I almost, didn’t watch this movie, it started out slow. Like a good book, everything, is important to notice. I’m glad, I watched the full movie. I saved it, to watch again. Charleston Heston, made, it great. Jerry from Anaheim, California USA.❤
Charlton Heston is one of the greatest stars in cinema history. And he was in three movies that sooner or later people will watch, The Ten Commandments in 1956, Ben Hur in 1959, The Planet of the Apes in 1966. God bless him.
Niente di più consolante nella mia solitudine che guardare questi vecchi film nelle notti in cui non riesco a dormire.Grazie a chi lo rende possibile ❤❤❤
Not much of a Lizabeth Scott fan but Heston brought me here...hope its worth it. Was on a Heston kick recently and revisited POA, Soylent Green, & Omega Man. Need to find Will Penny next.
Plot- Dr. Tom Owen (Charlton Heston) is an Army doctor on leave to visit his mother, who still lives in the poor Pennsylvania mining town where he grew up. After falling in love with wealthy socialite Helen Curtis (Lizabeth Scott), Tom turns down a position as the local doctor and takes a lucrative job at an elite Pittsburgh clinic. Though he's happy with his newfound success and his recent engagement to Helen, a cave-in at the town mine forces Tom to decide where his heart really lies.

I can't get those distinctly sharp features out of my mind. Lizabeth Scott played bad so good against Dan Duryea that she had his head spinning in Too Late for Tears. In this movie she's the spoiled socialite whose very touch of money promised doom to a young nieve doctor (Charton Heston) returning from the Korean Conflict. (Note: America didn't involve itself in wars after WWII; just so-called "police actions". Words have meaning and power😮).
gotta love these types of movies when doctors smoke as when "the surgeon general recommends Camel for a smooth lung infecting cigarette"! If you're a Heston fan. It's worth a watch
It's so funny that in America we all want to be rich, that exclusive 1%, that top of the heap. But as evidenced even in this vintage scenario presented, we spend so much time HATING the people who are rich. Describing them as vapid hypochondriacs, shallow, useless, and vain, careless to the plight of the less moneyed and comfortable. And the irony is that the less wealthy still clamber after being rich. HAHAHAHA!! If we could just be happy with enough, we could do better. Of course enough varies with individuals, but no one needs more money than they could spend in 20 lifetimes.
Madison Avenue and Hollyweird have played a big part in the degenerate portion of American and unfortunately much off the world's culture 🤑💰💰🤪📥💵💵💵🤥🦈🦂🤡😈☠💀💩🙈🙉🙊
Well done movie. Not to be too too cynical but with the state of American medicine today (I am Canadian) and the virtual collapse of the coal industry the movie seems rather dated today.
I'm not at the end, but if daddy is giving this warning you better listen. She seems to be manipulating and spoiled. There's a great difference in the two offices. Not just the financial but the concern of the patients.
surgical sludge and the former sergeant had to die so that his former colonel could have a Damascene moment! beautiful gowns though by Jean Louis - nothing else to commend it
Don't like the atmosphere in this..these actresses are overbearing..i enjoy C H Films, but he seems angry all the way through..doesn't suit him..just my opinion...
Love these old movies, and especially Lizabeth Scott who’s great here, plus there are lots of good supporting actors. The new doctor acted much better than Heston and made his character believable. Heston chews away on the scenery, per usual, which he gets away with when the writing is good, but this one isn’t well written. So many inconsistencies that break the suspension of disbelief. The characters are cookie cutter with overacting having to replace any depth or nuance.. The direction seems lacking and the set design is blah, but Jean Louis’s gowns are gorgeous. These actors made many other much, much better movies.
What politicising venu, if ur LOP raul vinci is involved in a gotala and now people have died because of lop spending his time with soros and sam uncle rohingyas and other encroachers in waynad will suffer.
One of Heston's films I hadn't seen before. Always a great actor! Thanks!

The morality of this movie needs to be shown over and over again...
Charltan Heston my favourite, loved him in The Greatest Show on Earth he made some wonderful movie,
The Ten Commandments, was his best film, and best motion picture ever made. 🙏❤️
What a treat. Thanks!
😮just because Charlton Heston plays the lead role . . . and i never saw this one before . . . I'm here
Same here! 😊
Charleston Heston was a great actor. He played Moses in the Ten Commandments
no foolin'?
New subscriber, thank you for this upload. Cheers from Australia
Wow, 8th army patch on left shoulder. That was in South Korea, where i was stationed for c. a yr.
So many used him for his God-given talents and Heston said it best at 1:20:44 in how he chooses to use it. Good on him!
Never seen before great movie thanks
Good looking guy & great actor.
I enjoyed this movie well acted, can't beat good old chuck.

That was a great movie,
Good show
Heston was incredible in the 1950' s Bible films

When doctors were doctors.........................
That was some kiss, Heston gave Scott, Wow

Predictable movie, but well worth watching.
This reminds me of an AJ Cronin novel
I think Chuck's best film was Ben Hur.

Who did he marry in the movie?
His nurse.
Is that the actor from the old superman series?
Not Christopher Reed....Heston was in Soylent Green and Planet of the Apes. A great actor. RIP🙏
That's Moses from the 10 Commandments.
What kind of medical technique is that at 1:18:50 ?
😂 that was an actors special !!!
Successful CPR started about 1900
But nobody has told the actors 🙃
A.J. Cronin did a better job with The Citadel.

I didn't much care for this movie. I am surprised that Heston accepted this role. Elizabeth Scott helped save this movie from dumpster status.
Pretty revolting...
