Still a shady ass move on XTB part to charge for this. They could've at least included the Shells to go along with the Trailer or hell make this kit as a PO bonus for the 1st batch. Also for the shells they might as well should've made shells for the leg bots to better match the proportions of the upper body.
@@i.still.function3463 not sure. Once I get it back it's all going back together and staying that way. Also gonna see if I can get replacement from XTB.
I agreed with you and thankfully waited. The upgrade kit should have been included with the pricey trailer. It was because of that price tag that I decided to wait. The youth version came with what I felt was a better looking Menasor frame (outside of maybe the head sculpt) and the upgrade kit included for less than the more cartoon accurate version that came out first.
It's the lower half of the figure that needs beefing up, not the arms. The least I expected from such a pricy kit would be some mounts that put the leg bots on the front.
Maybe this is an unpopular opinion, but I wish someone just made action figures for combiners in this scale. It seems that is what the partsforming crowd would like out of a combiner. Then the actual bots could stick to the all-in-one formula that I want, and if someone wanted a perfect example of the combiner for display, the action figure option would be cheaper to make and hopefully buy. This set is not for me obviously, but I try to keep an open mind and expose myself to all sides. Still, looking at all the work involved, and all the pieces you have to buy, the idea of just getting a big action figure that does not transform seems to make sense.
Action figures are not for everyone. I love the combine mode with the parts forming pieces. It allows the fun of transformation along with display ability. I always transform my figures and this set is great in all modes ( even the base mode looks great next to prime and his base
@6:19 it's not really a communicator, it's the remote controller Megatron used in season 2 to field test the Stunticons before Vector Sigma gave them personalities. Basically they were remote controlled toy cars for a short time, lol.
It's a steal nothing more and the combiner looks better without any of it. X-Transbots are starting to get on my nerves, I'm this close to give up on my preordered Springer and buy a MMC Saltus instead. I really need to watch a XT-XI Virtus final color production sample review. Thanks for the review Mr. Skullface

might as well make non transformable chucks to just replace Dragstrip and Deadend, like that you could have Menasor alone as Motormaster and the legs are not visible either way.
No lie!! Your conclusions are like Poetry! I feel like maybe you are an English teacher! Great Great review!! Definitely nice add on kit! But I agree! I personally don't think it needs it. As always great video review Bobby S.
Well , to me looks like Menasor got some roids. Big arms... I agree that any upgrade should be to the legs. A stick on application of some sort. Thanks Skully as always great work.
Not really a fan of the add-ons. Thank-you Bobby, for showing how they go on. First time I have seen the process of putting them on. Glad I passed in the extras. Thanks for the video.
I'm wondering if XTB did this accessory kit as a way to get back some of the money they lost on the first figure release, when they slashed prices to undercut the knockoffs...
Thanks for the review Bobby! I purchased this add on set fir the faces but wish I would have skipped it. I personally think the car pieces are a joke and where made to up the price.
With the exception of me loving how the shells look on both sides, I agree 100% with everything else. The guns are cool but appeal to the toy look....which is a completely separate set. The shells look great to some, but are very much for the toon accurate look which will suck for those completing their "youth version" sets wanting the accessories for the guns and being stuck with the shells. Some really bad decisions went into this.
Good point about trying to hit a price tag. I hadn't thought of it that way. I will be skipping this kit. Not questioning that decision at all. I still can't wait for the trailer though.
I bought two trailers because Motormaster needs it in his alt mode. I got one in from Agabyss, but still waiting for the other one and the add on kit from TCP. I can’t wait to swap out the Menasor face with the toon accurate one. The rest of the stuff in the pack I will try out but I have a feeling most of them I won’t use.
The price is high for pieces that don't do much. If they had just done the faces and effects parts then they probably could have afforded to include them with the trailer. However if you break down the price like you did in your recent video that talked about the mark up and profit it makes sense: $75/2 = $37.50 so the distributor paid $37.50 per kit; $37.50/2 = $18.75 so XTB paid $18.75 per kit to create the molds + pay for materials + pay for labor + pay for the packaging + all other overhead. Not unreasonable to me if the consumer is going to use all the pieces and enjoy the pieces. The guns are really just for the toy version and should be with the toy version of the trailer. On that note they also should have made the standard trailer just be alt mode and combine mode at a lower price, then do the toy version with extra engeneering for base mode and parts to clip the cars on front + everything that comes with the standard version and charge the full price. Yes that sucks for those getting the toy version, but it's justified because you pay more to get more. I got this set just in case I want some of it. I will use the effects parts...and maybe the faces.
