    Top performers will fall to average performer or remain out performer. But average performer will not rise to top performer. So aim the sky (top performers), at least we will get avg performance!

      lol! "But average performer will not rise to top performer" this is an assumption without data. Easy for me to put some nos, but I am happy to aim for the ground and stay on the ground

    • @pattufreefincal

      That seems obvious but what practically happens is peple leave units in the old top perfromer and buy a new top performer and keep cluttering up their portfolio

    Sir, there seems to be some discrepancy in the excel sheer right in the beginning. The difference between the annual returns of direct and regular plans seems to be varying too much. Moreover their werent many direct plans before 2013.

    • @pattufreefincal
      @pattufreefincal  5 років тому +1

      What direct plan regula plan? HOw is it relevant here? I have only used funds with a 10Y annual return history. So obviously no direct plan would have featured here

    Can we draw conclusion on the basis of cpk value of monthly returns for past 5 years of s fund?

      What is cpk? There are definitely more rigorous way to generate the same data, but considering I have reproduced this result over 3 different time periods (see link) above, I am fairly confident of at least the conclusions which are quite frankly nothing more than commonsense

    If I chose funds with 24%+ in first 5 years they have better performance i.e above 14% in next 5 years, its like 5star became average but not below average.
    Anyway the sample size is small so we can't make any statistically significant decision based on this.
