We all love this kind of classic communication
So much respect for Sky Sports for having such a great commentary panel. Indian broadcasters have so much to learn, and their coverage is barely watchable.
Sony still do a better job than star
Sony coverage is excellent. With Harsha as host they have some good cricket debates.
Exactly Indian commentary these days is unbearable especially in Hindi.
Don't be so self-loathing without any concrete reasons. I get it, you brown people still have "white skin" complex.
Star Sports mujra style commentary by Aakash Chopra and Nikhil and Irfan Pathan is an embarrassment to the profession. This 12 min discussion is what class commentary is all about, music to the ears!
I was surprised to hear about Doordarshan from Mike Atherton while referring to the ODI at Jaipur in '93. Just goes to show how well both he and Nasser know India and cricket.
Even Sashtri is very intelligent and follow games closely. He used to commentate on games not involving India which indicates his passion

You see, they prepare for the show. They just don't come and start discussing.
@@aneeshkuttan3102 Bro i don't think for talking about memories they don't need ro prepare even the people like us remember so many matches being the players and the most passionate guys like them they will remember more matches than us so they don't have to prepare much..Maybe the questions they are trying to ask others those i think they will prepare if any stats they are talking then they will just memorise them before but i don't think these kinda discussions will be like full preparing with scripts and all
We need sky sports in INDIA, nothing comes closer to the analysis these guys put up..absolutely smashing.Get them in INDIA.

Shastri is absolutely right in saying that a WC should be something grand, an event. And that is why i think that ODI format should still exist because it's the WC which makes you feel like at the top of the world.
Ravi’s 7 years were golden in Indian cricket especially with overseas tours. Although he and Virat caught lots of heat for believing and being brash and not kowtowing to the Media, the record speaks for itself. The World Cup was the only disappointment but India was a force to reckon for test cricket !!
He was coach for 7 years
we have the same problems we had when he took over a scootch back in 2015. We still have an undecided playing 11 for the World Cup yes he did enough but not good enough to leave with a stable team
They built a great team but their overseas record is overhyped. Fantastic in Australia but failed to win a single series in NZ, SA and England.

What a cricket analysis by Sky Sports.Listening to Michael Atherton and Nasser Hussain since childhood.Ravi Shastri is speaking just like a tracer bullet.Missing David "Bumble" Lloyd in the team.I disagree with Ravi Sir that bilateral T20I's should be scrapped.Maybe ICC should introduce a T20I super league like ODI super league,where win could be 5 points and 2 points for abandoned/No Result.

Ravi only speaks like a tracer bullet but his playing(both batting and bowling) was like watching cricket in slow motion

Ravi Shastri in the commentary box brought back the nostalgic memories. Since 2014 we were not able to hear Ravi's commentary. Now it is all back to good.👍
Listening Nasser Hussain is really pleasing to ears. How much of the knowledge of the game he is having

Kapil Dev is on record saying that Ravi Shastri has the chutzpah to win any game of cricket against any team and only that his cricketing talent doesn’t exist.
The no nonsense professional attitude India have developed is a combined effort- Sunny, Kapil, Azhar, Sachin, Saurav, Dravid, Kumble, MS, Shastri, Virat all contributed to the success.
I love the atmosphere of this conversation, you don't need big sets like Star Sports which mostly emphasise their brand rather than quality cricket discourse between legends.

Shastri is absolutely spot on: three formats only needed. First class, T20 and 50 over. The hundred is not needed!

Very important point of how the Fast Bowlers have developed in the Indian Cricket Team. In his tenure, especially after VK's takeover the most important change was the confidence that developed in the Bowling Unit, India have always had great batters and bowlers as well but often during Overseas series in Australia and England we used to leak a lot but with emergence of bowlers like Bumrah, Shami, kulcha at one point, Chahar and many more, the self belief just seemed to grow and grow to the level that now the team does not have only World Class batters but also World Class bowlers. The confidence that the bowling lineup has now dedinitely proves to be a differentiating point.

Really an excellent interview and very very important and significant points made by Ravi Shastri in how Indian cricket has come to where it is now and how to be conscious in shaping its future. In a way credit to Shastri from this conversation you get his measure on how his thinking guided the team too. Kudos to his thought process and guidance and hope Dravid can continue in that direction. Great questions from Atherton and Naseer.
You can tell that Ravi and Kholi really got on. They have the same energy. Rahul as a coach will need someone he can mould and shape- bumrah does seem a good option and I think he might lead well with the ball and lead by example with his pace.

With all the leagues played around , bilateral T20Is has to be scraped and only T20 wcs should happen.
This way there would be time for test cricket.
So much of T20 leagues and then bilateral T20 and then there is complain of T20 cricket overshadowing test cricket.

The 20 and 50 games are good for bringing in the fans and just as important the money as long as some of that money goes in to the the real cricket as i call test cricket.Test cricket is all about honing players skills and not just about bashing the ball to all corners and you cant call yourself a great cricketer until you have played and performed well in test cricket.
Such an interesting and thoughtful discussion that delves into not just what goes on the pitch but beyond it into administration and how cricket is being managed at the world level is so fascinating to listen to. Keep up the good work.

As india grows ,IPL keeps growing . IPL will probably peak and reach a saturation point in 2040-2050 in terms of growth and television rights in india. And then they need to expand global popularity like NBA and EPL
I hope they'll try to expand globally much earlier. Cricket being in Olympics might help to boost that cause .

How would you expand ipl globally?. You already have worldwide broadcast. I dont think ipl's gonna last till 2040. It's saturated already, i used to be huge ipl fan but now I've phased away from it.
