The example with "only 3 computers work". I miss the Thai expression for "only". It may be either แค่ or เท่านั้น - but I never know when to use which of these words.
You can use either one, almost interchangeable
มีคอมพิวเตอร์แค่ 3 เครื่อง...
มีคอมพิวเตอร์ 3 เครื่องเท่านั้น...
มีคอมพิวเตอร์แค่ 3 เครื่องเท่านั้น...
They are similar. You can choose any sentence to say😊
Hello Kru New, your lesson is great as usual and you are very clear. I wonder at 8 minutes 11 on the video. I can read "rao kuan hai giat thi phou eun" and you read "rao kuan hai giat phou eun". What is the correct way to tell ? Suu Suu na
The correct one is no 'thi' 😊
Like when you sneak in a classifier once in awhile...more than one - computer - krêuang. "tee chai dai" - that work/that are useful...? "ao bpai som" - to fix/to be repaired...? Thank you again New! 🎉🖊️📃
You're welcome 😊
Hi New. Many thanks for a great lesson. Excellent as usual. I have one question, though. I'm confused about the sentence "I want to go to other restaurants." Do you mean that I want to go to another/a different restaurant?
You have an eagle eye. I meant 'i want to go to another restaurant' but it would make it confused for you so I said other restaurants. 😊
Please check this lesson for complete explanation😊

I just want to know does the example sentence "We should be respectful to others" should be written เราควรให้เกียรติคนอื่น like in the video, and not เราควนให้เกียรรติ?Because if it has รร, I know that it will sound lile an "a" or "an", so what is the use of ร in เกียรติ? Please answer this🙏 ขอบคุณครับ
To be honest, I don't know the reason. It's one of many exceptions in Thai language😅
55555 no worries, I am used with so many unexplainable exceptions in Thai 5555
Honor or respect right is "Giat" therefore it's silent as well as the อิ sound I guess.
Kruu New, what is the Thai translation for "any other"? For example, how do you say:
"Kruu New is not like any other teachers. She is something else."
I actually want to say this to anyone who is looking for a Thai language teacher!
(BTW if you cover this in your previous lessons, you can simply post its link.)
Other would still be อื่น
ครูนิวไม่เหมือนครูคนอื่น
kroo niw mâi mĕuuan kroo kon èun
The pattern would still be the same N + Classifier N + อื่น
ครูคนอื่น
😊

I would normally use the word “different” rather that the word “other”. I want to go to a different restaurant. Can you use อื่น in this case?
Do you mind to tell me what do you normally say?
@@thailessonsbynew I would say, “I want to go to a different restaurant “
It is one of those interesting translations where saying "I want to go to other restaurants" is not wrong but sounds odd to me and wouldn't come naturally.
Sorry I meant it how you said in Thai.
However, I guess I understand your point. I know it sounds unnaturally in English. You are right you can say 'I want to go to another restaurant/different restaurant' in English
What we say in Thai, it did not quite literally translate into English.
@@thailessonsbynew I think I would use อื่น but I wouldn’t translate it as “other”. I guess I am asking is if อื่น be translated both ways or is there a different thai word typically used for the word “different” . Sorry if this is confusing.
The easiest way to explain is อื่น mean other, others.
However, as you might realize that Thai don't take singular or plural as serious as in English. So any other choices (not specific), either plural or singular, you can say อื่น😊
