I would happily pay for a full album of Weird Al covering Weird Al.
A lot of people dismiss Al someone who "just does parodies." They don't realize that he is a legitimate musician and artist with some serious vocal chops.
Dont forget about his band.
I agree he sings really well and he does original music too. Weird al is one of my inspirations. I am currently doing original comedy music on my channel. please check me out and tell me what you think. your feedback is appreciated
I was going to like this but it has 27 likes.
Weird Al has more in common with Frank Zappa than most other artists I've known attempting that style. Felt vindicated to find out that Al's bassist moved to LA to audition for Zappa and stuck around for Al after Frank decided that having a band wasn't worth it.
@@RantJamz Your doing "RantJamz's Rather Ordinary Polka Melody"?
That guy is hands down one of the greatest talents ever, and he has a band that isn't a bunch of hacks...My 92 year old Pro jazz Musician Father likes AL.
Now I want an acoustic album from Weird Al.
Disturbed Shifty no more albums
@@dillonohlemiller9027 not necessarily, he might still compile some new songs in an album, but his focus is on singles, I believe.
Is acoustic guitar Intro paid homage to Eric clapton’s Layla,1992 Unplugged version?
Yes. And it's a parody of how some artists totally rework their songs in acoustic arrangements.
defender ... I also noticed it. A confirmation that the arrangements for a song are fundamental. Just think of Van Hallen's Jump songs sung in swing version by Paul Anka. It sounds like another song, but it's the same song. The arrangements are the dress of a song.
We need an all acoustic album! This is just amazing!
DoctorKosher1978 he’s not making any more albums
I can go on, and have gone on, about the musical genius that is weird all and everyone that works with him to create, not only the parodies, but his original songs AND the countless videos he's recreated, shot for shot, PERFECTLY. unbelievable. the meta-upon-meta career of this man is so underappreciated because he's labeled as nothing more than a comedy act. he is the mirror that the music industry needs to keep itself in check. there isn't ANYBODY who could take his place and come at it with the love and dedication that al has for his work.
He can sing, too. Really shows in this clip.
If Weird Al did not exist, it would be necessary to invent him.
The intro from Clapton's Layla in Eat it shows the genious that is Weird Al
Give props to his band. Those three main guys have been with him from the very start.
jtheyellow don't forget the fourth guy. Yes, he came about later (early '90s), but he's as of the band as the others are.
Im going to see him on Feb 7...big fan for over 40yrs...
So I see that in almost 4 years, there have been only 2 people who are tired of life. Go, Al!
The dude is way overdue for being in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
He did/is doing this during the vanity tour near the end, with a few added songs, and it was amazing.
Schwartz is unbelievable. Just think almost 40 years ago he ran into some weirdo with an accordion that asked him if he wouldn’t mind banging on his accordion case. Not only did he say yes but never in his wildest dreams did he think he would still be making a living with that guy.
I heard "Layla" immediately and knew this was gonna be good
Always a pleasure watching such talented and experienced musicians perform. Just wow!
Awesome would be an understatement.
"No no.. its going to over Layla now."
"Why..?"
"Reasons..."
I wonder who were the 2 people who disliked this. That was some amazing music.
Al did this medley at his concert too, it was really great! (I've made a few videos - front row! You'll love it)
No, Mr. Yankovic, 'tis WE who have YOUR kidneys on our minds after that rapturous performance.
They were great in concert love him!
What the actual. How can it be that Al being Al gets better?
funny! I never knew all the lyrics to eat it. funny? his performance. funny. thank u for making me laugh today
Amazing
He looks so serious 😏🤔😎
why didn't they include I lost on Jeopardy he did that one in his live shows
This is old news. Weird Al did this at every show last year on tour plus why wasnt I invited to this town hall? LOL
He took the words that he used to parody Michael Jackson’s Beat It and put them to Eric Clayton’s Unplugged version of Laya. My mind is blown.
My hero...
This is on the frontier in earworm eradication, and my bluetooth 5 surround 7.3 hat is off to you all.
Weird Al doing a mashup. Love it:)
I really hope they do this on the Vanity Tour!
William Hansard they are! And the medleys even longer than it was during the mandatory tour! Extra songs include: Smells Like Nirvana, White and Nerdy, and Amish Paradise. I lost on jeopardy is also in the medley, which is missin from this video, but was in the mandatory tour.
"Weird" Al for President...!
the first acoustic riff is literally just Layla
weird al still doing music xD
Why is the drummer behind plexiglass? Is it soundproofing?
dementedfurbie Drums are often not mic'd for live shows because they're so loud. You put them behind something like that so the other musicians aren't drowned out. Need to be able to hear yourself after all.
You're eat it here sounds like Richard Cheeses version of Beat It
As Homer says he who is tired of Weird Al is tired of life.
As someone reminds us under *every* Weird Al video.
3:30 to 3:36 must have been him hurting his throat. Because it didn't last that long.
Holyshit its layla...what!?
You mean he can play something other than an accordion? Wow.
Ok...he is not plucking guitar strings. So I guess he not actually playing anything but his voice.
I still want "AlAl's Rather Ordinary Polka Melody".
Looked tortured during the first verse of _Eat It._
First to comment, fourth to like.
Al needs to do an acoustic album
