As Technology,IT, Engineering , Software, Audiophile Veteran your reviews get better and better ,That heatsink also shields RF for the SMPS ( BTW) thanks again for the review, your style and method seems to focus on how the purchaser can best play their hand.
My goal is to give you an idea what to expect for usability as well as cover the highlights, good and bad. Thanks for watching!
Can you elaborate on what you said ? I'm completely missing the part where sound quality is mentioned ?
@@BogdanWeiss It was on screen ! Along with his comments about being very a neutral sound presentation
@@thinkIndependent2024 You're joking :-) thanks ;-)
@@BogdanWeissNot sure what you are saying? I didn't upload a video.
I just buy early samples of CHI-FI typically it has a completely different name on the device then a give it away to others to encourage the hobby.
Humans have evolved in multiple ways to maximize the ENERGY released at the start of the Universe being a Audiophile is in my top 3 ways of utilizing that Energy some drive race cars I play music
Love your reviews Matt. These units you test seem to get better and better. At age 67 I'm buying a new house (stupid) and my new listening room will be about 3 times bigger than my current one. I'm getting pretty pumped.
Congrats on the new house! This listening room sounds like it will be a fun one as well.
great review, i have the same kind of setup but with diferent devices, 2 SMSL A300 amp in BTL mode with the same infineon chip MA5332MS (300 w at 4-8 ohms) one difference (I don't know if it is an advantage or disadvantage) is that it is an integrated amplifier and has a remote control, for the DAc is a Topping E50 with the same ESS ES9068AS all conneted to ELAC UB5 wich requerid power due to 85 db at 4 ohms, is funny see the same kind of product but different implementation in another brand, sorry for my bad grammar and misspellings, greetings from Mexico!
Nice to see that this amp has interchangeable op amp capabilities - wonder how it will sound with let's say some of the new Bursons or the Sparkos Labs versions.
About the same. The RC4580s used are already pretty good. Certainly better than NE5532s everyone else uses.
Love these tests/reviews. Keep em coming. I'd love to see some amp tests in the higher price ranges such as the Emotiva monoblocks.
What price range are you most interested in?
$2k-$4k 😊

Like the form factor of these. Little bit different. Currently (like half the audiophile world) waiting for my V3 monos to wing their way to Scotland, so not in the market. Plan using my uncheap Allnic 300b tube amp as a preamp for the Fosi pair just for fun. I'm hoping for tube tone and Class D power. If it doesn't work I've got a P3.
I did hear those V3 mono's are taking a bit to make their rounds, hope you get yours soon!
We are all patiently waiting ...😁
That is a great combo. I'm running a doge 8 clarity valve preamp into ice power B&O class D 600wpc
Bliss
Your v3 monos turned up yet ?
@@bristolwoodburners81Nope. No sign. No emails either.
OCD … symmetry matters! Thanks for the review. 😊
You know it Tony
@@MattCoykendall1Humming … sad really, wondering if this is a QA issue. 😢
Nice setup ... Good to see a company with a system plan.
Not fond of the power switches on the back, but a simple power bar overcomes that easily enough. (I did notice soft start circuitry in the teardown sequence, so inrush current should not be a problem)
Now about those speaker binding posts...
This is the latest audiophile tempest in a teacup. Note how far your plugs go into the older mini size and the newer ones... Yep, they're the same depth. The old ones simply carried part of the socket into the case of the amplifier where on the new ones it's all on the outside. So can we please stop fussing over this one?
Hey Douglas, my issue with the power switches on the rear of these was that when I had all three in a line it was difficult to access the switch at a desk, I would likely go with a switched power bar as well. The binding posts I am still sticking with as there is a bit more to it than the socket location. The ones with the mini posts have a smaller diameter post as well as a much smaller gauge hole for a bare wire connection. I dont believe you need massive cables for amps like this by any means but you would be limited in cable gauge on the small plugs with a bare wire connection. You are accurate though that more of the post is exposed on the larger ones but as I mentioned everything else is larger as well.

Okay .... I don't disagree.
I don't get why they can't get the power switches right. Seems like there's some aversion to making it easy.
On the plugs...
There certainly are some differences.
I think it's less of an issue, though because just about everyone is using banana plugs
Agreed, I use banana plugs nearly 100% of the time just for the simplicity of things.
@@MattCoykendall1
Pretty much all of us do...
@@MattCoykendall1
I might be wrong here but did you try long-pressing the select switch?
interesting.. never heard of this brand
is the amp stable into 4 Ohms in BTL mode?
I am in IT. 24 years
In it for the long haul, no escape ha