At first I was kinda bummed out with the trailer and add-ons price but with the issues i have had with qc regarding this set the price stopped me from rushing to preorder it. Hopefully they will improve the trailer or I will keep them for alt mode set.
They didn't drop the ball (with this AND the trailer, particularly regarding price-gouging and lies), so much as they spiked it directly downwards into a pit.
I don't know how to feel about the Power Rangers final battle gun they have going on but everything else looks decent enough, just not at that price point.
Not in on this XTB set, not really sure why they had to have this separate I’m don’t like any of the add on kit with the exception of the G1 toy guns which brought back memories when you had them all kitted out with the weapons in vehicle mode, but that wouldn’t be enough for me to buy the set if I was invested in the XTB Menasor
I have a punk ass question...it seems with the shell pieces on the arm that you dont need the arm bots to achieve the look, I know that it will look dumb unfilled, but if you missed the car bots or just want a whole combiner for 325 it maybe an option?
It seems like all of the MP scaled 5 team combiners have this issue with the team leader torso bots. For the most part, they just fold into a cube and fit in the back of the combined mode torso shell.
What makes the whole thing worse is that XTB initially said much of the upgrade kit WAS included with the trailer then changed their mind in order to charge more
They were supposed to be once upon a time but they got the brilliant idea of selling them separately. And of course people bought it anyway so they made the right decision (for them). I feel bad to an extent but the people who ended up buying this validated their decision to do it. Oh well.
@@UnicronsLeftNut Well they invest so much money and time, if you have the bots of XTB for cheaper option and all the others are either double the price or sold out, you kinda have too. But the reputation of XTB was enough for me to stay away from that combiner, either DX9 or FansToys.
This was the biggest waste of money I've ever made on any MP figure. Opened the box, had a look, realised I needed NONE of this and haven't looked since. Basically XTB scammed us with this. Boycott them.
Meh, boycotts don’t work. If they got their shit together and started making stuff that’s worth the money they charge, the fandoms memory would become real blurry real fast. Just make your product worth what you charge!!! Not a hard concept. When you follow this car crash up with the dumpster fire that is Locke, you get what you deserve.
@@mikehock5285 true dat. I'll vote with my wallet and go FT unless they seriously improve. Shame, I liked and bought thier skids and seaspray and thier springer looks good too
because they made those as options not a fix. Probably how they envisioned the combiner but can not pull it off without so much part-forming. So, release as "add-on", people feel better and they can charge more.
Well... Idk what to say. I bought the trailer and the add on set for completion purposes. But I will never buy an xtb product again. I also regret not buying the fans toys set. Oh well...
I thought you would've went harder at them on this particular set, especially due to the issues with the proportions. The figure is already top heavy with long arms and weird leg proportions. This set only makes those proportions even worse. The base set without the addons is by far and away the better of the two options for combined mode. This set should be an easy pass for anyone going in on XT for their combined mode.
That this was meant to be included with the trailer is the worst part. It's a bait-and-switch. They promised that the car shells, at least, would come with the trailer for the longest time, and then pulled this stunt at the last minute. Even the trailer's instructions show the base mode with the guns attached, and all their marketing material led us to believe the guns were also included with the trailer. And then this $75 rip-off happened and I noped out of the set. X-Transbots can kiss my ass.
This was supposed to come with the set but the fandom cried “NO SHELL PARTS “ so there was a reply from CTB that they were removing the shell parts. I saw this on TFW2005 from xtb.
Those upgrade arm panels are totally unnecessary, it makes him look like those fools who inject their arms to look bulkier but his legs are still the same. Waste.

The 8 extra faces for Motormaster all look like single frames from a speaking animation...
It’s actually everyone’s reaction to how much this thing costs
