time of this performance. His first album went platinum in 37 seconds.
