HB has been really improving in leaps and bounds the last couple years when it comes to specs! I mean come on, rounded edge SS frets? Tesla pickups? Spokewheel truss rod adjustment? Bravo!
Not sure, I much prefer lighter smaller ones, but in stainless. It make a lighter guitare and wood is much more involved in resonances. It’s my opinion but I made my own testing through the years. In my experience, using more springs, but smaller blocks has been a huge win on my CS Strats
Seconded! It's making me want to mod my Sterling Ray35HH to be passive (or just change the preamp to one with active/passive + passive tone). Gorgeous looking basses though!
@@TheGuitarGeek i'd buy all 3 colours og the st182 - keep the green one stock and modify the other 2. That blue HSS strat looks cool too - will mod with the Ibanez AES40 style toggle switch electrics
damn, didn't think they will make the Modern Plus versions anytime soon and already have a ST25 being prepped for shipment... would love the flamey st with modern contoours in Lake Placid Blue...
I have the ST25th Firemist too. Wonderful guitar. But when I see here what’s coming next very soon… I think I can’t resist. Maybe let’s sell the 25th and buy one of these.
You’re not understanding what the Babicz Bridge is. It’s not about the block size it’s about the full contact at the bridge. This is a great bridge design and a huge upgrade for such a value priced guitar with all of the high quality features!
Babicz bridge may use a better system for the block? I wonder as they are i think pretty nice. Camt wait to try one. Awesome love that hss. Brilliant work HB!!!!
Where is this thing?? They said Q1 2024 and we're now in Q2. The TD Starcaster is out and the TD Strat hype is dying day after day... They need to hurry up.
kind of annoyed , I bought a HB-60 WB , it's great! really great. Kind of annoying for them to improve upon it so soon after though. That centre block was all that was missing! I suppose that means they're listening though.
Curiously I much prefer smaller trem blocks. Lighter and make the guitar more resonant, more lively. Have a lot of big stainless blocks to give away now😂
dam i just bought me a jets400 like 3 days ago cuz i wanted a strat to re learn and play some blink songs and then this comes out lol guess ima going to have to add another start to my collection damm lol
Are they Rosewood, laurel or Pau Ferro in the showdown? And do you know the production models fretboards? :P Btw I am enjoying the ST-62CC I ordered weeks ago :).
Yeah I'm gonna need that sparkly silver *coughcoughcough* in my hands as soon as possible Also do a hot pink body with everything else blacked out and I WILL buy two
1/3 the price of fenders and has locking tuners and that flamed neck is beautiful. $500 over $1500 and a better guitar it seems; not mad is no hard case at that price either
I have been saying for years if HB add another $20 or so to the price to ensure quality fretwork, that will instantly raise customer satisfaction and ultimately sales. So HB, please roll this out across all your higher quality models.
Okay, I've always been a proponent of "any idiot with a strat and an invader can make a Tom Delonge for a fraction of the price" (seriously, since when did we pay good money to have features taken away?). It's good to see someone actually capitalizing on that, especially since they seem to be doiing it right.
and im just going to call it those "tom" copies are going to go fast im already seeing a guitar max re run were his signiture sold out within the first two batches before it even hit the thoman website only way to get them was pre order i feel these 182 will be the same cuz lets be real they are better specked than the fenders XD just the fact that they have a flame neck and a babicz bridge alone already makes them 100X better
This is as funny as that "ST-style" guitar they put out a few years ago that was... inspired by a certain metal band that may or may not start with Slip.
I like the guitar (HB or Fender) in theory. Nothing against the style, good pickup, etc. But what Fender was charging???? It was insane and price gouging. In the end it is a very stripped back Fender Strat, and not even American made yet its going for a ridiculous amount. In other words, I'm all for supporting companies who offer a legitimate alternative to a greedy, money grabbing offer.
To be fair, the build quality can’t be any worse than the Fender models when they first shipped! £500 for a Harley Benton though… not sure I could do it.
Idk. The more I think about it, the more weird I feel about it. It’s not just fender though that they are copying, It’s Tom too. This guitar wouldn’t exist without him so could there be push back from his camp saying they can’t make those since Tom isn’t getting an artist fee. Idk. They make a Brian May guitar too so I guess I dont know what I’m saying. Just saying if that was my Sig guitar I’d be upset.
HB has been really improving in leaps and bounds the last couple years when it comes to specs! I mean come on, rounded edge SS frets? Tesla pickups? Spokewheel truss rod adjustment? Bravo!
Good pick Andy! A full trem block is so important! They aren´t expensive, make it happen Mr Benton!
You got that right!
Not sure, I much prefer lighter smaller ones, but in stainless.
It make a lighter guitare and wood is much more involved in resonances. It’s my opinion but I made my own testing through the years. In my experience, using more springs, but smaller blocks has been a huge win on my CS Strats
Dude, that flame necks are truly insane. I really love the HSS strat in blue or white. It reminds me to Mark Lettieri vibes
Damnit They did all the small things on that ST182+ Perfect for the rock show, really feeling this.
Okay, not gonna lie, totally digging the new basses.
Seconded! It's making me want to mod my Sterling Ray35HH to be passive (or just change the preamp to one with active/passive + passive tone). Gorgeous looking basses though!
these 2024 DeLonge guitars are a longe time coming! Any idea of release date yet?
Nice one! You are my favourite guitar channel!
Wow, thanks!
st 182 in red will be fantastic! thanks for the video.
Cool cool cool. I hope im allowed to work again in the next few months so i can get some of these.
Cheers from NZ 😎🎸🤘
Good luck! Not coming out until 2024 so you have time

