How To Change a Tailgate Lock | 2004 Toyota Tundra

I could never work the tailgate lock since buying my used truck, and found an off-brand replacement on Ebay for $50 vs the $120 part from Toyota. Watch and see how easy it is to replace this lock cylinder! I'm guessing this is pretty similar on many trucks, at the very least the 2002-06 Tundras.

You can take the cylinder to a locksmith and they can rekey it to you ignition key. 😉

I have to replace mine on 2002 Tundra that I just purchased used ... looks like I'll be ordering the one on EBay as well $48.62 ... I also saw one on Amazon for $44 and some change .. thanks for sharing
