@@Ol2Stroker I got a ziplock bag with a roll of gasket paper and some .17, .22, 270, 30 cal, 380 auto, 9 mm, 45. That’s usually pretty close to what a guy needs when you need a gasket on a Sunday and nothing is open! 🤣

I really like your editing on this vid, it's just how my brain works when working on something. Squirrel, squirrel, squirrel, squirrel! But i HATE when commercials do that many cuts, i refuse to watch commercials with that many cuts😠
What a beauty. Drove a 72 with a Cummapart in it. It was a nice truck for the times. They can have those COE, i would not want to drive another coast to coast or around the city. many years of changing my shorts on a dog house is enough. Another great video, can't go wrong with a Detroit. Just gets loud after 15 hour days running underneath you. It gets really hot in the summer.
Cool truck Wayne, can’t wait to see more of it. When those nuts were going too deep into your socket…hold a piece of paper towel over the socket and push the nut into it. The paper will hold the nut in, also works well with the socket upside down too when you’re trying to start a nut (I learned this from the interweb)
A UA-cam channel that I have been occasionaly watching is 8V92 Shenanigans;he drives & works a vintage 1975 Kenworth W900A with a 450hp 8V92TTA Silver Series two stroke Screamin' Detroit diesel engine, delivering reefer loads across the eastern seaboard.
I think Scott deserves to get there and drive it again.........after you fixed a few tweaks and got linkage tightened up . The shutdown lever was a combination of industrial application hardware usually used with a Delco 12 or 24 volt solenoid . Good thorough video.
Great video Wayne those 92 series valve covers look great as opposed to what was on it from the start. Looking forward to your next video on the rack debacle and governor. Thanks for sharing stay safe Wayne.
Hey Wayne! Got an idea good sir. How about a go pro mounted with a light under hood of the beautiful Pete you got in your intro. That 2 stroke sound and maybe a turbo coming alive as part of it along with the other stuff :)
@Ol2Stroker dude I was ready to throw a wrench just watching lol 😆 i like the little tool you made to get those nuts on and off the back side, good thinking....I like your videos, I've seen your trucks at a few events but I always seem to miss you somehow haha
why didn't you used closed Rivnuts on the Radiator or glue the bolts inside and put the nuts on the outside? and a wee tip, we used blue loctide on bolts for sealing the bolts and ATV'd the washers and topend of the bolt. Also didn't you said it was a factory V12 that was swapped to V8? what's the deal on that part? is that Engine off a Fire engine? or why does it have a Geared Alternator?
Not real sure on why it has a gear alternator or what the v8 came from. But once the 8v92s were out alot of v12s got swapped at overhaul. V8 was 4 less cylinders for same horsepower and cheaper all around.
My Uncle had a 79 KW and the pin that held the cab down broke and the cab came up at 55mph. That's the only thing that bothers me about running a Cabover
Flanged nuts, I've had good luck with those in tought spots like that. 93776A421 is McMaster-Carr for 1/4 - 20 SS, lots other sizes. Not sure if I've seen them at Tractor Supply. I kinda did something like you with the socket, the flange keeps it in socket, plus they grab and I don't need a wrench to hold the nut. Any tips and tricks for us guys who work outside lol.
Supercharger aint called a supercharger on detroit. They call it a blower because it doesn't make boost. Silver series is almost a completely different engine than a green 92. Maybe I'll do a video on all the changes but theres ALOT. The double o 92 was nothing more than paint and a warranty on a green 92. The silvers were the real deal
@Ol2Stroker Ah yes blower. Sure, some breakdown on types and what makes them different or distinct for us watchers. Learning a heap as it be anyways - good holidays sir.
@@Ol2Stroker saw that. I would just say that cutting in the middle of a sentence is a bit awkward. in videos I make, I always try to finish a thought. but then again, I just make mountainbike videos, so the 'thought' is just segment of trail. anyway, good stuff!
Spent brass shell casings work pretty well for punching holes in gasket paper. Put a wood block underneath it and give it one whack with a hammer 👍
Ooooo that's a great idea. Limited sizes though! Lol

I need a 1/2” hole. Is that a good excuse to buy some .50 BMG?

Just enough to be dangerous
Yes especially for a guy his age.
I absolutely lost it. "Or thats how you could fix it if it works"
40 years ago my dad had a 318 Detroit he would say as long as oil was leaking we were in good shape.
Thank God you know the engines , too many hands in the pot , just waiting for the master chef to straighten it all out ! 👍🏻👍🏻

Some serious engineering went into fabricating those intake tubes!
Great progress Wayne. Thanks for bringing us along for the struggle.
Beautiful Peterbilt. Gosh do I miss my 77. I only sold it because of my divorce. I was hurting for money and keeping the house was more important.
Terrible spot to be in I hope you get another one some day!

Hell yeah Wayne it's Mr. 671 thankyou for the shirt going to get a Hoodie next keep up the great work!!!!!!!!!
Appreciate the videos, Wayne. Looks like the old truck had some surprises for you. Looking forward to seeing what’s next.
Love your work and knowledge on the Detroit my favorite engine. Your amazing. When I buy my dream truck your my mechanic
Glad to see you back doing it brother keep up the good work and keep on trucking
Howdy 🤠 from the Northwoods of Minnesota.
Put a fuel valve on my 8-71T so it pops off right away. Also run my return up n over to hold fuel in head's

Where the heck can you find these V12's ? I love them old beasts.
great editing
Hi Wayne from Yorkshire England nice truck what happened to Bartha your v12 cabover
Far as I know, he still has her.
Still here tucked in the barn for winter. Ain't going nowhere
Witch is rarest your v12 or the v8 and for a name cherry
@bigpaulrc3531 this trucks pretty rare but imo #29 and Bertha are more rare.
Reminds me of your first videos of you crawling under the brockaway dump truck. Remove 1 part and you have to start over.. you should do a revisit ..

If you have to pull the cap back off make a rubber gasket for it.
Hey Wayne, nice truck ! Why was the V12 taken out and replaced with a 8V92 ?
I definitely like the green interior. 🍻
When did it lose the V12? Before you had it the first time?
The buzz'n dozen. That's what the logging truck haulers call the V12 in Canada.
Yea i would never remove a 12 it's against my religion. 😁
❤fucking love it uncle Wayne! Can I stop by and see it if I can find ya😂😂sweet video

Even with all the problems you encountered it still looked a lot easier than the GART truck.
Time for the stand alone coolant filter ,,, ! ,,, oh it has one .
