    I agree. I have a 32 year old non-verbal disabled daughter. Dollywood has always been the epitome of access and accessibility. They have Disney beat by a long shot- and we do them both frequently. I say Dollywood, Universal, then Disney- in that order for accommodations. Thanks for the very informative video!

    I have nerve damage and severe arthritis in my leg. Can’t walk for longer than a couple minutes without needing a wheelchair bc its so painful. Finally after 3 years of having this I’m finally bringing myself to go on a family vacation to Dollywood. And boy has it made me a nervous wreck.
    Seriously thank you so much for putting me at ease ❤❤

    This makes me so happy! We are taking our sons (our oldest has an autism diagnosis) in early June to celebrate his kindergarten graduation and it will be our kids first theme park experience and this puts me at ease. Thank you so much!!

    As if I needed a reason to love Dolly anymore than I already do. She's truly a national treasure. Aw, parts of this video I sobbed with such happiness for Trey & your whole family. So beyond special he was able to have great memories, and be treated with wonderful care. I would let Dollywood know about the tram situation bc I bet they would improve it, it would help u be an advocate so other special needs families don't have to endure the same. All the food looked amazing!!

    We're going in April and can't wait. My nephew really likes order and structure so having a schedule for rides will be awesome for him. We really look forward to our vacation. We missed it this year and are soooo ready to get our Dolly on!

    Sounds amazing. My daughter turns 16 and we did Disney at 18 months (no autism) 2 and 3 w diagnosis and written letter from Dr and we were made to feel at guest services like we were cheaters of some sort or crazy for bringing our daughter who had two older siblings. Sounds like Dollywood has figured it out! Amazing info

    My family lives about 1.5 hours away from the pigeon forge area. We have season passes and LOVE Dollywood the fact that the park is disability friendly makes us love it even more! Happy early Birthday Trey!! 💙

    This video is so heartwarming, especially in this day and age when everyone is just so rude and unaware. I’m so happy you guys had a great trip and there are still good people out there who want to help and make others feel special.❤️❤️

      Ps I love Dolly. If you don’t have her children’s album, get it! It’s called “I believe in you” and it’s so sweet. My son and I have listened to it over and over again.

    At Disney we get a wheelchair tag to use our special needs stroller as a wheelchair (so it can go up to the ride). Does Dollywood have something similar or allow strollers to go into the lines? This was a wonderful review! Can’t wait to try Dollywood SOON!

    Your video made me emotional knowing how wonderfully your family was treated and also how you explained how you feel as a parent seeing people go out of their way to be kind to your boy. It really does mean so much. We also have a son with nonverbal autism, and i can relate so much to what you said about the double digits and crying about it later 😂! He just turned 10 and I feel exactly the same way. Wow crazy to know I’m not alone. Also I must say your personality is awesome, you made me laugh multiple times throughout the video. Definitely very informative but also entertaining, what an awesome video. Can’t wait to plan our trip with our son, especially after hearing your experience. Thank you

    Yes, agree with you completely. We took my son to Disney and he was ready to go back to the hotel. When in line and people touching and loud. He was tearing up and rubbing my arm. Dollywood would be great. He's 18 now and wants to try a park again.

    We went to Dollywood in October, my brother does not like amusement parks and loved Dollywood. I was going to ask if you had the cinnamon bread. Yes, for the Sunliner, we got right in both times and our food came quickly. We also like Auntie Gram's because everyone can eat what they like and get salads and desserts, all for one price. I also love Five Oaks Farm Kitchen--make reservations on-line there.

    Is there any advantage to purchasing the fast pass in addition to the disability pass?

    • @NicoleBurgess
      @NicoleBurgess  5 місяців тому

      IMO, no...the disability pass acts as a fast pass. Cannot remember if it was up to 6 people though it included

    I had a sneaking suspicion that you were vacationing with your sis In with Jen. Both of you all mentioned going on vacay to Tennessee and when I heard her mention it after you did my thought was "I bet she is meeting up with nicole" 😊 it looks like you all had a wonderful experience...especially trey. ❤
    And I absolutely love the candy cane earrings you are wearing in this video...so cute. Merry Christmas. 🎅

    This is amazing. Thank you for making a video! We are leaving soon to go to Dollywood with our son who is non-verbal with autism. I am a little nervous about the rides because i am not sure how he will react or even if he would want to ride them. With the pass, does he have to be on the ride (asking because if we get up there and he does not want to ride, do my other children have to go back down and get in the regular line?). This video has made our nerves relax a little more about this trip. Thank you again!

    What do you do when trey has a melt down?? How do u help him?? We love love dollywood ❤

    • @NicoleBurgess
      @NicoleBurgess  Рік тому +1

      Great question! Honestly, we find talking to him works best. We tell him repeatedly "it's going to be ok/calm down/it's alright". If my hubs is there, he holds him & repeats all those things. He usual lashes out towards us, so holding him & talking to him usual calms him quickly. He rarely has extreme meltdowns ever *thank goodness* but in those circumstances we have to let him work those out on his own...usually there is nothing we can do to reverse the severe ones.
