FLATTEN & ENHANCE ANY RECORD UP TO 1/2 INCH WARPs
The best performing Best Priced Outer Ring - the ONLY True outer record clamp that clamps the record only with NO platter contact with the easiest and most proven install tool, a 5 second job and a 25 % improvement from dynamics, soundstage, lower noise, hard pounding clean bass and airy clean and controlled high frequencies.
The ring will often make an old album much better to listen to and we encourage you to play those “tricky” records
I put a warped album between two pieces of glass. I put them in the sun on a summer day. A few minutes later, I moved the glass and record to the shade to cool. The record stayed flat. It sounded great.
that can work but it can get too hot and melt the record doing it like that too, best to heat the two piece of glass in an oven and let the record cool inside
@stenobro PVC melting point is 212°F at a minimum, so I’d say 180-200, since there are often physical transformations in the few degrees surrounding melting/freezing points and I’m accounting for preventing those.
@veritas ante omnia ⁸8
Great way to soften the record and fuse the dust in the grooves with the vinyl. Thanks!
Back in the 80's , I loned Black Sabbaths " We sold our souls for rock and roll"to a friend. When he returned it , it was on the parcel shelf of his car ( 69 Road Runner 440 4 speed) . Anyway, one of the discs was too badly warped to play. So I filled the kitchen sink with hot water and dunked it in. It came out like a wet noodle and I pressed it between 2 of my Mom's cookie sheets. Ya , you guessed it , it didn't work. But I still have the other disc and it plays OK. True story.
I helped Kenwood introduce the outer ring in the '70's and I know from many demos that the sonic advantage goes way past just flattening warped discs!
And you didn't played it so that we could hear the difference. Why?
Pink Floyd lawyers.
audio technica 120 usb c est mieux trop clincant
I have never seen one before, that is really nice.
There are videos on You Tube that show you how to flatten a record by putting it in the oven for a short while at low temperature, placing it between two sheets of glass, applying weight to it, and letting it set overnight.
It’s a bit risky and not as fast as this. That method also doesn’t guarantee that it won’t warp
Here's the thing. I have owned many of those "CBS/SONY" "HALF SPEED MASTER" LP's and I found that as my audio equipment got better, the sound of these LP's got crappier! I sold my copy of "PINK FLOYD-WISH YOU WERE HERE" "HALF SPEED MASTER LP for $120. a few years ago and just bought the new re-issue on 180grm Vinyl for a mere $25. and it out performs the sound of this "FLOYD" 'HALF SPEED MASTER" LP by many times over. If you can somehow find an original 1975 "COLUMBIA" LP pressing in NM-Pristine condition (good luck!) even that would be way better then this or just about ANY 'CBS/SONY" "HALF SPEED MASTER" LP. .......So, what I'm getting at is why don't you just go buy a 180grm or NM used copy of this album instead of paying a lot of hard earned cash on some expensive "WARP CLAMP" ?? Why would you have a record so warped in your arsenal of Vinyl in the first place with a turntable like that?? Think of all the great Vinyl albums you can buy with the $$ you threw down for such an accessory. Just saying.........................
You've gotta point, unless it is a very rare vinyl.
I'd say 180g isn't worth it - I honestly have never had a 140 and a 180g of the same pressing to compare (would such a thing exist?) but I hear/see no sonic benefits from 180g vinyl over 140g. Maybe it warps a bit less?
@@Ninja_Gaijin well, you have a point there. I have some very thin vinyl's that sound really, rely clear.
Yes 180g will be more sturdy but it also get more static... I would say that the mastering and pressing is more important than ten vinyl.
Like 180g but with bad mastering or pressing will sound worst than a thin vinyl record with great mastering.
Of course, ideally you should have both.
Keep in mind I am no expert, this is just what I have observed so far, with my small vinyl collection
I agree with some of the comments here- I have an SME turntable and I would never stress the bearing, suspension or motor with something that heavy...
Like I said.. It's just a lazy, potentially damaging way of not holding pressing plants to account
It won’t damage anything if its not crap and you’re careful
Cool Turntable
are any of these still available for purchase (for a Pro-Ject Carbon Debut)? thx!
Is it compatible with the Audio Technica AT-LP7 turntable? Where can it be purchased and what is its price?
Hi , What is the price and where to buy it Please ?
How does the motor cope with the (significant) added weight of both clamps?
It can as they are designed to handle it. They don’t make them to just about handle the platter weight
Come in here dear boy have a cigar you're gonna go far!
LOVE IT
Betamax Flippy Sweet !!