I’ll be getting that lefty strat modern on release day for sure
I'm building a Jimmy Hendrix tribute stratocaster. Reverse headstock and body.

Nice guitar! I'd rather have the Harley Benton than the Fender. The specs are way better!
Thanks for the review, Guitar Geek!
And WAAAAYY less expensive.
Any mention of the ST182+ in lefty as well? Would fill a nice gap left by another manufacturer
no mention so far...
@@TheGuitarGeek boo! If you find out I'd be very interested in knowing :)

I wish they would prototype a Jaguar
That would be very cool.

If they do a Hoppus bass i'm there.
at this rate, that MUST be in the pipeline ;-)
I really hope they do
Fender does one, but Hoppus has his own site where he sells it
I want that bass! Either colour is fine. Billie Jo pops up when you were talking about the Tom Delonge Strat copy?
Hmm, I'm really eyeing an HSS at the moment, really sad it's still about half a year away for those guitars to drop, looks really nice!
Will there be lefty models of the Tom Delonge model?
They don't like you cause you're honest. Good work! We depend on the people that demo.
I like your "avoiding, while addressing, the elephant in the room" interview style.
Thanks 🙏
More HB prototypes please. I have sent several emails with desgin suggestions and I hope they have taken note of them.
Apparently a firebird and a flying V is coming.
PLEASEEEEE do a maple neck so I can recreate the Billie Joe blue 😂😂😂
I could cut the stress with a knife when you asked about the vibrato block size...
kind of annoyed , I bought a HB-60 WB , it's great! really great. Kind of annoying for them to improve upon it so soon after though. That centre block was all that was missing! I suppose that means they're listening though.
I need the ST 182+ so bad
i just watched some videos about fender's new tom delong and the quality assurance issues with it.... and then this came up. where can i pre-order?
Any plans for lefty versions of the 182+????
LOL the reference to Agufish's video!
I love it. The prices of the new Tom Delonge is ridiculous!
As in, yea or nay?
Ooooh, throwing shade at Fender on Agufish's account?? Niiiiiice!
That St-182 would look amazing in a rose red sparkle
Has there been a release date for these yet?
Curiously I much prefer smaller trem blocks. Lighter and make the guitar more resonant, more lively. Have a lot of big stainless blocks to give away now😂
Thanks for the tips! I need to test small vs big!
That's a VERY interesting response. I hope @AndyGuitarGeek follows up on this, as it's really refreshing to hear this idea.
Fine. Send the big blocks to me, please!
dam i just bought me a jets400 like 3 days ago cuz i wanted a strat to re learn and play some blink songs and then this comes out lol

When can we expect the new prototypes in Europe?

