This is brilliant. I just drove from Colorado to AZ and my wife got annoyed every time the f150 alerts you to put your hands back on the steering wheel. I have a 2021 f150 Lariat Powerboost, I will have to give this a try!
Nice hack! I really enjoy the updates you provide on your truck, excellent work on the videos! I saw a couple of your videos where you mentioned some things that shouldn’t be happening to an $80k that I completely agree with you on. Well I bought a 2021 f150 king ranch two weeks ago and have noticed some similar “issues” I have feel vibration in the pedals, my tailgate appliqué is beginning to separate from the tailgate and today my AC went out… I could hear the compressor running but the air was luke warm and my fan speed was set to 7 and I could barely feel it coming out of the vents…. Has this happened to you? Have you had any other odd instances with your truck?
Thank you for the compliment! That sucks man! I’m sorry! Never had any AC issues tbh. Hopefully you get these issues ironed out soon. I actually have 2 2021 F150s now. The one in the video is the one I bought 2 days ago and am driving back to California (3.0 diesel). This one thankfully doesn’t have the issues my first one had (all of which were fixed).
@@PlatinumPeasant yes sir, hopefully they get resolved soon! Congratulations on the new truck! I’m curious to see how the new Diesel engine performs! Keep up the great work!
Nice, is this equipped with the copilot 360 2.0 assist package or the active with blue cruise? I am about to put in my order for a 2022 platinum in carbonized gray with the 6.5’ bed
It looks like your truck is set for blue cruise, just missing the update. Will that work I wonder with an XLT with the 302A high package and co-pilot 360 assist 2.0? I just ordered that truck. My current 2021 XLT has lane keep assist (no adaptive cruise) but it bounces the truck back and forth between the lines and doesn't actually keep the truck centered.
@@PlatinumPeasant no I definitely wouldn't have the prep kit for blue cruise. The co-pilot 360 "active" 2.0 is required for blue cruise and that's not an option on the XLT. I don't have the eye sensors either. But the only difference, as far as I understand, between the "assist" and the "active" are those sensors which aren't activated in your truck anyway. I just am not sure if there is a difference between my current lane keeping in my 2021 xlt and the lane keeping in the 2022 that allows it to stay centered in the lane. My current truck just bounces back and forth between the lines
Do you not have all the options for self driving? Mine has everything but the retina cameras and I thought about hanging a small weight like you did but I still find the truck doesn’t always stay in the lane
I have my doubts that the cameras can really sense a retina. I have a Mach-e and the "driver attention" camera doesn't warn me when I'm wearing dark, or even mirrored sunglasses. I suspect it's looking for two roundish orbs spaced similar to eyes.
@@rickyflores4070 I now own a new truck with bluecruise. This is just assist with lane keeping and adaptive cruise. Blue Cruise is different and hands free.
@@PlatinumPeasant I thought you had that download ford is developing for self driving. My platinum has that option for the future. I read it was going to cost about $600 or so. 😥

It was so helpful driving back from Iowa to California. Over 50% of my trip, I didn’t have my hands on the wheel with this little hack
I just picked up my 2022 Lariat and have been playing around with Blue Cruise. It makes me uneasy cause it’s like to ride close to the dotted lines.
It can be a little all over the place at times for sure.
@@PlatinumPeasant does your move side to side in the lanes?
@@czwhat328 occasionally but not much.
So this can take you anywhere as long as you have an ankle weight on it?
That some National Lampoon's Vacation stuff there🤣

Curious if other weights would work, or is 2.5 lbs the sweet spot?
same, 1lb would be less bulk if it works

Is this Blue Cruise or just the Co pilot assist 2.0?
That’s what im wondering

Wyoming/ Nebraska.
