Going back to look at these older ones it’s incredible to see how much you’ve grown as a physician. The competence you exude in your newer videos is really inspiring especially seeing how it developed from this enthusiastic newbie getting her first lines
i can't get over how informative these videos are every time! also, the humbleness: even when someone gives you a compliment, the first thing you do is acknowledge your team :)
YES!! More videos like this!!😀 I get so disapointed when youre videos are over.😟 I wish they were longer😃 They are so interesting, informative, and entertaining!!😁
Every time you post a video I look up whatever major thing you talk about and read all about it. It’s so nice for MCAT studying because it feels like a break even if I’m still learning!
Siobhan congratulations on doing so well on your central lines! I love being to follow your progress, it truly motivates me to keep studying and to work hard so I get to achive great things myself! Keep being awesome!
I’m currently becoming a primary teacher but I find your videos so insightful. And your personality is infectious. Keep up the good work. The world needs more Drs like you!
I love how you and Carol look after your patients and tell us that the patient doesn’t have PE. Carol is very informative talking about how a patient is very sick. I wish you could be my medical residents but sadly I live in Australia. I’m travelling to Canada at some point in my life and if I get sick and go to the ED/ER I’ll request to have you. You wouldn’t get any wake ups from me unless they were very important. I’d be sound asleep in the hospital bed with my security item. I’m a very insecure person and your videos are making me less insecure. Much love from Australia
Gosh I love watching your videos! So so so intriguing seeing what doctors go thru. I LOVE the girl power going on. I want to be self absorbed and tell you make more videos a week but Jesus slapped me back into realizing who you are and what you do. I am very grateful you're able to release a video as often as you do now! Save those lives!! I watch for the notifications lol. Enjoy Post Call!!
hahah love this post- thank you AyeJae!! I also wish i could make more than one a week, but this is all i can manage right now... and sometimes it feels really tough!! Posts call was bliss - thanks :)
I loved this two-blog series on your 24-hour call in the ICU! I am applying to medical school this summer and I think you do a wonderful job explaining different aspects of your day-to-day experiences as a resident. Thank you!!
These videos are so helpful! It shows us a little more of how a hospital really works. It'll now give me some more compassion towards the doctors and nurses in the ER because now I really know what's going on behind the scenes!
Hi Siobhan! I'm a Respiratory Therapy student who just discovered your channel (hence why I'm binging all of your videos)... I love how you always give a shout out to the RTs (and other allied health professionals) you work with! Looking forward to following the rest of your journey! :)
I have been loving these videos! They have really been sparking my interest in the intensive care field! After watching this one I started to look up different residencies at some of the Canadian schools. I love your videos because they are showing me different sides of the medical field before I get to see them! Thanks!
I have Crohns and a lot of other little things added up to having a lovely autoimmune disease. Your videos came across my 'recommended' and I really love them. I really love the excitement you have in your work and helping people. I see LOTS of doctors and it really helps me knowing that the doctor/ nurse really loves what they do and has a passion for it. To be really honest it makes me feel safer and cared for. I've had doctors in the past that just push you off, thankfully I don't have any of those doctors now. I totally subscribed watched like 3 videos now!!!
HI Jeallen - thank you so much for sharing about your story. I really appreciate your feedback and i'm happy to hear you have a good relationship with your current doctors!
I had the flu not too long ago and had to be admitted because my different health conditions... my private doctor was on the phone with the hospital... and me the whole time... he's like call me when you know something... it was amazing.. they worked so well together. I just never had that before because of a chronic illness patient I have around 5 or 6 different doctors for different things and it's amazing when they all can work together!!! I was so happy I cried. lol. I can also tell they just love their jobs and that is what is so amazing about it. I can tell that with you and in your vlogs... (been watching more) and I love it, you are one of the amazing doctors!
I love these videos! I worked in a hospital in labor and delivery. I was the clerk entering orders and in another video you talked about and writing and it can be a challenge. We had a dr that her hand writing was like calligraphy. I decided to go back to school and I now work for a college as an IT tech. Your personal is infectious. The people you work with are like a second family and you would be fabulous to work with.
Your videos are my favourite to watch at the moment. They are so different from what I would normally watch, but I find them very interesting and informative. Very cool, thank you for sharing it all with us!
I love how you guys still look so calm (and if I may add, fresh looking) amidst all the things that you're doing while on duty.😊 Salute to all the doctors in the world! And you're such an inspiration Siobhan! Your channel is a reminder for me of my first dream. Sending some love from Germany.
Wow you’re such an amazing human! You’re so humble, nice, funny but a the same time serious as it should be when talking about serious cases, Love you and this amazing informative videos!!!
I love your videos. I’m not a medical student, in fact I’m studying to become a teacher here in Australia, but my mum was very sick a few years ago (and still is) but I find the medical field so amazing! My mum has MS and pulmonary arterial hypertension. I remember her having her blood gasses tested and the pain the first dr put her in. She was and still is terrified of having them done again but the second dr did amazing. My mum needed to have a special surgery done in 2014 where they opened her chest cavity and extracted clots from her lungs and drilled through the pulmonary artery. She was in icu for about a week. It is amazing that she is still alive. She just turned 50. The medical field is so fascinating. Good luck with everything!
Hey! did you do rotations yet? Because I'm so scared for rotations (that I will mess up and scar a patient or that I won't handle the pressure) and it would be really nice to hear some of your experiences!
Alleysthoughts hey sorry, no I'm still pre-med (undergrad), but believe in yourself! You are smart, beautiful, and such a great person to want to dedicate your time and life to such a giving profession. Don't worry! No one is perfect, and doctors make mistakes everyday. You will be phenomenal! 💜💜💜💜
I love your videos! I’m currently a nursing student in Quebec getting my DEC, & then I plan on getting my bachelors degree as well. My mom wants me to go to medical school afterwards and I’m seriously considering it. You’re so smart & your videos help me see the opportunities I could have in the medical field. Thank you!!:)
I LOVE your vlogs! I’ve wanted to be a doctor since I was a kid, so watching your vids lets me live my dream through you in a way lol. You’re so blessed to do what you do!
Real talk. There should be at least one 24 hour option for food in all hospitals! I work in a hospital lab and it's such a bummer trekking over to the main hospital starving and finding nothing to eat hahaha. I'm loving this series! It's so interesting because I communicate with doctors and other hospital staff all day but I truly had no idea what their day of work entails outside of lab work. This is very enlightening!
I am first time watcher and now subscriber. Just gotta say what a inspiration and I hope you continue doing videos. I was in the ICU for a week and I feel like the nurses/doctors don't get enough credit for all the hard work they do.
Hey this was a really cool video I’m an operating Department practitioner from England and it’s really interesting to see how intensive care differs from country to country! Hope to see carol in more videos you’re both super lovely to watch!
After watching several of your videos I've actually figured out what hospital you work at. I drove up from Ottawa and spent a lot of time there this past summer while my Nana Was there before she passed. I spent a lot of time Sitting and appreciating the view while she was there. As far as the cafeteria goes… It's probably one of the better hospital cafeterias I've ever seen! Thank you for sharing your journeys with us.
You go girl!! Very proud of you. Your friend Carol was very kind to vlog with you and I love how you share your stories and what’s going on with patients. I don’t live in Canada, but I’d be very comfortable to have you in charge of my care!! See you soon! 💕
Yes she is so awesome - VERY lucky to have her as my senior!! yeahhhh the problem is when you think there will be time "later" to get food... classic issue
I just discovered you this weekend and I have been BINGING your videos. I'm not even watching them in order (except I watched these two in order 😉) I just cant get enough. I love your energy, the way you talk about things and explain things, how you put your videos together... you're great!!!

