Another great video of one of Sydneys beautiful beaches. The view to Wedding-Cake-Island and further on to the far horizon is spectacular, and so is the zoom to the other places. Thank you for sharing, Grant! I very much enjoyed it.
Thanks Rolf, I was testing certain zoom settings and with the clips I ended up with, I thought would be worth uploading, I was quite happy as it doesn't lose too much quality at the end of the zoom. It has another setting, 1500x but that will have to wait for another day, possibly in the country where I can view something 5 to 10kms away. Glad you enjoyed and thankyou for watching 🙂
Glad you found the zoom test beneficial, it's a good camera, very happy with it and Coogee beach was a good setting to test it out. Thanks for watching and commenting 🙂
Yes, it's pretty simple, I did some experimenting on the various zoom mode settings (24 Optical, 32 Intelligent Digital, 70 Digital and beyond), you will get the feel of it. Also, depending on the conditions of the day, sometimes you can get what's called "Atmospheric Distortion" where you will see what looks like heatwaves, doesn't matter what the camera is, it affects all cameras and nothing to worry about. I did a plane spotting video called Sydney Kingsford Smith Airport Australia - Activity if you want to see a sample of it plane spotting. I hope to do another one soon, I have since bought a tripod so it will be a lot smoother. Sorry if this is a bit long winded but hope it helps.
@@grantar7790 no no this is perfect !! Appreciate your time to write this details !! I’m about to do my first plane spotting today !! I’ll most definitely check that video you said right now !!!
Holy moly 0:09, is that 90x? How did you not make it get blurry or shaky? Please tell me what setting you use or what you did to make it look good like that. I'm planning to get one of these for carspotting in the summer. Tbh you are the only guy on UA-cam with an amazing view zoom on a camera like that. I will definitely like this video and subscribe to it. Can you transfer video from a camcorder to your phone?
I had it on automatic mode, no particular setting except 4K at 30fps, I also had it set to no further than 70x. I haven't had many issues with focusing, it focuses a lot better than the Nikon P1000 and it performs very well in that respect. I think I have another 4 or 5 videos shot with this camera, I have included the name of the camera in the titles if you want to check them out. You could also do some more research before buying but I am happy with mine and it should work quite well with what you want to do with it. Hope this helps.
Thanks, I just subscribed to your channel as well. As far as transferring video from the HC-VX1 to your phone, that's a good question, if I find out, I will let you know.
On the v160, the screen is not visible at all when shooting outside the house during the day. Is the v180 the same regarding the screen? Do you have information?
I'm not familiar with the Panasonic V160 and the V180, sometimes on sunny days, I too can have trouble with the glare on the Panasonic HC-VX1 screen but I can tilt the screen and sometimes that corrects it.
I have two questions. Thank you very much when you reply. 1. Can we pause and reshoot while shooting video on this camera? 2. Is it possible to hold the camera in one hand and shoot? It seems a little big to me compared to other Panasonic cameras. For example, I have HC v160. very gentle and light. I can wear it on the belt of my trousers and carry it.
You can place the HC-VX1 on pause by pressing the record button and then shoot again and the camera is light enough to hold in one hand. Having said that, there are some things to consider, your camera has some amazing stats, it is 181 grams compared to the HC-VX1 which is 428 grams. Your camera's dimensions are 53mm wide x 114 length x 60mm height, the HC-VX1 is 68mm wide x 142 Length x 77mm height. Your camera has a 77x Intelligent and a 38x Optical zoom while the HC-VX1 has a 32x Intelligent and a 24x Optical. The reason I bought the HC-VX1 is it shoots at 4K. There is nothing wrong with Full HD (1080P) so if you are happy with Full HD, you are better off sticking with the HC-V160, I was quite impressed with what it offers and it is so compact, it ticks a lot of boxes. Hope this helps :)
@@grantar7790 hc-v160 is full hd but the image quality is not good. It records in 1080i. It would have been better if it recorded in 1080p. Also, it is very difficult to see the details on the screen when zooming and shooting in daylight. The screen is not sharp. It has a faint screen. But there is nothing to say about its lightness. I can wear it with a holster on my trousers belt and carry it. I recently shot at a wedding. His appearance drove me away from him. I think it would record better images if it was at least a hc-v380 or hc-v785.
HELLO. I finally purchased the Panasonic VX1 4K Ultra HD Camcorder (HC-VX1EG-K). My first impressions are that the zoom performance and daytime shots are very good. However, night shooting doesn't seem to meet my expectations. In some comments, it was said that this camera has the feature of pausing and resuming the video without stopping. But I couldn't do it anyway. I need information on how it is done.
Congratulations on your purchase, I'm sure the good points of this camera will outweigh the not so good points. Once you have pressed the record button, press it again and it will indicate pause on the led screen. In saying that, when you resume the recording, I found out it will make a separate video which suits me as I then don't have to split the video in my editing software. There may be a setting which will make it a continuous video but I'm not sure, the cameras I have used don't seem to have that function. I have yet to test it fully at night or in low light conditions but there are a whole lot of "Scenes" you can set it to, one being night scenes and the other is low light scene. I guess you could also adjust it manually to suit a low light scene but I haven't learnt how to do that. You could search UA-cam by typing in Panasonic HC-VX1 low light test and something may come up.
to buy a v180 when there is a v160? Actually, I want to upgrade to a higher model. I want it to be 1980p or 4k. I'm undecided between Panasonic HC-V785K and Panasonic HC-VX1. There is also a big price difference. Which one do you recommend for zoom? HC-V785K? HC-VX1? Can you give some detailed explanations and information? I'm so confused
You would have to research the HC-V785K zoom specifications and overall reviews on it as I am unfamiliar with that model. The zoom on the HC-VX1 is 24x Optical, 32x Intelligent Digital and beyond that is digital. I'm happy with what it produces, my last two videos taken at Sydney airport will give you an idea on how it performs. You could research the HC-V785K through Google or even via UA-cam, there maybe some dedicated videos there on it and then you could compare the two, hope this helps :)
