LAST EVER British Airways Boeing 747 Landing - Emotional Farewell to the BA 747 at St Athan

- British Airways today retired its final Boeing 747, following over five decades of Boeing 747 operations, after BOAC-liveried G-BYGC performed the 5-mile flight between Cardiff at St. Athan, in South Wales.
Today, the 11th December 2020, marked the final British Airways Boeing 747 flight, following the fleets grounding and removal from service in March 2020, following the fall in demand for global air travel. Following this arrival at the former MOD site, G-BYGC will be preserved by eCube Solutions in the Bro Tathan business park, located next to the airfield.
G-BYGC was delivered to BA in January 1999. During 2019, it was re-painted into the classic BOAC scheme for the airlines' centenary celebrations, alongside repaints of the Landor and Negus liveries on other 747's, and a BEA retro livery on an Airbus A319.
This video marks another sad casualty for the aviation industry in the current situation it finds itself within.
I hope you're all staying safe and enjoyed the video.

Awesome livery, will be missed from the skies!
Indeed it is!
It’s unbelievable to think that plane was still in its unique condition as it first took off. Beautiful sound from the engines🥰
The queen of the Skies. Still missed even today.
The water salute made me a tad emotional. Farewell 'Golf Charlie' the sky will be a lesser place without you.
I cried too! Such emotion. I was 10 when that plane took to the skies. Hard to explain.
I know there was a lot of sentiment around Landor but, for me, this is by far the best looking of the retros! So pleased I managed to fly on her!
Such a lovely sight..and in that BOAC livery dark blue , white and gold.. Such a delight to witness. . Long shall we remember this much loved lady of the skies. . Bon Voyage !
If only BA can still wait to see them of in style then fully display these beautiful pieces of aviation history
Amazing footage! A truly sad day indeed. Imagine how difficult it was for the Captain or F/O to land the plane! I, for one, would've been in tears!
Amazing capture ! Thank you for sharing with us !
Thanks for watching!

Wonderful capture of the last ever BA 747 landing. Fantastic vantage point. A massive 👍🏽 for the QOTS.
Thanks a lot mate!
What a beauty !!! They’ve got some awesome breaking power those RB211’s. Good to see the thrust reversers were behaving themselves and not locking out like they did on the #4 engine on IVW👍👍.
The GREATEST civilian aircraft EVER!!!!! The 747 will always be the KING!!!
That is a unique catch man! Lovely shots, thanks for sharing!!
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks!
Amazing video 👍👌 So sad to see the beautiful B747 go.
It really is! Thank you!
I reckon that soon (if it hasn’t already happened) the 747 will be cargo only. Technically the 777 is every bit as capable, but there’s an intangible quality to the “Queen of the Skies” that cannot be replicated. It’s touching that this plane was given a special farewell.
Woow very nice catch👏🏼😍👍🏼
Thank you! 😃
Such a sad moment, great video of it though mate!
Beautiful! 👍✈️🇬🇧
Brilliant video, even if under sad circumstances!
Thank you!
What a sad sight to see :( great video
Thanks mate, it sure is!
Farewell
An amazing aircraft.
Great footage, a sad day indeed.
It sure was, thanks!
Amazing capture! Where is the spotting location because it looks good?
Thank you! This was filmed airside so not accessible to the public sadly!
The Boeing B747 first flew in the BOAC livery in 1970, so it's only fitting that in 2020, she should retire in the same livery.

That bit after her main gear touches but her nose wheel stays aloft for some time, as if she was not wanting to come back down...

That sound thou!!!
What happens after this?
Are they going to destroy it?
Sad.
Is the boac livery getting scrapped?
No it’s being preserved at St Athens
@@Sloshgaming ok good, I thought it was getting scrapped because that’s where the other 744’s are there for.
