I was really surprised when he said Erie PA, I stay there for a few days every summer because it’s close to Conneaut OH. His description of the roads felt uncomfortably familiar and reminded me of the time my father and I almost went off a bridge in rural Ephrata. The bridge had either collapsed or was under heavy construction but there were no warning signs, just the end of a concrete slab that showed up in our lights. Pennsylvania road work man. That said I like to listen to these while I drive to my parent’s house on the weekends, specifically one dark section of road that it would be all too easy to fall asleep on. This one kept me wide awake

You do a pretty damn solid American accent - from different regions, too, IIRC - so it's always fun to hear it. Occasionally you slip, like when you said "been" like "bean" and not "bin" like we yankee folk do. Not a dis at all, it's just interesting and fun to pick out little things like that!
I'm happy to be able to be of assistance to you, fictional narrator: If you hadn't left for your parents's house late; and if you hadn't been so impatient to MOVE that one mile per hour seemed slow; and if you hadn't been too much of a cheapskate to rent a room, thus allowing you to begin again the following morning rested and refreshed; and if you hadn't continued to drive along your alternate route, rather than turning around once it began to narrow, or at the very least reversed all the way back to the highway once you encountered that car which was so strangely stopped in the middle of the road; and (shame on you!) if you hadn't fancied yourself a manlier version of Sherlock Holmes and spent that time investigating car, roadside and stuffed rabbit; AND if you hadn't decided to fetch your flashlight and begin to move toward the creepy Pennsylvania forest; and, then, if you hadn't been afraid of a moving band of pallid naked people coming toward you from the depths of the aforementioned creepy forest; and if you hadn't then turned and sped away, deciding against serious attempts to reach the Pennsylvania highway patrol and report the incident, instead choosing to reconnect with the highway and remain upon it until you reached your folks's place...well, then, my friend, you wouldn't have had such a creepy and disturbing account to share with all of us. (duh!) kris k. p.s.: i think i'm pleased that you made so many DUMB decisions. (ha, ha...thank you, REALLY!)

I expected this to turn into a carjacking story tbh. I know that's a tactic: create a distraction, driver gets out of their car, then someone either gets in the car or flat out steals it. I think the realness of that would have scared me more than this.
I like the new American accent. It's not perfect, but it's not bad either, and it's much more of a "typical" sounding accent than that exaggerated southern drawl or the stereotypical New Yorker that you've used a lot in the past. Nice work!