Thanks for sharing Tokee - yes I have also seen residents sleep through pages, although luckily not in an emergency setting. In the ICU, my call room is right in the unit, so any of the nurses could just come knock on the door if i wasn't answering... otherwise they would have to try paging someone else, which is certainly not ideal! Never been a problem for me though... you can adjust the volume to incredibly loud!!
I stumbled across your videos while studying on my day off today. Binge watched about 80% of them today haha! Love your stuff! I’m an accounting major so this is officially become my go to guilty pleasure when I need a study break! 🤗
I love your videos!! You are awesome and give such an interesting look into the life of a doctor. Your caring, smart, and positive energy is contagious (in a good way ;). Thank you!!
Hey Siobhan! I really love your videos about life and your vlogs in the hospital. I want to become an orthopedic doctor/surgeon when I grow up. Your videos inspire me even more. So cool you get to intubate! At my hospital the IM residents have to page anesthesia resident on call, unless it’s daytime and the pulmonary fellow is there. :)
I am not a medical student but after seeing your video I get to know many things. You have motivated me towards medical school. Each video of yours is great . I would love to see many videos like this
That was awesome insight... I love it ...can't get enough... I love how this is a part of your life ... like you are not huffing or puffing or even cringing at the thought of being soooo overwhelmed... I love that .. u have an amazing personality
I love this channel so much. Literally discovered it a week ago and have already watched most of the videos. I'm a doctor myself (UK) and find it really interesting and eye opening to see a dr in a different healthcare setting...also you're a great person!
you remind so much of my fav nurse (i think it was a nurse) who inserted an NG drainage tube for me and I'm the most squeamish person ever and she was so relaxed and kind the whole time. I wish all my nurses/doctors were like you! ahah
How do you keep going on a 24 hour shift where you don’t get much sleep? I can’t think straight when I’m tired, I wouldn’t trust myself to make any decision without sleep!
What would we do with out doctors I like to thank all of the doctors who go out on their way to do an amazing job getting us back on the mend dealing with the amount of people who have been having problems with their health and I would like to thank you for the videos you have put on this evolving channel the VIOLIN MD yo u are such a great Doctor and I love the specialties that you specialise in I learn new things with these videos and I have put a like on this video

