- A peaceful tour around Mountain Lake Lodge in Pembroke, VA where they filmed a lot of the scenes from Dirty Dancing. This is a POV video with no commentary, just natural sounds and in real time. We went here and stayed overnight. It's a beautiful place and if you are a Dirty Dancing fan you will love it

The white gazebo was the boat dock. To the right of that dirt patch in the distance is where my ex-wife almost drowned us by capsizing our canoe.

Unfortunately it is the natural cycle of the lake. It will come back one day but its going to be a while.

Well what is super cool is that we all know there was a lake there. How special is that?
No sound from anyone
So I take it the water has never returned. That is kind of sad. My Ex and I had our honeymoon here. We visited several times. I played a game of lawn chess here with my now deceased father. My Ex and I capsized our canoe in this lake. Never canoe with a partner who has no idea how to handle a canoe.
Oh my! That certainly sounds like a truly unforgettable visit. The water "kind of" returns every now and then, maybe 20%. Hopefully it will return fully someday.