This would be extremely handy for transfers where the record is the only source material and is otherwise unplayable.
Wow that is incredibly cool!
I have heard that these clamps will sometimes hit the cart, thus not letting some of the first song play?
I was looking for a way to fix the warp in this exact album!!!!!
Do you think he deliberately warped that pink Floyd record?
Do you make this for the Pro-ject RPM 10 Carbon deck? If so what’s the price and how does one go about purchasing? Thanks
Fantastic
cool idea
Didn't play with the added weight, not proven. Draggy audio is no better then bad audio... Finish the comparison. raw, center weight and outer weight. No clear comparison. Just your word it worked...
I'm a machinist I'll make one light weight that will work
Have you? If so, message me.
How much would something like that cost?
Greetings from Germany. How can I purchase your turntables from here?
where to buy this record clamp?
Cool !
Ok, two sheets of glass slightly bigger than 12" * 12" a warm oven and some weight, even a brick, that'll sort the problem!
as long as it's cheaper that 1000.00, i'll do it.
Too bad, that TTW Audio shut down all audio activities.
Damn, that ring looks really nice
How does that extra weight not slow down the platter?
Because there's a quartz that regulates the speed. If you add weight, the turntable will use more electricity but it will definitely keep the RPM (within the weight limits, of course)
Cause the motor and that rest of that bad boy is crazy good
Unfortunately it is not applicable to any turntable… for example is not for Michell Orbe or Gyrodec… but there are many others turntables where it can’t be used. Regards
How to fix warped records and improve the sound of vinyl
Link takes you to a for sale domain.. wow at least remove the video or the link before you vanish..
Any good weight is much less than a pound, but that is not enough weight to affect a well oiled bearing. What if can affect is cheap motor that cannot handle the power required. However, most new designs are electronically controlled speed to avoid a slow down. I have both an acrylic platter and a 0.7 lb weight, and nothing is affected. Then again if you buy a cheap turntable, why would you use a weight?
Maybe they should have made it affordable.
it's insanely expensive to machine out a big ring like that
hi...there is 1 for 7"????...there is any solution for a 7" please help!!!!
They could have made an adapter to include 7 & 10" potentially but obviously they didn't think about that
Have a Cigar by Pink Floyd.
Nice!
The website is not working.
What's wrong with the website???
How much to buy?
would this unit fit my pro ject carbon debut turntable
I think this guy went out of business
Anyone owns a record player like that don't have records like that.
Check out the price.
Clearaudio has one, too. They named it the "Outer Limit" ring.
No measuring or adjustments. Place the record on the platter, and place the ring on the record.
Their ring works only with their turntables (I think).

Not for Me then, As I play mostly 45's.
Just buy a vinyl flat . Works really well .
COLEY FOLEY SAYS: PROBABLY COSTS AS MUCH AS A "TECHNICS 1200"... HAHAHA! (NICE PIECE OF EQUIPMENT THOUGH.)
could be 2-3x or more. I found an Indian company making a far simpler outer weight and they were charging something like $2000 USD
We have been producing a series of rings for 10 years - 5000 Sold to mid to high end world wide !!
www.ttweights.com go to our web site and see!!
you don't have anymore of these listed on your site
rip - I really would love an affordable outer weight some time
Fancy expensive equipment like that and he buys crap records. Go figure.
Yeah sure, see how long the motor will last🤣💩.
hey
Not all Audiophiles are smart...SL1600 is an entry level turntable at best .. well if that is what you consider high end we are all very happy indeed!
TTWeights
Check our web site: www.ttweights.com - we make record clamps for EVERY table for the last 10 years..cheers Larry
No, no, no... Send the record back and tell them the quality is SHIT.
OTHERWISE YOU ARE are complicit.
Yet another thing to buy when you should not need to
Cool lemme just get my $1000 just for the clamp. Not cointing the $5000 turntable.
This outer clamp is slightly wobbling from bad machining or careless use, sorry but a no go for me. A Turntable's platter and the whole drive assembly should be extreme precisely machined. Otherwise it adds extra wow and flutter and the speed stability will be worse.
I believe the 'wobble' could just be from the warp pushing the weight up and down a bit - he does say that it didn't entirely eliminate the warp. It's a pity he didn't also show it on a non-warped record so you can see it is flat - I'm pretty sure if you spent that much on this thing, it would come flat/level. Still these outer weights can do amazing things to severe warps as you can see in the video.
$700 + no thank you.
completely useless on technics
Purchase a new record. Problem solved!
