It's looking just like a "different looking" Flipper to me. Yet, I still adore the retro vibe that the Flipper gives off.
Also, when he's pressing the M1 to open the gate he is at the same time pressing the button on the gate opener. Hmmm.... Now that's not weird at all! My spidey-sence is tingling! 😅

I had a look at where they were already at and was super impressed, but then looked back at what the F0 team had done... 🤯 $4.8M 😳
It may have been because it was the first of its kind, but yeah...just not quite enough to fully sell me on the M1.

It really looks like ‘another flipper’.. the power of flipper is the community and all the custom stuff that is being made for it.
It really depends on how many people would switch from flipper to this to get the same level of tooling and ‘support’. But because it’s not adding much features compared to flipper (except the build in WiFi we didn’t see yet), I don’t expect a lot of people switching over.

People are mad claiming it's a F0 rip off. Bigger screen, better processor, onboard 2.4 ghz wifi, along with a free case, translucent shell for backers only, and a choice of colors all make it stand out from the F0.
In the end its the community that's going to be the deciding factor over which device wins or loses. If developers ignore the M1 then its dead in the water. They might prefer it over the F0 and the M1 could be the king. Again for $109. I'm in it to see what happens

Realistically, so far as I can tell, the *only* 2 advantages of this are WiFi built in and it's possibly going to be half the price compared to Flipper Zero (at time flipper was released) . Could/should still be a nice gadget for the collection

Likely the problem with integrated wifi is being able to sell it with it built in (fcc and other certification) as an option, it's easy to sell it, (especially as development, not 'for wifi') but built in changes things.

I was hyper suspicious of this from the moment it dropped. I ended up not going for it based on that but who knows, it might end up being good? Not holding my breath though.

I pledged F0, cyperpro and the M1. I love these toys. Not as cool as parrot OS on a bare metal Chromebook, but they are fun to play with and they are great educational tools.
The promo vids are likely fudged a bit. I'd pay attention to the details of the finished product vs specs. And rolling codes on many cars can be done easily with a few techniques on f0 or hrf that are common enough i'd expect you to know them. It's iffy but also what do you expect?

Update - they have said they are prototype testing right now. Taking them by their word it might not be too long to see one.

I prefer the angled IR blaster on the flipper for staying a bit less noticeable. Everybody knows that you’re controlling something when you’re pointing directly at it.

I backed this project, hope it all pans out.
I'm a backer.. we shall see what comes from this. It could do all the things they claim it can, but if the community doesn't adopt and develop apps then this will be a cold fish.... Fingers crossed
I'm in the mid 950's of backers. 1.3 million is good enough to bring it to market. If it's a rugpull there will be a very big lawsuit, and probably criminal charges. So I feel pretty good about it.

Them faking their prototype video with what it can do and faking the demonstration is an instant red flag. Wait for the community to get them before your purchase.
I'm excited to see more products like the flipper zero, competition gives us more options and forces companies to innovate. TBH though, the M1 looks like a nugget mp3 player 😂
I backed this project, will report back in July when they start shipping as to if it was legit
Flipper has a very BIG community these days with lots of software/firmware etc. If Flipper software is easy to convert to M1, then they will be successful.
I'm still waiting for the original Flipper One, same community and much better hardware.
On a scale of flipper zero to Cyperpro how we feeling about this?
I guess it is still too early to tell the final price, but It still looks like a flipper zero. I paid the extra money for the wifi GPIO card. So unless the price is less I do not see any major advantage. Thanks for the review.

I feel like this device is a knock off flipper and also, the project itself seems suspicious and the fact that they raised 1 million dollars and they can’t make well made prototype videos and introduction videos is crazy. the device looks cool but i’m unsure if it’ll be as well as the flipper only if it gets released. i really hope in the feature, they can have a better prototype video and also a mobile app for the device like the flipper. also, great video sasquatch!
flipper has first mover advantage with community support, which this does not have regardless of legitimacy.
a next model of the flipper was always in mind before the first one made it to market.
the best this device could probably achieve is an incremental upgrade of wifi built-in, without adding anything significant or distinctive in the process. there isn't a compelling differentiator to pick this over an already available flipper other than a new form factor.
the next thing probably to consider might be the next model of the flipper zero, if they can put together a compelling successor with the backing of the community.
so Flipper clone with bulky case ? we need more slim / small case.

I dig the specs on it but...will it have the support and community Flipper has already established? If it ends up being more than a one run/trick pony that may change.

WiFi is definitely a nice addition, but i agree, its pretty similar.

sorry but devices like flipper or M1 are not for WIFI i can use phone with nethunter and be more flexible. i see it like more for SubGhz, RFID, NFC or BT.

6:04 Okay so yeah, the specs say LCD. The screen is in the same state every point in de video though. I doubt they even have a working prototype. It's seems like a sheet of printed plastic with a light source behind it. This reeks like scammmm.
It's almost a direct rip of the Flipper. Why would I invest in something that does, I guess the same thing as the Flipper. I'll wait for Flipper 2.

I wouldn’t want Wi-Fi embedded in my Flipper, I think that runs into some privacy concerns, especially with what’s going on in Canada. I don’t need my Flipper to be another iPhone.

Just wondering....and sorry, I was commenting to quickly but I do agree, the gate should have opened. We already have the flipper, why with proven technology would you chance on something with misleading promo videos. We'll see how they do. I wish them the best of luck but keep it real.
why they would fake loading any payloads via usb as opposed to just running a simple ducky script that brings up cmd for the video is a little sus.

Not a big fan of the "line" going across the face of the M1. It makes it look like a seam in the plastic. Other than that, it looks cool.

SUS´n SCAM xD saved it on kickstarter, but when you take a closer look it is...yeah...a bit lets say "questionable"...maybe stay with the OG and MAYBE one day there will be an updated version (from ZERO to HERO) with WIFI and whatever fun stuff!

Yo, I know this sounds like a stretch but while you were giving some constructive criticism in regards to the video quality it made me think that you defiantly know the recipe to what would make a good product that highlights the things the flipper Zero and HackrfOne lack and it would be cool in the future if you teamed up with some peeps and made a product and ran a crowd funding campaign and such. If this is ever something you are thinking about doing, I work as a field technician in radio and have a few ideas for feature that would be awesome to see on the next generation of these devices

Yeah i love answering the question about the flipper and other devices capturing modern key fobs. The answer will be no for the foreseeable future. Modern key fobs have rolling code which i guarantee you the M1 and flipper cannot emulate. It just isnt possible thanks to modern automotive security systems. I have been a mechanic for 15 plus years and have dealt with this time and time again.

I almost backed this project. I was pondering until the last minute while doing some research, but none of the comments I read anywhere were positive. The videos are also pretty bad and goofy. In the end, aside from the built in wifi, this isn’t much different from the Flipper Zero and I’d be surprised if the M1 attracts the same level of community involvement. I wish them good luck and hope to be wrong. If it works out well for them, I’ll buy one retail.

I wish that they would show the internals of the prototype, it if they really wanna opensource it then i dont see why they would not also show more of their PCB work and and all the things inside it, other than that small crappy image at the bottom of their kickstarter page.
But it all just feels like the took a flipper zero and re-skinned it for their kickstarter to get something semi believable for all the suckers with money to burn.
My best guess is that its a SCAM!!!

It would be really hard to get a super broad utility patent, especially since they're adding functionality.
Patents are for corporations who can afford the lawyers.
You can clone diffrent burton on remote gate will not open. Than change button in flipper or m1 and this will work.
