If his character Dr. Thomas Owen graduated from U of Pennsylvania in 1938 he would be in his late 30s. Heston was born in 1924 so he's too young for this role. But like Gregory Peck he's tall and has a deep voice so he can play roles that call for older men.

Great film. And no wonder my mother used to giggle when she saw Charlton Heston.

Michaels is one best and most underrated Femme Fatales of Film Noir. Though her films were low budget affairs---the stories hackneyed riff-offs of Scarlet Street (45) and The Postman Always Rings Twice(46), yet she gave everything to her roles in other films like Wicked Woman (53) and Betrayed Woman (54). She deserves to be better-remembered.
