Engineer here. I think the priority here should be to release the revised filter assy unit to market, as any lint escapement deeper into heat pump unit cannot be ‘cleaned’ without disassembly.
Don’t know why the sealing the filter circumference with heat resistant sealant is discouraged. If the reduced air flow due to higher pressure loss across the filter is of concern, just retest for drying function and durability with the new configuration.

I'm very meticulous when it comes to maintaining my machine. What I found works really well is I use an air compressor to blow off any lint. Cleans it way better than what's shown in the video. I've done them both

We recommend closely following the cleaning instructions as stated in the Use and Care Manual (spklr.io/6057SGF3) starting on page 19 in the "Filter Compartment" section.

Thank you!!! You just made me remember I forgot we recently got a compressor tool that blows the air but not the cold can type if that makes sense 😊 Like a blow dryer but cool air and stronger.
I have never enjoyed doing laundry until now. I've kept up with folding too! 😊 I’ll give a review soon but so far I love it and figured out how best to use it for us.
Call me crazy but I got 2 combo machines and put them side by side inches apart. The deep gray color is so slick looking.
I really appreciate your tip and I could always step outside to use the air blower out there too 😊
I am going to go try that. I also need to check if my narrow vacuum piece will fit to use that too. I do have a manual cleaner tool too so that’s a good tool to keep near the machines hanging on a wall hook.
Thanks again reminding me about carefully using an air tool on my deck 😁
(tip- about drying. For me the towels button is a higher dry instead of the normal button that is a medium dry. The normal button works better for me with maybe t-shirts but usually pants are in the wash with shirts or towels or linens so I’m usually using the towel button I think it is)
I am checking though if in the app I can make my own settings as I like normal for wash, but higher for drying which would be maybe a custom setting.
      Thanks again!

Are there any plans to redesign the filter to stop the lint from getting past the filter? There are many mods out that do solve the issue, just curious.

Our Combo was robustly designed to be fully capable of handling any lint that may make its way past the lint filter and accumulate on surfaces within the filter compartment while still operating with high efficiency. This is why we confidently offer a 5-year warranty on the heat exchanger. In the Owner’s Manual, we recommend periodic, gentle cleaning of the filter compartment using a vacuum with a slim crevice tool attachment or with our Appliance Brush Set (part number PM14X10056). The Combo provides notifications via the unit’s control panel when cleaning of the lint or foam filter is required. Typically, notification for the lint filter occurs every 5 cycles and notification for the foam filter occurs every 50 cycles. Because of the tech-forward design of our Combo, simply following the regular maintenance and maintenance intervals described in the Owner’s Manual will keep your unit running strong for years to come!

I see water condensation drops at the rear of the filter compartment when I go to clean the area. Is this normal? Also the two brushes to clean the filter areas have a rubber tip on them that do not let you access the rear of the area good. Do you sell a vacuum hose attachment?

Anytime a wet load is going through a high spinout, there will be an opportunity for some moisture to circulate through the air system and land on or around the lint filter. This is normal and goes away while running a dry cycle. We do not sell a vacuum hose attachment. However, small attachments such as the one on a vacuum will work! Multiple online retailers offer a vacuum extension as well.

Good info. Can we use a garden spray to clean the condenser coil and then do a rince and dry? Is it safe?

We would not recommend using water for cleaning. We would suggest following the cleaning video guide and tips below. There is a link to an article that we have that will explain in detail how to clean that properly. spklr.io/6056U7p0
      Clean the Heat Exchanger:
-Brush off any lint that has accumulated on the fins by moving the brush up and down and also by spinning the brush.
-As needed throughout this cleaning, slowly pull the appliance brush out of the lint filter opening while standing off to one side and being careful, as lint may become airborne when the brush bristles exit the opening.
-Clean the brush by shaking it into a garbage can or outside the home. If any lint remains in the brush after shaking, pull it off with your hand or a towel.
-When done cleaning with the appliance brush, vacuum any accumulated lint in the filter area using a narrow attachment, being careful not to bend or damage the fins of the heat exchanger.
-In addition to the extension provided with your vacuum, you can use longer extensions that will work better to reach all the areas of the lint filter compartment. These longer vacuum extensions can be purchased at multiple online retailers.

GE has a poor design. There are solutions out there to fix the problem and make it operate the way it should. Lint Bypassing a lint filter is sort of ridiculous. I have used the solutions out there and have 100% resolved lint collecting on the coil. People are going to do more damage trying to brush a aluminum coil that they cannot see. What age group do you think is going to go in there and try to clean this?
The comment about the machine can run with excessive amounts of lint inside. It is absolutely ridiculous.

When I clean the filter area I see water condensation drops at the rear of the compartment. Is this normal? Also the cleaning brushes have a rubber tip on them that do not let you reach the rear of the compartment effectively. Do you sell a vacuum attachment for this?
