I really hope the RFU grow a pair and fire him when we come 4th (if we’re lucky) in this Six Nations.
Borthwick talks about our team like they're a non-league soccer club putting in a commendable performance in the FA cup against a top Premier League side. To answer the question he dodged; No, it's absolutely not acceptable for an England rugby team to have seven defeats in the last nine games with the only wins being against Japan. What do he and his coaching staff intend to do about it? Not alot apparently.
“An England team that’s been building over the last six months” - quote by Borthwick - that’s a factual inaccuracy or could be referred to as a lie. This time has been largely bedded in and consistent since the World Cup when a whole host of players retired. Have the courage to actually own the loss on the basis of your ongoing team selection. Stop deflecting.
Yes indeed, we will see next week "how they are building at home against France", that will be the tale in the telling ...(two soft tries at the end were Flattering for the English)..putting it milldly
Forward pass on the final Ireland try maybe? Otherwise, England made some real brain farts. Credit to Ireland for winning, they did look the better side in the second half.
Yes missed it. Didn’t even check. England need to make their physical advantage pay, scrum and maul they didn’t make use of it so didn’t deserve the win
I’m sick of Steve Borthwick talking about Englands lack of caps and about how much more the opposition have. He mentions it in virtually every press conference!
England put it up to Ireland, but they were up against a world class team, arguably they world number one team. Swing low, set your sights lower 😮 10/15 years you will be back
@ If you didn't know, England rugby is a business, big business, not old school jolly japes with oranges at half time🤣. A business does not generate by setting sights "low" and waiting 10/15 years.

I only wish I was a fraction of the athlete he is. I feel for him at this time. There are such very very fine margins between winning and losing.
A complete waste of time, keeping SB! How in gods name can Shaun edwards be the best defence coach around, for the last 15 years and not be involved with England!! Head of RFU are like our government, utterly useless with zero idea!
What is Borthwick talking about, half the team have been there for years, not 6 months. I saw nothing in attack besides Marcus Smith. Defence was slightly better than awful, discipline was poor, line outs were poor. Just deluded rubbish again form a management team floundering
Obviously, as an England fan, I'm sad to see us lose. But, I did see a much improved English defensive effort, an exciting attacking mind set and I do think we played well. Credit to Ireland who remain a real class act. But, I'm excited to see where England can get to (whereas there were times, last year, when I was quite worried)
2 wins in their last 9 games, another year goes by without a grand slam, 10 years since the last, the unacceptable mediocrity of the England team continues...
"Another year goes by without a grand slam"??? Delusional to believe you should be competing for grand slams, which are difficult to come by to begin with unless one team is proving utterly dominant, when in reality, you rarely beat Scotland nowadays to win a Calcutta Cup.
Irish fan. England played really well first half. If they can produce that for full 80 minutes, they'd be the best defence on the planet and hard to beat. Going forward in attack is definitely their weakness, they were very disjointed and lost their shape second half.
borthwick keeps saying eng have so much talent i just dont see it. we had no control at any stage. we kick it far to much. also itoje not a captain only cares about himself

The dynamic doesn’t work and it effecting his game. “In terms of how I found the captaincy, it was fine” - says it all really damn.

Let’s be honest the ref fucked us but overall we didn’t really play, a re-accruing problem, relying too much on defence and then being absolutely knackered in the last 20, Lawrence was brilliant, we need to get him the ball as much as possible not keep kicking it away, the last two tries made it seem better than it actually was, we need to move on from Borthwick, he’s taking us nowhere