Das Orange von dem Bass ist der Hammer. Ich hoffe das die Farbe auch auf die Gitarren kommt 😂❤
I NEED THE DAPHNE BLUE
you and me both! (And the yellow)
When are they coming out Andy?
The first quarter of 2024
Still waiting for the HB Firebird guitar clone!
Sorry to disappoint, and I'm not a bass player, but that orange archtop HB-50 at sub 300 - hmmm
Ah man. Wish I had thought of this! ‘Bit punky’ 😂😂 Love it.
hello mate! I would love to see what you do with one of these.
I love how they were dodging around the names, whereas Agufish just came straight out and said it...
My way is more fun. I loved pushing Bene to see if he would say it 😂
Are they Rosewood, laurel or Pau Ferro in the showdown? And do you know the production models fretboards? :P Btw I am enjoying the ST-62CC I ordered weeks ago :).
They look like rosewood to me. Not even Harley Benton know what will be on the production models yet.... The ST62 CC is GREAT!
I need that guitar now
Me too
@@TheGuitarGeekthe 182, I didn't realise there were more in the video, yellow or seafoam green
"No... Orange" sounded like something out of Spinal Tap haha
I’ve never played an HB guitar before. I’m more of a fender guy, I play a tele, strat, and a Jazz bass and others
ST182+ left HAND!
I hope harley benton will do some evertune models one day.
DC special, one stacked P90 one regular, push pull pot, stainless steel frets
😂 love Andy's British humour
Hmmm, no normal hardtails... why Harley Benton? I want a ST-600HT RW Capri Orange in 2024. 😀
Sweet guitars.
Hope I can get it in lefty
What price they start at, USD ?
Patiently waiting for that silver sparkle ST182+... NEED not want. lol
If that hollowbody bass had been in black it would have made my little brmc-fanboy heart happy
I'm going to disappoint you Andy. That bass looks killer...
Hey Geek, can these HB’s really be that good?
They are, have four of them and planning to get more and more, love me some HB guitars, and they just get better and better
Yeah I'm gonna need that sparkly silver *coughcoughcough* in my hands as soon as possible
Also do a hot pink body with everything else blacked out and I WILL buy two
That red semi-hollow.....well...guess I'll soon have a new bass 😅
The headstock needs to be bigger 🔥🔥
That red bass wascool
Very!
If they offer that bass in left hand then I have a friend who will probably kill to get one.
With the HSS, locking tuners strats, I think they're trying to rival Jet guitars
1/3 the price of fenders and has locking tuners and that flamed neck is beautiful. $500 over $1500 and a better guitar it seems; not mad is no hard case at that price either
So. When are they ready for order? How many can I buy before my wife loses her mind??
That was billy popping up not tom delonge lol
Actually it was Derek for Sum41
500€ is too much. Yes I know Fender is selling them @ 1400€, but 500€ for HBs bersion is too much. 300€ max.
My original 2002 Graffiti Yellow Tom Delonge Strat was £499. Found it recently after selling it and the chap wanted close to £1500 for it…..😬
2024??? I thought they are available in weeks...😢

Not even just right, but better it seems. Locking tuners and flamed maple neck are not on the F..
Thomann is gone to sell thousands of the news models ! It seems the body of the S-Type is thinner than the big name ?
ST-182, german subtlety everybody! PS: Andy plays the bass like DJ Khaled does the guitar
and im just going to call it those "tom" copies are going to go fast im already seeing a guitar max re run were his signiture sold out within the first two batches before it even hit the thoman website
only way to get them was pre order
i feel these 182 will be the same cuz lets be real they are better specked than the fenders XD
just the fact that they have a flame neck and a babicz bridge alone already makes them 100X better
Finally Teslas. But if you want to compete in the HSS Sector, you need a AZES Switch Pattern.

£500 for a Harley Benton though… not sure I could do it.
IMO Fender should sell this guitar not much more expensive. 650 - 700 euro, something like that
Fender are you taking notes, 22 frets, twenty two?! Among the rest.
Why didn't you play Seinfeld on that bass, damn it
Rosewood or Indian Laurel or ...? and TUSQ or Bone Nut or Plastic?
In the end, they messed it up
Why did ya’ll pop Billie Joe from Green Day up in the corner? Lol
Benni has all the lowdown. But will he spill the beans or did he sign a NDA?
Silver sparkle FTW, especially if i can get it on the new 7 string bass… wait that hasn’t been released yet, maybe I should of signed a NDA???
I really didn't gel with the Silver Sparkle but this was Bene's favourite.

Strat style guitars do nothing for me. Sorry, Andy. But, that orange bass looks like something I need to own.

Did he really say 500 for that ?
Yea, it has to come in black, i do not dancy any of these colours at all.
Fender price gouging coming to an end???

Fender has stolen plenty of things from other companies, including their headstock….
It’s going to be around 500$!? Way too much for HB
