it's so awesome how he created so many physical elements, NOTHING inside the cockpit was CGI except for the screen displaying all the information. THAT'S EXACTLY WHY THE WHOLE MOVIE WAS SO INCREDIBLY REALISTIC AND BADASS!!!!

Del Torro comes across as a genius. What a guy and thanks for making the closest alternative to a live action gundam movie. Great story with great action; i really can't express how much i loved it
I wish they had said something about the music, because for me that was one of the best parts of the movie. The composer is the same that made music for Iron Man and Game of Thrones, right?
YES exactly the suit up scene in the beginning with that music was what made me love this movie without that music or that suit up scene I'm not sure if it would have been a movie I'd ever like to watch again. That music was literally a masterpiece.

While watching the movie I became thrilled that the robo suits were fighting monsters but towards the end I was more into the resolve that the characters had in the movie especially Marshall Pentacost which the 2nd movie clearly lacked. To me, alien or Godzilla, either way, they are just giant monsters and I just love how the humans tackle and survive through it all.
I just saw it now, I was like wow Gundam like robots in real life n doing really life actions! Although, sometimes I'm like damn that robot didnt break when flung damn. Then other scene with ship (Oh shit whomever made that brand of ship time to ride and invest stocks on those only lol)
watched this back in 2013 with parents when i was just a little kid who loved giant robots. Absolutely loved this masterpiece back then. I loved it so much to the point where my parents bought the dvd of the film for me and i rewatched the film at least 10 times. its been 10 years since then and i miss where movies were still this high quality. Its rare to even find a film of this calibre these days. Glad that this was part of my childhood!
It's even more special that he directed Pacific Rim because in an interview, he said that Pacific Rim was what sparked his love of moviemaking again after his hiatus.

I love this movie so much. I didn’t like the sequel and I pretend it doesn’t exist. A prequel would be cool that maybe focuses on a young stacker and it could end when he meets mako or even show them as a family.
It took me a long time to actually go see the movie because I always thought it’s the same old mindless robot fighting monster movie but boy was I wrong. Besides the amazing visual effects, the story and comedic moments are very on point
the reason why they got owned so fast because the kaijus that killed them were the ones meant to kill everyone, and aimed for the compods, the earlier kaiju were only scouts, but then more kaiju were coming taking out many of the jaegers, leaving only the four that were seen in the film, before Crimson Typhoon, and Cherno Alpha got dispatched, leaving Striker Eureka and Gipsy Danger left to be used to close the breach.
If you think they fell quickly, remember that this was the end of the kaiju war and 5 years previous, gipsy was the first jaeger to fall due to knifehead going for the cockpit and being the biggest cat 3 being even bigger than most cat 4's

Saw the late show of this movie... Got out at 11:30 was too pumped for bed till 4 in the morning... Bought it when the DVD came out and now I know the entire movie like the back of my hand =) absolutely adore it! Still get excited when I see it!
Guillermo is a flipping genius. this movie was an epic frolic of monsters and robots and the courage of humanity in the face of the end. I go back to it over and over again. what a gem of a movie.

It's really nice to see how much work was put into this movie. I have seen it twice and it shone through both times. Once you just switch of your brain and allow your self to just enjoy the eye candy, you can forgive the few gripes they don't take anything away from the great experience.

Let's keep our heads high for PR2. Based on the hints given by the director on the script, I've come to assume that we're gonna see Kaiju Jaeger hybrid which I think Kaiju controlled by a precursor or two inside(the Kaiju creators).

This movie was awesome! And its something that we have never seen before with this big of a budget. Characters are likeable, the Jeigers are all really inverntive and cool. The fights were really great. The only downside is that I wished for more character development of the russian and Chinese pilots...if a Pacific Rim 2 comes out. I hope they somehow bring in 2 new Russian and Chinese teams to develop and then kick ass.

This was one my absolute favorite movies from 2013, and has been ever since. Seeing this video, you can tell, this was a passion project made with love and care. Also, I just love seeing Rob, Max Martini and Charlie Day checking out the kaiju sculptures. Makes it all the more painful, that the sequel never lived up to the standards set by the first film...

I loved this movie so much. The fight scenes were amazing, the characters were engaging, and it was overall keeping me on the edge of my seat. But I agree with everyone, though I kinda say the Russian and Chinese pilots deaths coming.
For a light turn off your brain entertainment not many movie can beat this one. Even I who never watched a single transformers movie or avengers, marvel or any of these love this one. Something about it really shines. It knows what it wants and doesn't want to be anything else, and it really works. The director knew he's not gonna win an Oscar for it, but damn if it's entertaining.
Another cool detail about Kaijus in this movie: when each and every one of them appears on the screen - there's death, destruction or both. Doesn't matter how big or powerful kaiju is or how important the creature's appearance for the plot in any given moment, each of them are shown very capable of dealing real damage. There's simply no episodes where the jaeger engage kaiju and manages to easily kill it off without letting the beast deal any damage either to itself or surroundings.
9 years ago, I entered the cinema excited to see giant monsters fighting giant robots, just to be surprised with an incredible story about amazing people overcoming an apocalyptic force together. Now, Guillermo and co. have inspired me to, not only achieve my goals and projects but keep imagining stories.
after 7 years it is still one of the best action sci-fi movies ever made.

I loved this movie so much. The fight scenes were amazing, the characters were engaging, and it was overall keeping me on the edge of my seat. But I agree with everyone, though I kinda say the Russian and Chinese pilots deaths coming.
For a light turn off your brain entertainment not many movie can beat this one. Even I who never watched a single transformers movie or avengers, marvel or any of these love this one. Something about it really shines. It knows what it wants and doesn't want to be anything else, and it really works. The director knew he's not gonna win an Oscar for it, but damn if it's entertaining.

Another cool detail about Kaijus in this movie: when each and every one of them appears on the screen - there's death, destruction or both. Doesn't matter how big or powerful kaiju is or how important the creature's appearance for the plot in any given moment, each of them are shown very capable of dealing real damage. There's simply no episodes where the jaeger engage kaiju and manages to easily kill it off without letting the beast deal any damage either to itself or surroundings.

9 years ago, I entered the cinema excited to see giant monsters fighting giant robots, just to be surprised with an incredible story about amazing people overcoming an apocalyptic force together.
Now, Guillermo and co. have inspired me to, not only achieve my goals and projects but keep imagining stories.
The only movie in a few years to make me an insta-fan! Great movie.
