The thing with Genshin impact cosplays is: they all, ALL (including dokidoki!!!) concentrate on producing the cosplay as fast as possible to stay up to date. Every hype, every release that is announced will be taken care of but they don’t think like cosplayers. „How to wear it?“ „how much should it be able to endure while wearing it?“
I‘ve always bought the cheapest ones since the very beginning to save money for fabrics and than started to refurbish the bought cosplay. The first one I actually did all by myself was shenhe. I didn’t enjoy a single version of any brand. So I got started with my (no jk) first selfmade cosplay ever.
Being in the need to add push buttons, zippers, clips and even replace pieces with sturdier material is basically normal these days. Beyond years the cosplays were more easy. No weapons, gears, Armor or this much detail.
Skirt, shirt, bow, socks and wig. That was it😅
Now look at Diluc or even Alhaitham 😵‍💫 not to mention all the elden ring costumes to come

When I saw that center piece fall off I cried for you, its a shame coz some of the detailing is really lovely

yeah I like overall how a lot of it looks so I'm sad how low quality some of it actually is! I sewed it back together and basically replaced all the safety pins on this outfit with sewing small stitches to keep a lot in place. Watching me slowly descend to madness as more breaks off me is an experience lol.

i know it stinks to spend money on something that doesnt end up the way u expected but at least its a good base to add detailing / work off of !! id say with a few adjustments it'd look great!

I actually spent a long time altering and fixing things on this, and he does look a lot better! I even added bits to make him anemo lol. It was just a lot of work and time on it 😔 But he looks so much better! One of my favorite genshin cosplays now!
