Funny. My way is completely different. First I get rid of the six island nations, two on the west (Cape Verde and Sao Tome), then four on the east. I take the big one Madagascar first, then it's CSM (Comoros, Seychelles and Mauritius). To start with mainland Africa I have an old acronym that kicks it off: MATLE (Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya, Egypt) Then I follow the coastline till Somalia before taking an inland turn with the big inland countries: Ethiopia, South Sudan, Central African Republic, Chad, Mali and Burkina Faso. Then I go back to following the coastline, this time the western path: Mauritania, Senegal, Gambia, the two Guineas, Liberia Sierra Leone, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Togo, Benin, Nigeria and Cameroon. Now you're past the hard part. If you can just nail the western coast line the rest is easy. Again follow the coast line from Equatorial Guinea to Kenya. The only thing left are the inland countries south of the Sahel region. First, three -nd- countries Uganda, Rwanda Burundi..make this a rhythm..Uganda, Rwanda Burundi - Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi-, then there's sole Malawi. Then there's Zambia, Botswana, Zimbabwe...only two countries left: the tiny countries enclaved or partially enclaved in South Africa: Lesotho and Eswatini. It may sound complex to do it this way, but believe me, it makes sense, and you'll learn the actual geography as well. I do the whole world this way and it works perfectly.
Honestly I find that the best way to remember them long term is to learn about the countries themselves. It helps so much when you know basic facts about each place.
I like to think of it like a Benign tumor in Africa’s armpit (sounds bad but I mean no Ill intent haha) and Togo is small and and hard to see and for some reason I think of the story of Togo and how his story was overshadowed by Balto’s idk why but that’s how my brain works lmao

Benjamin Brown the opposite happened to me. I have forever been trying to learn these countries by trying to learn small sections but it wasn't sticking. For some unknown reason with the way he did it I instantly learned the A's and B's and other then knowing Algeria already I didn't know them. People's brains work so differently I guess. I just found this video so I don't know yet whether this method will keep working but I am hopeful.
I remember half of the countries like this: I once went to my friends house and saw a MAT that I liked so I said "LEMME have it!" but it completely SLED by me to be polite, he also had 3 GUINEA pigs. He said "No, but do you want TO GO somewhere?", he continued "like somewhere we've never BEeN IN? With a CAR we'll go to SUSAN and to the SOUTH?", I replied "That's a big STEP. I don't think I'd be able to do that", he said "Come on! It's not DaRK, the only fear you have is of the dark!", "Correct. Well apart from my fear of heBAGON", "What is a hebagon or a hegabon? I have no idea how to say it." "Sorry, CHAD, I meant to say hexagon, CAMEROON-colored ones to be exact" So, what happened? First off, MAT. MAT, as in Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia. Then comes LEMME. This one is a bit more complicated. Libya, Egypt, Mauritania, Mali, and then Ethiopia! Then came SLED. This one is a little confusing -- South Africa + Somalia, Lesotho, Eritrea + eSwatini and Djibouti 3 GUINEA is pretty straight forward, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Equatorial Guinea Then he asked me if I wanted TO GO somewhere. Also straightforward, togo. BEEN IN as in BENIN. With a CAR (Central African Republic) We'll go to SUSAN (Sudan) and to the SOUTH (South Sudan) Then I said that's a big STEP (Sao Tome and Principe) He told me It's not DaRK (DRC) Then, comes CORRECT. you need to know exactly how to decode this. If you don't sound out the vowels you get "CRRCT", If we add the O back on we get "CORRCT", do you see it? Those are the letters of "ROTC", Republic Of The Congo. "Hebagon" tricks the other person into saying "HeGABON", giving us gabon. Chad and Cameroon are the only ones that are easy to see.
I find this suboptimal. You should use a better technique because the time it takes you to lern you can also incorporate the location of the countries and the captial cities. I start with south africa, because it is obvious to remember. then I go counter clockwise in a circle and use the loki method to remember the country and the capital city. For the loki method use for example a familiar place like your house or your neighborhood and place things and persons in familiar places. For example I walk out the door of my house and the first thing I see is a tree. I imagine a boat(botswana) with Zsa Zsa Gabor (capital Gaborone) sitting in it while the boat is bound on a treebranch. I walk further in the same direction an next I see a my garden fence. I imagine Nami (from One Piece) (Namibia)sitting on the fence and wearing a Hook on her Hand, like a pirate and being almost blown of by the wind (Windhoek). And so on. Ofc you have to do this for yourself and make it ridicoulous, loud, funny, obscene, emotional and crazy. Use smells, sounds, feelings, you can do whatever you like. You will remember it for a long time and if you retrace your "mindpalace" periodically you can easily remember it for you whole life.
I picked up the A's and B's without any effort but with his story telling for the C's I didn't pick up a single one. I thought this was going to be my video but I am sadly going to have to find a different video. He should have made 2 videos. Each one using its own method and then people could choose which video they wanted to use. I feel sad about leaving but I have no choice.

I do them alphabetically too - for E, I remember Egypt, then the second letters are QRST: Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, eSwatini, Ethiopia.
15schaa 15schaa Thanks. That is really helpful.
Yall have memoirzing techniques? I just do the quiz over and over again until it's burned into my brain 😹

"There's only a couple of A's and a couple of B's". The moment I realised I was wasting my time.
😂😂

@@katiekat4457 the method is neither here nor there. The point is that there are many more than 2 A's and 2 B's
Benjamin Brown True. I missed your point in the beginning but I understand what your point was now. Have a nice day 😁,
Thank you ! , this was helpful.

The way I remember DRC is by making it Dr. Congo
The name Eswatini means "land of the Swazis" in the Swazi language. You lost me when you suggested it was simply a marketing ploy.
I have learnt all the Capitals and Countries of the world.
@Daniel Vigna I just practiced to be honest
I have learned all the countries and flags and i am now working on the capitals. I am half way there :)
Weird flex but ok
me too, but not the capitals
Also, I think eSwatini's name change was to celebrate the king turning 50.
Yeah I think it’s called swaziland now
@@samshankar9413 no, it changed its name from Swaziland to eSwatini.

It's annoying that you can't really see what he's typing properly, there's a delay and you don't get to see the full country name.
I gotta 100% on that one
The Seychelles is pronounced "Say shells"
I want Ben (benin) in Jerry’s togo (Togo)
Just do it and Repeat a funk ton of times.
I'm 13 and learnt africa in 1 day
Oh to be young again and retain knowledge!😅
That was me more than 30 years ago!😂
Sorry, you look like my old teacher from 4th grade
Mr.darren
I use the countries of the world song
Wakanda forever

BOTSWANA!!!!!!!!~~~~~~~~~~~~
So if you look at Botswana and South Africa upside down it sort of looks like a robot. So I remember Botswana by “Bots wanna eat” :)
