    So glad I saw your video! I had been brainstorming for a solution that didn't break the bank or require drilling holes and mounting something to the boat permanently, and this is the ultimate answer. I will be making one for my 12 foot jon boat this weekend. 👍

      @Sk8Riffer  Рік тому

      @@Sk8Riffer - I made it today. I liked it so well I'm gonna make another for the front of the boat tomorrow, and use the 10 inch pneumatic swivel casters so I can steer it. My boat is the same width as yours, only 12 foot long instead of 10, and with a 1/4" plywood floor covered in camouflage foam. I also have a 6hp 4-stroke outboard, a 3-gallon tank, a 30lb thrust trolling motor, a lightweight LiFePO4 battery, and either one or two clamp-on swivel seats, depending on whether or not Wifey or a friend tags along. The boat loaded with everything weighs approximately 275 pounds, but it is rare that I end up taking everything along. Most trips don't require the heavy outboard and fuel tank. If I am interpreting the specs correctly, every wheel is rated for 300 pounds, so four wheels = 1200lbs, meaning I should be good even if I do bring everything, at least on fairly smooth ground and if I am careful to distribute the weight evenly for the trip to the water. If it doesn't work out, I know my old self can at least manage the 125lb empty boat better, or maybe even the boat and just the 52lb outboard motor. Everything else is easy enough to carry, even if I must make several trips.
      Anyway, thanks again, and wish me luck!

      I made the front ones. It all works great. I can push the boat along very easily, even for long distances over less than perfect terrain, even with everything in it. The only issue is that putting them under the boat is a two person job, because they fall over if someone isn't holding them in the upright position till the boat's weight comes down on them, and one person just can't pull it off. No big deal. Probably gonna just build "kickstands" from short pieces of bent all-thread rod and attach them to the boards with a couple of U-nails so they can flip up and down as needed. once the boat is on them it is very easy to strap them on.

    • @Sk8Riffer
      @Sk8Riffer  11 місяців тому

      @@ralphcantrell3214 yeah that can be an issue if the boat is big. Mine works fine for just one person luckily

    That's a cool idea! I was looking for jon boat dolly ideas where you don't have to drill holes in your boat. Not only does this fit that bill but it'd half the price at least of a regular dolly

    • @Sk8Riffer
      @Sk8Riffer  5 місяців тому +1

      @@FreedomFishing so I use it just to get down to the water. My local isn’t really a proper launch, it’s more rocks and mud. I’ll usually take it off right at the water and push the boat it. It’s on muck so it doesn’t do much damage to the bottom of the boat. If you scroll through my latest vids, I did a ton of upgrades to the Jon boat including hurculiner on the bottom, so that also helps protect the boat