Violin MD COMPLETELY understandable! Please take the time you need. UA-cam is your hobby not your career. Career comes first! Thanks for all you do!
Aw carols so nice and pretty, you guys are so hardworking it’s admirable. I’m not in the medical field but I love watching these videos Siobhan :)

Congrats on your first intubation!!!!! And I hate doing blood gases on patients. It is so painful. 😖

I don't personally know you, but I feel so proud of you for saving lives.

Your on top of this!!! Go girl!!! 🎉🚩💯 I would LOVE for you to be my Dr!!!
You two make an excellent team!
Carol is so pretty omg😂❤ Love your videos!
I am first time watcher and now subscriber. Just gotta say what a inspiration and I hope you continue doing videos. I was in the ICU for a week and I feel like the nurses/doctors don't get enough credit for all the hard work they do.
Your an amazing person! Always working hard! I want u as my doctor! Keep it up!!!
You both are so adorable! Love the positive rapport :) Can't wait for your next video. Come back Carol!
I really enjoy seeing more insight on the on call experience from another person with you!
Hey this was a really cool video I’m an operating Department practitioner from England and it’s really interesting to see how intensive care differs from country to country! Hope to see carol in more videos you’re both super lovely to watch!
Love having your friend/coworker in the vlog too!
After watching several of your videos I've actually figured out what hospital you work at. I love these ICU blogs. Especially with carol ( sorry if I spelled her name wrong) in the vlogs
UA-cam recommended your channel and I’m already on your 6th video.
Omg I love it 🥰 thank you for sharing with us!
Thankyou so much for the good work that you guys do
You go girl!! Very proud of you. Your friend Carol was very kind to vlog with you and I love how you share your stories and what’s going on with patients. I don’t live in Canada, but I’d be very comfortable to have you in charge of my care!! See you soon! 💕
Thank you Sarah - so glad to hear that!
I love these videos. They are very informative and as a new nurse it helps me to review 😊
Felt like forever waiting for this video! ❤
i;ve been in that situation far too many times. oncall at night - canteen closed - surviving off vending machine food :/
PS. Carol seems so great and supportive!
Yes she is so awesome - VERY lucky to have her as my senior!! yeahhhh the problem is when you think there will be time "later" to get food... classic issue
My hospital canteen closes at 9pm,opens at 7.30am.The security won't let us out, there are no vending machines..Imagine
That Medic same here, but i’m a patient! i was waiting all night and survived off snickers & shitty egg sandwiches
That Medic dang in times I’m struggling I think of people like u save lives daily
These videos are so awesome. Thank you for taking us along with you.
I just discovered you this weekend and I have been BINGING your videos. I'm not even watching them in order (except I watched these two in order 😉) I just cant get enough. I love your energy, the way you talk about things and explain things, how you put your videos together... you're great!!!
Is it possible to sleep through a page? I’m a heavy sleeper and was wondering if I could actually sleep through it.Also, do nurses have pagers and call rooms too?
Alyssa Thompson we had a resident who slept through a pager.. and we had to use the overhead announcement to call her :). I think the resident got in trouble though because we had to call the er md because the resident never responded and my patient had a critical emergency
Great job team. Great to be working with someone that you know. Great job Carol
We’re so proud of you Doctor!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Do a video on scary moments pls!
Please keep doing more vlogs like this!!

You too ladies are so pretty and great teachers. Love your videos XOXO.
So cool you get to intubate! At my hospital the IM residents have to page anesthesia resident on call, unless it’s daytime and the pulmonary fellow is there. :)

Oh pls more videos w Carol, you are awesome solo, so y’all together are like triple extra bonus 🎹💃🔥❤️
How do you keep going on a 24 hour shift where you don’t get much sleep? I can’t think straight when I’m tired, I wouldn’t trust myself to make any decision without sleep!
