@@frumitup I saw in one of your other videos a prayer book that was written in both English and Hebrew. I am very very curious to learn. Where would you recommend finding one in English and Hebrew? (If you're curious about me, I am Episcopalian, but have attended services at just about every Christian Denomination there is through my time as a missionary, and I love learning about other non-Christian religions as well, especially as we share many of the same scriptures)

Hi Sara! Today at mass our priest told about his recent trip to the Holy land and his experience riding in a Shabbat elevator on Shabbat in his hotel. He told of how wonderful it was to be surrounded by such pious Orthodox Jews and how by your example, your lifestyle and habits help even Christians to be holy. We love the same God. ❤️. By the way - gas in Western Pennsylvania here in the US is cheaper. I paid $3.85 a gallon two days ago.

As of this week, 1 September 2023, gas was $5.36 a gallon. In many European countries, gas is closer to $9 a gallon.

A week ago and for several weeks the petrol orice remained at 209 from 177/litre. We got home from school holidays and find on Friday morning it was 199. We feel so blessed. Shabbat shalom for this evening
Gas: $4.95 a gallon in Vacaville, California at Sam’s Club; over $5.00 and independent stations. Sharing the beautiful traditions of Judaism with you definitely brings me closer to God. Yes, please show us how you organize and study the Torah! And what a beautiful place to relax and refresh. I love feeling at peace.

I'm not jewish but I find your videos very interesting, I love knowing about other religions and cultures. The gas is so so expensive here in Spain too. Mallorca particullary. 1,80 euros per litre.
wooow that is CRAZY 1,80 euros per liter ! it is like 3$ canadian! is it a deterrent for you and you use other forms of transportations?
@@frumitupI can't speak for Mary but in Germany the prices are similar to Spain and for me it's definitely a reason to go by train If possible.
@@frumitup It's more expensive than in Spain mainland because we are in an island, but we have trains and buses and this year the government made it for free if you have the transport card. But still a lot of people use cars beacuse it's more fast.

Thank you for this video. I realised to want one of your modest swimsuits! Not only it is modest, it helps to protect the body from the sun, and the environment from the excessive use of sunscreens. Also, the idea to switch off all the electronic devices is wonderful. But most of all I liked the sense of community you' all share.

Thank you so much for sharing this. I don’t know why this was so triggering for me. I had a lot of negative memories of my childhood surface regarding religion, strictness, and modesty. I could never go back to that lifestyle… I felt that I wasn’t myself as a person but I have so much respect for ppl who continue with these traditions. I wish my mother was as sweet as you Sara… again, thank you so much for showing the other side, that some ppl are happy with these traditions. God bless you and your family ❤️.

I like the first version of the prayer since it sounds like music! I also like the individual flossers more since I feel like you're getting more floss being that you're not using a big piece to wrap around your fingers or tie it
Hello Sara! It's good see your videos again, have missed them. Loved this video, and how your family celebrates shabbat away from home. The different readings of the Torah was excellent! Ashkenazi sounds like it's being sung compared to the Sephardic is spoken. I like both versions! Your husband and son done a great job! BTW Your shabbat outfit was beautiful! It is hard to get away when your in healthcare. My husband is a dialysis nurse, and works at least 12 hours a day, some days he goes in at 4a, and lucky if he gets off at 6 or 7. 5 days a week sometimes if he is lucky he gets off on schedule! 😉 Stay Blessed Sara! 😊

I'm not religious myself, but I can definitely appreciate the beauty and serenity of honouring one's God and faith. Today is my first day of nursing school, and the positivity and sense of peace this brought me while watching is helping to calm my nerves 💙
Right now gas is $3.59-$3.89/gal for regular gas. This is a cash price. The credit price is higher. It was up to $4.29/gal. the past winter. I have spoken with you before and told you that I'm not Jewish. When I watch and learn from sites like yours one thing always strikes me and leaves me with a physical feeling of peace and love. This is the thought that all the world Jewish women are lighting their candles, at the same moment. To me, it's stunningly beautiful that at this time these women are shutting out the world and turning inward to their homes giving thanks for their loved ones. If there was a way to take a part of Jewish tradition and make it part of my own I would want to join these women. These moments are times that glue and bind ethical, moral societies together. It all starts in the home. Not understanding, just listening to the sounds I prefer the pitch and tone of the Sephardic readings. I found it more soothing to the ear. I may not be wording this correctly but the Sephardic reading brings a more peaceful feeling with it. To my ear there is more of an aggressive intensity to the Ashkenazi reading which would make it harder for me to cast aside all my worldly thoughts.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts about lighting Shabbat candles! I see it quite the same way, but because of the time zones I see the Earth get lit hour by hour as I light my candles. 🙂 Miriam
I love feeling at peace. Yes, do a video on the organization of your Tanach reading, b'vakasha. Unfortunately, we live literally b'midbar (Southern AZ) and have no kosher butcher (we used to), no kosher restaurants, and no kosher hotels. Kosher food here is much more expensive than in your video on kosher grocery shopping, as you have several places from which to choose. I do enjoy your videos though, as an Ashkenazi Orthodox Jewish woman.
