  • In today’s video I talk about why some foodservice drivers stop running cases to become shuttle drivers instead. Truck drivers coming into the foodservice game can either be a delivery driver delivering cases to customers or become a shuttle driver. Watch the video to find out why I think some foodservice delivery drivers switch over to become shuttle drivers. Remember to LIKE COMMENT & SUBSCRIBE!!!

    Food service is young man's work. Did it with Sysco for 11 years running routes. Now with Old Dominion running linehaul.

      Does Ben E Keith pay decent for shuttle position ? I got an interview with them

    • @petegil3
      @petegil3 Рік тому

      @@bryantsteven1994 I think it’s more than decent. It all depends on how far you are driving and how many drops you are doing. I drive just a little over 4hrs 1 way. So they pay me for 1 drop but most of my pay is the distance. If they give me an additional stop on the return back, they will pay extra for that additional drop. Some drivers will only travel 1 hr so their pay for that drop is less than me, but they will do several “runs” so that will add up to close to what I get or possibly more. What location are you interviewing for?

    Foodservice drivers stop running cases n become shuttle driver because after so many years running cases it gets old running cases get old really quick n you also start getting older n just don’t feel like running like a young man anymore.I did food service since I got my car at 23 to age 36 then I got do no touch freight and now I wish I ran cases for a few more years but it don’t work that way

      How many hours do you have to work to make 1500 a week? Is it before or after taxes? These are questions you have to consider. Alot of people bragged that make so much money a week but they didn't tell you how many hours they had to put in to make that kind of money.

    Do food guys got it easier than the one that deliver to gas station truck stops.company like ht hackney and core. How is interactions with customer on both sides,as if they help or just stay out of the way or get free food or drinks type of stuff

    • @imanthonytv
      @imanthonytv  3 роки тому +3

      That’s a good question. I’ve seen core mark & hackney make deliveries and they’re usually dropping off totes of miscellaneous items like cigarettes, tobacco, etc so we may have it a little harder than those guys but they still work hard. I think the customer interactions are similar but those store clerks have to check to make sure they have everything on their invoice before they leave the store in all stores. Foodservice guy’s don’t have to wait on customers to check in the product at every stop so it’s much less interactions with customers. For example all of my stops are key drops meaning I have the keys to the customers I deliver too, so I just unlock the doors after hours and drop off my cases lock up and leave.

    How important do you think dieting is? Doing this line of work? I eat healthy and drink strictly just water for the most part but do you have any suggestions? like what to eat before your shift or afterwards for recovery?

    • @imanthonytv
      @imanthonytv  3 роки тому +3

      I think healthy eating habits is beneficial to your overall health regardless of the job so if you have the discipline to eat healthy then absolutely do so. However, I’m not on any diet nor do I eat healthy 24/7. I usually eat some fruit or have a protein shake either before my shift or during the route at some point. End of shift I’ll eat whatever I’m feeling at the time. Eating healthy is obviously important to your overall health in general but not necessarily something a person would have to do in order to do the job in my opinion. At least not 24/7.
