+Sara Li 1. The ceremony is a sort of ruse or mental exercise that makes the animals feel like they're free or different from other animals. Even though the pigs are treating them worse than the humans did the ceremony fools them into thinking they have better lives. 2. Snowball has become this sort of mystical force in the minds of the animals. Anytime something bad happens they'll blame it on Snowball. The pigs want everyone thinking that everything bad on the farm is because of Snowball and ignore the real reason that the pigs are the real problem. I hope that helped let me know if you need more info.
