It really is... now I'm crying again.
Their story sort of reminds me of loving someone through the trials of mental illness. You take one day at a time, you hope (when in remission) it doesn't come back, you know that one day it might and it's a dark cloud looming in the background. Mental illness can be gruesome, and ugly. Dani knows this, so when it comes back and she's scared for her partner, not wanting to hurt her or put her through the pain of losing Dani to the beast. She kills herself. Jamie saying "You, me, us." is her trying to go with her, her wanting to take on the pain just to be close to Dani. But Dani would never drag her wife down with her, which is why she did what she did. It's very sad, but that's how I interpret it.
Oh darling I couldn't agree more. Mental illness is such insidious thing that is hard to stop or deal with. You have to work hard every day. And it's so painful to see someone you love go through this. And you can only do so much by just staying by their side. And the worst is if they push you away and ignore you. 😣😔

@@lorainebejar2837 Definitely. As someone who's struggled with mental health my whole life, I really relate to characters like Dani, because sometimes it feels the exact same way. Like I'm just waiting for my own beast in the jungle. I really love stories like those though, because it goes to show that there are things in life that are worth living, and worth dealing with mental illness for.
@@Dawn452637 I am willing to give her company whilst waiting for her beast in the jungle but she pushed me away, she said she doesn't want to drag me to her darkness. I don't hate her or anything. I respect her decision. I pray she heals and if she really wants me, she knows where to find me. 🙂🙏💞
“If you love me, why’d you leave me” oh my heart aches
I read from articles that they had an emotional last scene that was deleted before Dani died. Jamie's actress apparently said that in that scene they shot Jamie was still able to stop Dani from going to the lake and they where crying while holding each other's hands 😭 I wish we could've seen that tho it would break our hearts more
I saw that aswell!!! Amelia (jamie) and victoria (Dani) sat even after they yelled cut, crying and holding each other.

It’s weird isn’t it, how we’re all in love with someone else’s Love? How we cry because they lost each other? Empathy is the human’s superpower... we feel it, because they feel it. That’s actually pretty cool.
we are all different from each other but at the same time we share the same essence.
I don't think I would have been as strong as Jamie, to be honest.
I think that, if I had known a love like what she had with Dani, and I lost that love, I wouldn't have been able to wake up in the morning or even let the door open, waiting for her to return.

to think that Jamie thought that Dani would forget her but then in the final scene it shows that she didn't in fact forget her after all these years is just 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
The moment that I realized that Jamie was the storyteller I cried even worse because I realized that she was still waiting for her to come home, come back to her, and then to see the door left open and Dani’s hand on her shoulder it broke me. 🥺

Full disclosure, I am not a fan of this song, which is a true testament to your editing skills because I watched all the way to the end, lol. This makes me ache. You really hit the mark with the proposal dialogue and all the intercut scenes of their happy life together. It was simple, moving, and just highlights for me that when you hit the right notes and master all the right emotions through editing you can make something that you've seen over and over and over again still feel like it's the first time you've watched it, and conjure up all the same feelings of joy, pain, longing, and bittersweetness. Thank you for making it and fuck you my day is ruined, lol. Great work!

My heart got broken again watching this. I never thought I could feel like this for a fictional couple, I have loved ships before but this is different. They are just so beautiful, just like this video. I wish, I really wish we could have so much more of them but I guess it is like what Jamie said: "It's where all its beauty lies, you know. In the mortality of the thing". The mortality of them and how all happened make us love them so much more.

I love thier story especially compared to Peter and Rebecca. Dani would never take down her partner just because she's lonely. Their story is tragic but also beautiful, being possessive of someone isn't love and sometimes the healthiest thing is to let go when the relationship. Not saying that Dani and Jamie's were but to compare it to Rebecca's and Peter's this was the best ending. Especially since the lady in the lake would have had Dani hurt Jamie.

At 0:33 you can see that Jamie has 2 different eye colours!! Or could it be the lighting? Very hard to tell. They look pretty different to me. What does that mean. This changes things.
EDIT: I looked on netflix and it looks more like the same eyes color for both eyes. Maybe it was just the colors in this video.
