For as far back as I can remember, watching planes at airshows/fly pasts etc the BBMF has been a constant reminder of the sacrifices young men made during WW2. Without their sacrifices the world would probably have been a very different place. They paved the way and inspired so many young men and young women to now achieve their dreams of being pilots or one of the countless other careers in our amazing RAF. We owe them so much and we should never forget. Thank you Nikos for excellent coverage of the BBMF whenever you get the chance 🇬🇧👌🏻❤️
Richard thank you so much for this. Nikos will tell you that it is not easy to film these important aircraft. It is not because they are loud and pull 9G’s… it is nothing like that at all. The viewfinder on the camera begins to blur, the movement is harsh on the camera … this is because we are proud and understand what these aircraft mean. When you hear the numbers of the total loss, when you hear the average age of death of the crew, when you hear so many never returned… each purr of those engines is a constant reminder of this. But, let us end this on a proud high. The work involved to maintain these historic aircraft is phenomenal. The honour of a pilot to fly these is got to be out of this world. The runway that they depart from was from a runway that those that lost their lives … they can look down at us on the runway and say… they never forgot us …
Wonderful and so stirring. Remembering, in particular, Lancaster JB701, EA G for George, 49 Sqn, RAF Fiskerton. The crew were KIA on 29th July 1944. Per Ardua ad Astra. Thanks so much, Nikos and Ted.
Very nostalgic hearing the Merlin's purring, the hairs on your neck stand when you think of the sacrifices made by so many young men. Lest we forget. Never forget a spitfire buzzing between the trees adjacent to BBMF.
As an A Mech P in 1970 based at RAF Waddington I was 1 of a team in 5 Hangar who helped restore PA474 back to flying in 1973 I was chosen as the fly away mech and flew in the WOps seat. In May 73, I was posted to 4S of TT for my 'fitters course. When I returned in Nov 73 PA474 had moved to RAF Coltishall Norfolk. My last task was to go there with my Flt Sgt Eric Gledhill to deliver the last of the spare parts l spare parts left at Waddo! Great times with a super team of volunteers, seeing her still makes me emotional.
That is our country's history, valour and sacrifice encapsulated in 3 aircraft. May they fly for as long as possible to remind our future generations of the lessons of history
I had bbmf flying over my garden on Thursday and Friday it was beautiful to see them ❤ because they were flying in clacton airshow they were based at Southend airport ❤🎉
I remember as a young child about 4 or 5 years old my dad taking me outside our house to watch the Lancaster do a flypast at the Colchester Military Tattoo. He told me this is a very important aeroplane and I should learn about it one day. I really hope that today someone's father is telling their son the same thing
That is perfect. What an example and he is so right. We should never forget the importance of these aircraft. Legend Thanks for sharing this Jon LEST WE FORGET
Brings a tear to my eye every time I see/hear the Lancaster. And this year for personal reasons. Mum passed a few months ago, and I will always remember her telling me (as she lived through the war, not far from here), hearing the almighty drone as the Lancs left laden with bombs, and the different in engine noise as those (fortunate enough) returned home in the early hours of the morning. Lest We Forget. xx
Marvelous ❤❤ I remember 2014 when Vera was over here and there were 2 Lancs flying around us during practising, finger x Just Jane will eventually fly.
The Lancaster Creates An Unforgettable and Melodic Harmony When It Is Taking Off, Just Listening to those 4 merlins slowly glide past you creates a beautiful tune, a tune of Victory .
Just beautiful. Flying time machines, allowing us to remember and honor the service and sacrifice of their generation. Excellent footage! I love warbirds! 🫡
Thank you so much. It reminds us of why we are here … amazing and Nikos will tell you it is not easy filming these. For a man that is so enthusiastic, the emotion is just too powerful and his screen on his camera very very blurry 🤙🏼 Respect to every personnel who maintains our warbirds from around the world
I never tire of watching these beautiful old aircraft. It also acts as a reminder of what the young men who flew them went through and gave to keep their home and country free and safe. Also one of the reasons I do Poppy collecting every year. Stunning close up shots as they taxi'd past. Thanks Nikos and Ted.
Watching this video made the hairs on my arms stand up and gave me goosebumps. To see this magnificent aircraft is beyond words and the sound of the RR Merlin Engines is a sound of its own.
My husband and I had the pleasure of seeing the Lancaster fly for the first time earlier this summer, and remember feeling very emotional, thank you Nikos and Ted for what you do and bringing these special moments to those who can’t get to due to work 😁❤️
What a Blessing to be able to watch these Magnificent machines on a regular basis 3:47 I always like it when the Pilots take a second to Wave to those watching👋 4:55 is just a reminder to The TCS Community why it is better to have a Photographer behind the Lens instead of just some gob with an I-phone. Not a remarkable shot in and of itself, just a Plane waiting on the Taxiway. But, THE subject of the shot Centered in Frame. Thanks for sharing your Craft and Art with us Nikos

@TedConingsby 3 of the most important aircraft ever. Today's beasts of the sky are products, evolution from those early concepts. Agility abound. Gulp in my throat everytime I watch them, how weird?
Love the sound of her 4 Merlins!!! I believe she is having some work done at the end of the flying season. I also believe Spitfire AB910 is having a major service/maintenance done at the end of the season too
Evening Ted, Nikkos and Claire Bear...... Gorgeous footage as you do TCC..... See you folks at Bournemouth...... I shall be accompanied by "Dow.Esk. Miś" as as ever 👍😎👍.. Sees Yous soon....
These planes are just pure class we must make the most of them, I was lucky enough to see and go on Concorde and it's so disappointing that it's now only a story, give it a few years the same will be for these

The men that flew in these were some of the bravest of the war, basically a flying target for hours a day, thankfully thay are now rightly recognised. They helped win the war too!!
