These are great tips. Dollywood is quickly rising to the top of our list of favorite theme parks. We love it more everytime we visit. We highly recommend it to anyone who will listen!

Dollywood/Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg are vacation destinations I have wanted to do for a long time. Every time I have mentioned doing a road trip to this area of the US my wife and kids said "you can go on your own." Unfortunately my wife and I are divorcing after 23 years together so now is a good time to go on my own.This divorce is a good opportunity to take care of some stuff on my "to do" list, Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg are high on that list along with Branson. Road trip it is! “The road goes ever on and on, down from the door where it began. Now far ahead the road has gone, and I must follow, if I can.”

I am doing, for the first time, the VIP tour because I want the full experience of behind the scenes and etc.
It’s a great tour to see all the park and get a fun experience of everything Dollywood offers!
Thanks for the tips. We'll be taking our first trip in the fall. Can you tell me, when you say to arrive early, around what time would that be considered?
It’s usually a good idea to arrive at least an hour before the posted park opening time for the day of your visit that will make sure you have plenty of time to park, ride the tram to the entrance and to make sure all your tickets are in order when the park opens.. also eat breakfast before if you typically eat breakfast since the park doesn’t serve any breakfast items

I've had a hard time figuring out parking for August 2023. Would like to purchase preferred parking with my little ones, but regular parking is the only option online. Should we buy a regular ticket, and then pay the additional fee upon arrival?

Would you recommend getting a 2 day pass as first time goers?
We definitely recommend going two days if it’s your first time and you’re able to do so… that allows you to really slow down and experience everything from food, rides, and entertainment. There really is no way to do everything in one day without feeling rushed and a lot of the entertainment (Gazillion Bubbles, Dreamland Drive In, etc..) lasts 45 mins so they can take a good chunk of park time up.
How much is the fastpass?
That depends on what TimeSaver pass you choose there are a few options .. which one were you looking at?
Were done with Disneyland and World.

Pay the 40 dollars for preferred parking, you will be glad you did when you leave the park.

Resort guests receive first time PREFERRED parking if they don't want to ride the resort trolley, not standard. That is unless they changed it this year. I've spoken to the hot on the phone and they stated they have not changed that
Thank you for letting us know! They do not have this listed on the website but we also spoke with DreamMore and they confirmed it does include preferred parking if a guest chooses to drive to the park instead of using the trolley!
